Wolves are fascinating creatures.

They're able to cover up to 48 to 96 kilometers, or, when pressed 160 KM in a day! They can smell up to 3 KM away and pick up sounds from a distance of 16 KM—that's likely the distance to or farther than your house to the closest grocery store!

With various forms of communication between them, like scent, sound, and body language (including facial expressions!), they form tight social structures with the pack of five to eight members consisting of family or helping the dominant male and female raise their young.

Isn't that just fascinating? Beautiful, majestic, highly competent creatures running the woods and mountains are ripe for storytelling, and I'm certainly not the first to think so (shout out to SpruceWolf and TheWildCyde for capturing the canine fascination in fantasy so wonderfully).

And that's why I'm here. With ONC dawning, and prompts prompting, I bring you Where the Star Weeps, a story set entirely in a lore-rich world run by wolves of all pelts, backgrounds, and abilities. This novella is following prompts:
