"For goodness sake, Belinda you are now a mother, you have a child now,
why can’t you stop this disgusting attitude of yours and concentrate on our family" James spoke angrily to his wife Belinda.

" A mother?
I never wanted a child. you know that James, that boy just ruined my life he ruined everything" Belinda muttered
James move closer to his wife and looked deeply into her eyes before replying her.

"Belinda, I have allowed you get away with all the nonsense you have been doing ever since I got married you.
Not because I am a weakling,
it’s because I really care about you and now I am asking  you for this only favor, to please consider David, our child, your son.
He needs you.
you didn't even breast feed that child and you have never carried him for five minute since you gave birth to him
What kind of a mother are you?"

James pinch the bridge of his nose trying not to get angry,
then gently exhale and spoke calmly this time
"Belinda that child needs you.
He is just twelve, but he knows exactly what is going on in this family;
He knows you don’t love him,
He knows you never wanted him to be born.
Please my love, promise me you will change.
Make him feel loved; he is my only child my heir and I can’t afford to see him unhappy" James pleaded.

"You are asking for the impossible" Belinda said harshly.
"James you know I never loved you.
  And you also know I married you because of your money, not to give you children.
And you know how much I hate children. for goodness sake James, we had an agreement.
I never wanted to be a mother you kept me in this God forsaking palace like a prisoner
That boy ruined my life.
you should have just accepted for us adopt  maybe we could have been happy.
I have better things to handle right now if you don’t mind" Belinda said and walked out angrily.

David who was at the door listening to his parent’s conversation tried to run away before his mother came out but it was too late for him.
Belinda opened the door and saw David standing looking nervous. She saw fear in his eyes.
“Mom, good morning”
David greeted fearfully and began to move backward afraid his mom might shout at him

“Morning David”
Belinda replied and then left without saying anything more.

After Belinda left, David walked up to his aunty "Helen" the woman that has been taking care of him since he was born. Helen was James younger sister and a divorcee.

“David what happen to you?
Why are you looking  this way” Helen asked curiously.
Tears were already gathering in David's eyes as he spoke
"it’s my mom and dad, I overheard them arguing about me"
"I warned you to stop trespassing, why would you be listening to adult conversations"  Helen asked David as she tried to wipe tears that had escaped from his eyes.
“She hates me very much, not only me mum Helen.
(Mom Helen was the name David was used to in Addressing his Aunty Helen).
She hates my daddy and me, and I made her hate him more.
I heard her said she only married dad for his money.
And that I ruined her life and that my daddy should have just adopted a child instead of making her give birth to me" David said crying.

"Your mother was only joking, maybe your dad got her angry.
your mom loves you, I love you and so does your dad.
Helen said trying to comfort him.

Later at night, Helen went to meet Belinda in her room.
she wanted to talk to her about David.
Please Belinda,
"I need to talk to you about David, she said when she got to Belinda’s room.
This morning He overheard you and my brother arguing about your relationship.

He heard you say that you married his father because of his money, you never wanted to have him and that you hate him.
Belinda, David is still a child, but he understands whatever is going on in this house, and it’s not fare.
You are his mother, and he needs you so much.
He needs motherly care and love, and nobody is in the best position to give him that but you"
Helen spoke calmly to her hoping she would be a human for once to understand
Belinda who was angrily listen to Helen stood up and was facing Her directly now.

“How dare you tell me how to handle my own child”? 
"He needs motherly love, are you already tired of playing the motherly part?
If you are then no one is forcing you to continue.
Now I know why your husband left you for another woman, barren woman like you.
You are not even woman enough to have your own child and you don’t even know how to stick to your own business.
You can go to hell if you don’t like the way I treat David for all I care" Belinda said.

Helen stood for sometime as though trying to register what Belinda had said, before she spoke.

" I would not take another insult from you Belinda or whatever you called yourself.
I agree I am a barren woman
But the woman you are calling barren had a child which she loved with all her heart, but death took him away from her.
And let me Correct you, my husband did not dump me, I dumped him" Helen said angrily.
“Whatever, that’s your business not mine, dumped or not dumped” Belinda said and went back to her seat.

  "Hmm James what kind of a woman did you end up with as a wife"
Helen asked herself as she walked out from the room.

When Helen came out of the room, she saw David standing and looking at her.
“What did she say to you” David asked curiously
"Nothing much, I just talked to her about you and told her to stop scaring you and that she should learn to love you. Helen responded smiling lightly
Did she accept? David asked
"I think she is going to think about it" Helen said leading David to his room she didn't want to lie to David but she didn't know what else to say to him.
"Mom Helen,
when I grow up I will never marry a woman that does not love me and won’t love my son.
I will also not get married a woman who wants to marry me because of my money.
I will never marry a woman like my mom who dislikes my daddy and I" David with his face down.

"Oh David, Your mom loves you; it’s just that she is having some problems and things she dont want to let go" Helen said as she bent down and cupped David’s face tenderly
"No my mummy doesn’t love me I know that. I see how Harrison’s mother treats him she always play with him and buy him gifts
My mother don’t even remember my birthday.
she does not even buy me gifts I know she don’t like me I’ve heard her say that several times"
David said slowly, with pain written all over his face.

The next day, Belinda was in the garden when Agnes her friend showed up.
“Queen Belinda, how are you doing her majesty”?
Agnes greeted with her head down jokingly.
"I am fine my friend, you just forgot about me" Belinda responded
"Haah", Agnes exclaimed
"why would I forget you, I can forget any other person but not you.
I can see you are living a fulfilled life over here"

"You said a fulfilled Life?
Belinda asked
There is nothing like that my friend, she said shaking her head in disapproval.
"Before I forget how is your son David? He must be a big boy now how old is he? Agnes asked smiling at Belinda.
"He should be nine no I think he is ten or twelve" Belinda respond with total confusion writing all over her.
"Belinda"
you are impossible? You can’t remember how old your son is?
by the way where is he? I got something for him .
"He should be with his aunty, I have not seen him today just keep it I would give it to him later".
"So how have you been doing" Belinda asked trying to change their conversation.

Four years later
Victor and his wife were about to embark on a journey,
David was standing close to the car, when his father came and placed his hand on his shoulder.  
“David take care of yourself and your aunty, don’t stress her to much you know you’re not a kid anymore.
So man, behave yourself as the future king
Your mother and I would be gone for one week, for the coronation of my friend’s son.
And one more thing, make sure you study very hard for your examination”

"Alright daddy take care of yourself am really going to miss you" he said hugging his Dad
"Bye mom" he waved at her when the car drove off. 
" your teacher would be here any moment” Helen said and they both went inn.

A week after, Helen was in the kitchen when David came looking happy.
"Dad just called, he said they should be home in an hour time" David said, as he tried to peep at what his Aunty was cooking.
He called me also, that’s why I want to make his favorite. she said as she smiled at David.
“That’s nice”
Let me go check on something outside I won’t stay long I promise.
"ok just make sure you go with a guard and remember to be careful"
"I will, thanks mom Helen" David said and ran out calling out for a guard.

Few minute later,
Helen heard her phone ringing,  she ran to the living room to get it with the expectation of hearing her brother’s voice.
Immediately she answered the call, she was ask to come to the hospital that her brother and his wife, has been involved in terrible accident...

A week after the accident, king victor and Queen Belinda were buried in a proper way  in the kingdom.
And after that some weeks David was crowned the new king.

Ten years after David because king, the kingdom was flourishing in every aspect David was indeed a great king.
he ruled his kingdom with wisdom even at his young age, and the kingdom was enjoying prosperity, good leadership and peace.
The people couldn't keep quiet but confess to each other that David was indeed their best king ever.
But there was a big problem.
David had totally refused to get married...

When the royals couldn’t take it anymore, they fixed a secret meeting with Helen
" we are worried about the king.
He should get married"
We have allowed him all these years, because he was still a child but his not anymore. 
The king should choose a bride.
What is a king without his queen?”
Helen who was already tired of talking to David, promised the royals to talk to him and get back to them.

Hours later, David came to the living room and met Helen seated with her hand on her cheek and could tell she was worried about something.
David hated to see helen worried, he would kill anybody who would dare to make her unhappy.
“Mom, how are you doing today, I have not seen you all day” David moved closer to her smiling.
“Yes dear, I have been with the royals David I want something from you”
"Mom, you know I would do anything to make you happy just mention it" David said sitting close to her

"David you are a man now, and not just any man you’re the king of this kingdom
Don’t you think it is time for you to get married and have a heir?
Come to think of it, if your father didn’t have you, would he had had  someone to keep his name?
David please I want you to bring a lady, any lady, I promise I will approve as much as you love her"
David looked at his Helen, and smiled before responded to her.

