Chapter 2
Azaelia Pov-
I awoke from the realm of dreams to the sounds of war. The smell of iron and rain. To darkened skies and cries of war. I notice my body glowing in a beautiful light. I head towards the top of the hill. All around me is chaos and death. My brother stands beside me ready for battle.
Looking at my brother, I see him giving me a single nod before we draw swords or bows. The light from our bodies continues to grow as we draw closer to the battle. Using our magic to enhance our speed, strength, and defences, we cut down the beings of vile magic.
The elves renew their strength and hope as they watch us. I heal the injured, be it minor or significant. There would be no more deaths today. Not while we still draw breath.
"Souran!" I hear someone call. Looking at the place of malicious magic and death. Gritting my teeth, I ran till I was in his range. My brother notices my movement and actions, following behind me.
I jump above everyone. Drawing my bow, with an enchanted arrow I utter two words. Condensing my magic at the tip of my arrow, I release.
"Avada Kedavra!"
"Get down!!!" my brother orders the elves with his magic forcing the ones in its path to kneel on the ground. My arrow is surrounded by an electric green hue, killing everything in its path. The arrow hits the being in its right shoulder. He calls his army to fall back and retreats once it came. I and Draco kill a good portion of them till none remained on the battlefield.
Cheers sounded as the sky turned blue with the rising sun. Walking to the top of the mountain looking over the lands and dawn of a new era. Looking over to the ellions who cheered their victory, we raise our weapon of choice to the sky as the sun's rays shine down on our forms.
We watched from our spot as the elves helped search for the dead and take the helms to place on a pile. We knew this was not the end, but the beginning of something greater. I place garlands upon the helms and gift the ones who lost their families with charm. Each is made of specific designs and ores.
Ore:
Mythril - Lost their last living relative.
Gold- Lost a lover.
Silver - Lost a family member.
Form:
Crown, tiara, circlet - Last person in your family. Has a duty to fulfil a promise, oath, or debt.
Necklace - Lover was killed in battle.
Earing - Lost a sibling or child.
bracelet - Lost a parent.
Anklet - Went to battle and lived.
Gems:
Gems would be the colour of the person's eyes.
I watched a platinum blonde elleth gently place a helm on the stack closest to her. I could sense a dormant power/ability dwell within her, along with a lingering soul.
Grasping my brother's arm for a moment, I apparate behind her silently. Within my grasp was a crown of Mythril, adorning ice-blue crystals. Once she turned around, I placed it on her head. I smile gently at her before apparating to my brother.
We enter a portal which would lead us to our resting spot. We would awaken once again in times of need. To turn the tides and regain the peace and prosperity of the world. What we did not know then, was the elves would find us and place our bodies in temples to honour us. The halls would be painted in our memories and battles. Guardians would protect and guard our bodies till we awakened once again.
They are hailed as heroes and validated by the valar as the guardians and leaders of the istari. We connected our cores and minds to the earth and stored all of history within our minds. We would only remain awake if our 'one' were alive and old enough to wed.
>Time skip to the third age<
Brother and I wander the forest that surrounds our forgotten temples. As we continue our walk we start to notice some elves watching us. I let out a soft, airy laugh as the elks nudge my hands for attention. Brother stands watch near the treeline of the clearing as I sit in the middle with the fawns resting their heads on my lap. The largest male lays behind me, allowing me to rest against him while he watches over the herd.
"Come sister, let us continue our stroll. Rabagast is expecting us for lunch. We would want to be late." He spoke. Looking up at him, I notice his tense form. My smile slowly fades as I walk closer to him slowly. The buck walked beside me, nudging me with his head.
"Let us ride there brother, he seems to want to escort us there," I spoke calmly. With a nod, we fluidly mount him and rush off to the istari's home. The elves that were watching us couldn't keep chase. I let out a laugh as we lost them. Draco shook his head with a sigh.
"You shouldn't be laughing while we run from them Azaelia." He grumbled as we pass by a group of ellions. My eyes briefly connected to Silver eyes that held a look of shock.
"I do believe we passed the greenwood king, oh well. He probably won't recognise us the next time we meet. No matter how briefly." I spoke as we arrived. Draco dismounts first before helping me down. I bow to the buck before he leaves back to his herd. Rabagast greets us and rambles on about his recent doings.
Over the years we met all of the istari and learned their magic. We deemed them to be slow and time-consuming and we taught all in secret... except saruman. His heart and mind were too dark to have such knowledge on hand. We told the other 4 to keep it a secret and the last resort. We viewed them as our godchildren. We gave them all equal care and attention, but saruman wanted none of it. We tried to care for him, but he kept pushing us away till he finally told us to stop.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. I continued to drink tea and nibble on some snacks as rabagast talked to whoever is at the door. He may be a little spacey, but he can be deadly serious if needed. He never raises his voice or yells unless the other person doesn't get the hint. The person at the door isn't listening.
"I do not care if you are a king or a slave! You do not command me! The only beings that can order me are my lord Draconis and Lady Azaelia, or the Valar! You of all people should know to respect your elders! If I wanted to I could still bend you over my knee!" He yelled. Spitting out the tea I was drinking, I laugh at the last sentence. Making my way to the door, I rest my hand on his shoulder.
"Enough, what has caused you to yell rab? I can hear you from the other side of the house." I speak gently. He visibly relaxes and turns to me with a pout. With a soft chuckle, I turn to the people outside.
"Oh my, it appears we have an elven king visiting. Brother and I shall take our leave then, rab." I say with my emotionless mask on. Brother appears behind them without notice. Startling them with a cough.
"Let us be off dear sister, it appears rabagast has unexpected visitors. Rab, if you need us or wish to speak, you know how to contact us. You need not worry about us, child." He spoke before holding his arm out for me.
"Yes, I wonder if Mithlandir will visit us soon. I do miss our godchildren." I say while passing the king of Greenwood. The knights gasp in shock or disbelief. Thranduil simply bows his head while moving out of the way.
I stop in front of him, gently lifting his face with my hand. Emerald flowers appear on the right of his face, covering the hidden injury. His eyes widen in surprise, while my beloved brother clears his throat.
"Let us be off sister, you have time to jump him later." He teases. I chuckle at him before taking his arm and walking away. Still feeling his eyes on me before we apparate to the temple. Awaiting us is none other than the one person who still remembers to visit. Galadriel.
"Welcome child. It seems you still know how to return." Draconis spoke to the white lady. I smile gently at her as she rushes into my arms. I notice she brought others with her who stare in shock or confusion. I let go when she pulls back.
"That I do, lord Draconis." She spoke happily.
"And you do not greet me the same as your godmother?" He teased.
"That is because she is special." She retorted. Draconis pouted until she pulled him into one. I laughed at the exchange before walking to the steps of our temple.
"Come along now children, I'll have the dinner ready soon," I say before walking into the temple. The knights follow me in while the other two playfully banter between themselves behind us. I shake my head at them before using my magic to help prepare the feast. Seasonal vegetables, fruit, nuts, and fish. I set the table and make them all except Galadriel and Draconis bathe before supper. They knew my rules for meals. Especially when they have travelled or been outside. Once the food was done and placed on the long dining table, I, myself get cleaned.
Walking into the dining room I slowly make my way to my seat. I was the head of my family and as such, head of the table. Brother bowed his head before taking his seat. I watch the knights/escorts as I was informed.
"Knight, fourth chair from my brother. Elbows off the table. Sit up. Wipe your face. You act like an elfling first learning etiquette." I speak without looking at him. I hear my brother snicker lightly before taking a sip of wine.
"What is your name?"I ask, looking up to meet his eyes. He looks startled slightly before finally answering me.
"Elrohir, my lady."
"Elrohir? As in the son of Elrond and Celebrian? My, Galadriel! You never told me you were bringing your grandchildren to meet me! Let me reintroduce myself, my name is Azaelia, I am your great-grandmother. I am the adoptive soul mother of Galadriel. What else have you not told me, child!" I say ecstatically to both of them. He and another in front of him both spit out their drinks before looking at me in shocked disbelief.
"It was a last-minute decision to bring them, I figured their parents would like a break from the mischief and pranks they cause. I shall bring them all the next time I visit mother." She spoke happily. I smile at her before we continue our meal. I had a feeling something big would be happening soon. Whether it is good or bad will be decided when the time comes.
After dinner and well wishes, I head off to bed. My dreams were filled with the eyes of the elven king of Greenwood. Why would he be in my dream?
