Chapter 4

Skyla

It really took me a while for gaining Tai's trust. I know it has been quite a long time since we last saw each other.

As we continue walking to our destination, Tai's stomach begins to growl, as that he was quite embarrassed about.

"Oh, I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. I guess I haven't noticed." He rubbed his head sheepishly.

Hiccup seems annoyed at this as he stumbles to a nearby lagoon that had filled with salmon. He jumps through the rocky steps as that Tai was concern about the Night fury's footsteps.

"Hiccup, please be careful. Those steps are slippery ." He said, being protective father, as I giggled at the cautious boy.

"Take it easy, Tai. I have known Hiccup for quite some time. He's been careful when he's fishing. Don't be so worried about it."

Hiccup concurs with me, "Yeah, c'mon, have a little faith in me, Tai. I know how to fish, and I've taught my sister how to fish too."

He indeed slipped through a rock while he was consoling Tai, as that I notice how much we can travel so easily.

"Wow, it's really good pacing we have here. The Hakuni Falls aren't so far after all. All we need to do was to across a riverbank by swimming across, and pass the icy glaciers. We might get to the Eqounix some time tomorrow. "

Tai wasn't too thrilled of hearing the news.

Tai

I was afraid of that. The fear I've gotten since that day still has me. The near death experience, the water gotten through me, and I was unable to save myself, unable to swim, and that Sky had to save me that day.

"Uh, that... That's quite nice. But how about we climb over the riverbank and go through the mountains with flying?"

Both dragons were looking over my idea, as that Sky was concerned, "Um, you know that Hic can't possibly climb over though mountains with only three feet right?"

I was pretty determined, "It's going to be fine... I know... "

Sky was concerned about my well being, "Tai, is there something you're not telling us why you don't want to go to the Riverbank?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine!" I stammered, as Hiccup tossed me a salmon, coming out of the water, which made me scream and fell down in panic mode, as that Hiccup laughs at me.

"What was that? You acted like you're afraid of a little fish!"

I made a little hug around myself as Hiccup continue to make fun of me. "Awe, Tai, the fish is so scary!"

Sky seems to be annoyed of his behavior, as she couldn't handle his attic, "Hiccup, stop that this instant!!!!!! "

Her sudden stern voice shook him to the core, as if this was the first time that she has risen her voice at her brother.

She shook her head, disappointed by it, as that she decides to sat next to me.

"He's just making a joke. Don't be so angry about that." She said, as I knew I had to confess about how I was truly felt .

"No, it's not the fish that scared me. It was the water. I been afraid of the water ever since I fell that day when we were kids. "

Sky seems to finally realized it. "Oh, now I get it. I totally forgotten about that. It seems so long ago. I'm so sorry I didn't see it earlier. "

I raised my hand, "No, it's totally my fault. I should've spoken up about my fear earlier. It's just I thought you would laugh at me for having such a fear."

"Me, laughing at you for that? Tai, I really do want to help you conquer that fear. C'mon, we can do this together. "

I got up, as I asked, "You really think I can conquer my fear of water? "

"There is only one way to find out for sure, if we continue our path." She said, as we looked at each other with ease.

She showed me her world, the world she has known, as we also had plenty of fun, as if we turned back into our childhood selves, like we never been apart in the first place.

As though it was great of spending time with my childhood best friend, the tug inside of me lingers.

What was this feeling? I know I should be married, but why does it feel like something inside my heart was telling me something else?" I thought in my mind.

As we reached the river, I couldn't help it but shaking with fear, looking down. "We can do this together. Let me help."

I nodded as we go together as I rode on her back. It felt so natural. I gradually opened my eyes underwater for the first time since my childhood fear, as I realized that water wasn't so scary as I remembered it to be.

I let go of her comfort, as she smiled at me swimming for the first time. As we reached the surface, I said, "I can't believe it. I actually done it. I swam through the river!"

I hugged her, "Thanks a lot, Sky. I really am grateful for that."

She looked down as if it was slightly embarrassing of the slight hug from me.

Hiccup

I looked down, felt totally sadden of how Sky reacting to me teasing Tai. It's just so sudden of her raising her voice at me. We never fought before, and it made me felt so uneasy about it. Also it took me a long time to adjust of the long-time friendship between Tai and Sky.

"Hey, Hiccup. Where's Skylar?" A voice asked, as I turned around to see it was my friend, Dagur. "Oh, hey, Dagur. I haven't seen you there."

"It's fine. Heather and I have not seen either of you since you visited Sky's village right? "

"Yeah, I guess." I replied. The dragon noticed my attitude, "What's bothering you, you can tell me anything."

So I told him about Tai and Sky's relationship, and I was concerned. "Do you think that Sky might love him and forget all about me?"

"Hic, I'm not that knowledge about love, I haven't got a crush on someone, I never experience it . Besides, you have to find out the answer yourself.

I'll see you around. Heather might be wondering where I was, and I don't want to tick my sister off." The dragon flew away to find his sister.

I sighed, as I walk through the river as on my own, as I saw the two of them interacting. Skylar and Tai were laughing.

"Oh, c'mon, you're not that serious about this."

"I am! Eric almost went through a dragon's den filled with eggs and completely almost got fried."

Sky sigh, "It sounds like he hasn't changed since I left the village, hasn't he?"

She notices the amulet as it reminds of the journey we're supposed to go on. "So, Hakuani Falls. It seems like we might really make it there after all. "

"Yeah."

"It seems so different from the last time we were there as kids. It seems so funny to me."

"You took the words right out my mouth, Tai. It really takes me back memories of us as children. It was really fun."

"Fun, but really cold." Tai said, shivers as realizing of how cold the winter was. "At night like this, I consider of being a dragon."

I rolled my eyes at her compliment.

Tai was lost in thought but then he look directly at her. "Sky, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"Well, I know that you being a dragon is something incredible, the Great Spirits granted you that. Um, I was wondering... what you could do if you changed back into your original form?"

The question dawns on her, as if always gave her a long thought. "Yeah, I often thought about that scenario a lot .

I couldn't believe it. "I knew it. "

Sky and Tai was shocked of me listening into their conversation. "Hiccup."

I cried, "You're going back with him!"

I ran away as the feeling I've felt before. It was the betrayal. It felt like when I first listen to Sky about learning my mother's death.

"Hiccup! Please wait!" Sky said, pleading with me, but I hid away to give myself some comfort from what I just heard.