"Mom, I am sorry, I don't want to hurt you in anyway but I don’t want to get married.
Marriage is just not my thing.
I can adopt children, just tell me how many of them you want in the house,
I promise tomorrow they would be here and then you would take good care of them I can also get as many nannies as possible to help you care for them"

"No David, I don’t want you to adopt any child into this home.
I’m talking about your own children you have to understand is not every woman that is like your mother". 
"No mom, listen
Every woman I have come across is only interested in one thing and that is money, and I am not ready to live an unhappy life, like my father.
I love my life this way"
“David you have to listen to me” Helen spoke calmly
“I am done listening mom if that is all you have to say to me”
David said and walked out he passed a maid at the door and yelled at her angrily.

Some days later, Princess Lois came to David’s kingdom for a visit, Lois was David’s friend right from child hood, and their parents had been great friends while James was still alive.
When Helen saw Lois, she was so excited, Lois was very beautiful lady. Helen concluded in her mind that her sleepless night about David’s marital status was over.
Helen greeted Lois with a warm smile and a lovely hug.
She made sure everything Lois needed was provided.
After Lois was done freshen up, she came down stairs where Helen and her had dinner and sat discussing as they waited for David to return.
In the process of waiting for David Helen told Lois how much she loved her as a daughter and pleaded with her to try all she could so David would get married to her.
Lois, who had been looking for an opportunity to get David attention, was indeed happy to get a support from Helen.

The next day, Helen walked to the Garden and met David. he was studying some papers.
She smiled and sat close to him. Mum how are you doing today? David asked Helen giving her all his Attention.
After a long silence between them, Helen decided to break the silence
“David don’t you think princess Lois is going to make a good wife”
David who was not shock with the question his mother had ask answered with a big No 
No mom, she won’t make a good wife I know her more than you do and I can’t marry her.

Mom I have told you so many times that am never going to get married"
"You never going to get married? You just want to sleeping with ladies like a man bitch"
Helen was already getting pissed.
"Ok mom"
David said trying to calm her
"let say I have not seen the right person I wish to get married to.
when I see her I would let you know" David said holding Helen's hand.

"David you are the king, you need to get a wife, please David if not for anything for my sake and the sake of the kingdom"
“Ok mom
I promise to get married, but not to Lois, and I don’t really have any one in mind for the moment, just give me time
Would you do that for me?
" But I can help you out son if you want me to" Helen tried to offer.
"I think I want you to because you are the most intelligent woman" David said
  "And you are the wisest and the best son any mother can dream of" Helen responded smiling broadly.

A month later, Helen was in her room, sitting  in front of her dressing mirror about to round Up her makeup when David knocked at her door and entered.
“Mother we should be in (harries) kingdom in the next three hour the wedding ceremony is to start in four hours from now ”
Mom? what’s wrong?
what happened? David asked when he noticed Helen looking at him
"Nothing son, I just wished it was your own wedding" 
"Mom please don’t start we are already late let’s go, David said and then they left.

While they were in the car, Helen began to list some names of princess's if David would consider any of them.
David you remember Princess Jane what do you think about her, she asked
I think she loves too much makeup, David replied what about princess Emily , Helen continued
If I marry her, the palace would be too noisy, it would more like a cinema and my kids would all be noise makers and gossiper
Do you want that for your grandchildren? He asked
HMM... was all Helen could say. She was speechless and confused.

When David and his mother got to Harris kingdom all eyes turned and were staring at them.
All the median were starring and blushing even when he had spoken to them
“Wow, oh my God his smile is killing, this must be the famous young king David of Oulu kingdom and his aunty who is like a mother to him, one of the lady spoke
Yes that’s him wow look at him I think I want to faint...
Wow this king is so handsome and young. 
You don’t need a prophet to tell you that he  has a lot of money.
I heard he is the richest king among the entire kings and the good news is that he’s not married, wow! Another spoke.

Some minutes after the wedding ceremony had started; Jessica and Jenny walk inside the compound where the wedding was happening.
"Oh my God, this place is so beautiful" Jessica said looking at her friend Jenny.
"money rules the word" Jenny said
“No, love does”, Jessica said, smiling back at her friend.
"Come on; let’s move forward to get a better view"
"Jessica, can your love give you this kind of wedding ? Jenny asked teasing Jessica.

