"HE WON'T BE HAPPY TO SEE US." Andy sighed from the passenger seat of the '67 Impala.
It's been about four years since they've seen the youngest Winchester. Well, since Dean's seen him. The family didn't separate on good terms. Andy remembers the words that John Winchester yelled at his youngest in their last moments together as a family.
"If you leave, don't bother coming back."
"Well, he's going to have to deal with it." Dean sighed, turning his head to look at Andy for a moment, "You're excited to see him." He commented, seeing her squirm,
"Don't deny that you're not either, Dean." Andy smiled at him, "It's been four years. The Three Musketeers will be back together again!"
Dean shook his head, "Sam won't leave. He's too attached to his apple pie life."
"It's his father, too, Dean." Andy sighed, "We can't do this alone."
"Yes, we can!" He squeezed her hand, "Us against the world."
"We need him. He's the smart one. The Sonny to our Cher, the John to our Paul, the Robin to our Batman." Andy ranted,
"Sonny and Cher broke up." Dean stated and Andy rolled her eyes,
"You know what I mean." She sighed and leaned back into her seat, "How much longer?"
"Another hour or so." He patted her thigh, "Get some rest, Cher."
Andy smacked his shoulder before using her jacket as a pillow. Once she had opened her eyes, she noticed she was in the car alone.
"Jackass couldn't even wake me up." Andy sighed, getting out of the car and putting her jacket on. She didn't know which building belonged to Sam, so she leaned against the Impala waiting for the Winchesters.
"The weapon training, and melting the silver into bullets? Man, Dean, we were raised like warriors." Andy heard his voice and stood up straight.
She spotted him towering over Dean by a good few inches. But he still had that shaggy hair and funny walk, like his legs were too long for him.
"Sammy!" His head shot up and the younger Winchester smiled as she ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him, "I've missed you."
"Missed you, too, Andy." Sam laughed, lifting her up off her feet,
"Look how big you are." Andy grinned taking a step back,
"It hasn't been that long, An." Sam replied.
"It's been two years."
"So what are you gonna do?" Dean asked, interrupting the conversation, "You're just gonna live some normal, apple pie life? Is that it?"
"No. Not normal. Safe." Sam corrected,
"And that's why you ran away."
"Dean!" Andy scolded,
"I was just going to college. It was Dad who said if I was gonna go I should stay gone. And that's what I'm doing." Sam stated,
"Yeah, well, Dad's in real trouble right now. If he's not dead already. I can feel it." Dean said seriously and Sam stayed silent, "We can't do this without you."
"Yes, you can." Sam responded,
"Yeah, well, we don't want to." Andy stated, "Please, Sam?"
Sam sighed, looking down at his shoes before looking back at them, "What was he hunting?"
Andy grinned as Dean opened the trunk of the Impala and then the spare-tire compartment that was turned into an arsenal. "All right, let's see, where the hell did I put that thing?" He began to dig through the clutter.
"So when Dad left, why didn't you two go with him?" Sam asked,
"We were working our own gig." Andy answered, rolling her eyes and grabbing the folder and handing it to Dean,
"Yeah, this, uh, voodoo thing, down in New Orleans." Dean explained,
"Dad let you two go on a hunting trip unsupervised?"
Dean looked over at Sam, "I'm twenty-six, dude." He pulled some papers out of a folder, "All right, here we go. So Dad was checking out this two-lane blacktop just outside of Jericho, California. About a month ago, this guy," He handed Sam a paper, "They found his car, but he vanished. Completely MIA."
Sam read it quickly, "So maybe he was kidnapped."
"Except there were more." Andy stated,
"Yeah." Dean tossed down all the articles, "One in April. Another one in December '04, '03, '98, '92, ten of them over the past twenty years."
As Dean put the stack back in the folder Andy continued, "All men, all the same five-mile stretch of road."
Dean pulled a bag out of another part of the arsenal, "It started happening more and more, so Dad went to go dig around. That was about three weeks ago. We hadn't heard from him since, which is bad enough." He grabbed a tape recorder, "Then, I get this voicemail yesterday." Dean pressed play and the three listened to John Winchester's voice on the recording with static on in the background, "Dean...something big is starting to happen...I need to try and figure out what's going on. It may... Be very careful, Dean. We're all in danger."
"You know there's EVP on that?" Sam stated,
"Not bad, Sammy. Kinda like riding a bike, isn't it?" Dean smirked, "All right. I slowed the message down, I ran it through a gold wave, took out the hiss, and this is what I got."
He pressed play again and a woman's voice spoke, "I can never go home..."
"Never go home." Sam repeated as Dean closed the trunk and leaned against it,
"You know, in almost two years I've never bothered you, never asked you for a thing." Dean stated,
Sam sighed, "All right. I'll go. I'll help you find him."
Andy smiled, "Seriously?"
"Seriously." He nodded, "But I have to get back first thing Monday. Just wait here."
Sam began to go back towards his apartment but Dean spoke, "What's first thing Monday?"
"I have this...I have an interview." He answered,
"What, a job interview? Skip it."
"It's a law school interview, and it's my whole future on a plate." Sam explained,
"Law school?" Andy smiled, "Good for you, Sammy."
"So we got a deal or not?"