“Was there ever a time when you did not talk?” Jessica asked jenny given her a bad look,  she know she was talking about Samson her fiance.
“I am sure that I cannot remember such a peaceful time.” Jenny said laughing

When the wedding was going on,
David found himself starring at one particular lady who was shaking dancing slowly following the pattern of the music she was looking different among the Other he observed.
She was beautiful young and small. she had the most beautiful smile and set of teeth he had ever come across in his entire life.
And he couldn’t help but smile at her even when he knew she didn't n't noticed him looking at her. but he was sure her friend the lady who was standing close to her had seen him looking at her.

“What are you looking at man” Harris Asked David when he saw him smiling at space.
That lady over there, with the red dress she’s so beautiful, I’ve seen no beauty as hers
She has this unique beauty and smile that just suits me well; I would like to talk to her. I think I love her. David said to his friend.
when he was still talking, Jessica eyes got locked with his and then she quickly turned them away.
David you are a king it would be a disgrace, if you are found starring at a common median lustfully, Harris said hoping to stop his friend’s madness.
You can get her privately when the wedding is over not now please. if you try doing that now you are going to ruin my wedding. I know that's not what you want for me.
David was still staring at her when he nodded to his friend.

Jessica was no longer comfortable with the look that was coming from her prince’s friend
"Jenny lets go home"
"Why... I can’t I am enjoying the wedding  if you want to go, I will see you at home good bye.
"Samson would be waiting for me I have to meet him; I miss him so much and I need to help my mom in the restaurant " Jessica said trying to give a reason why she wanted to leave
I can remember, real well that you saw Samson just before we came here. Jessica think about another excuse Jenny said and continued looking at the couple.
" See you later" Jessica said and left
"I can't see her anymore" David said to Harris when he didn’t see Jessica.
"don’t worry; we will search for her if that would make you happy" Harris said.

The next day after the wedding ceremony,
Harrison came and met David in his chambers and then the both went out for a walk. David was shocked by the way the kingdom had changed , it was looking great.
This place is really looking great, he said to his friend.
“The last time you came here you were still a boy , twelve years old I guess and that’s a long time"
"I always wished we never grew up; we were so free and happy whenever we were together" David said
"That’s life my friend, we just have to adapt to whatever stage we found ourselves
David, I admire you so much, I wouldn’t have asked for any other as a friend" Harrison said smiling.

Jessica left her mother in the shop to see jenny off who had showed up to gist her what she had missed... when she was returning back to her house,
David saw a figure that looks like the girl he had seen at the wedding. He started staring at her with his attention lost
David, are you ok? 
Harrison asked after noticing the absentness of his friend.
"that's her"
"who"? Harrison asked
"the girl I showed you yesterday"
Harrison inhaled deeply and then exhale.
"David you are falling for the wrong girl,  yes she's beautiful but just look at her, you don't need anyone to tell you That she's a no body.
This is not the kind of girl you should be falling for, a girl without any class" while Harrison was still talking, David interrupted. 
“She is coming this way, please could you just drop me and drive ahead I don’t want her to be scared of you because you are her prince”.

No, I can’t leave you here David what if something bad happens to you?
Nothing bad would happen to me, just go ahead so she won’t see you, I will call you when am done.
Fast she is close David said.

“Call fast if you need help” Harrison said as he drove off
Immediately Harrison left, David felt like calling him back to help him.
He didn’t know what was wrong with him he has never been nervous about talking to any lady even at age thirteen.  he started chewing his nails like a child.
The only time he could remember chewing his nails was when he had been scared of his mother and that was a long time.
Apart from that, he had never been scared to the extent of chewing his nails. What was it about this little lady?  He asked himself.
 
When she got close to him, he stopped her with a smile but at that instant, his mind went as empty as an empty pocket, and he couldn’t remember what he wanted to say to her.
When Jessica smiled back at him, David had the strangest feeling, that he has seen the one person he had been looking for all his life.
“I don’t know if you can still remember seeing me... I am David” he said regaining himself
  Yah I do remember you, you were together with the crown prince some minute ago when I passed.
Yes you’re right and I saw you yesterday at the wedding ceremony
So are you going to give me a name to put with the beautiful face? He asked
“Jessica”
"Wow that a nice name, it’s a rare pleasure meeting someone as beautiful as you. 
I don’t know how to begin, and I am not good at talking  much.
I am a novice when it comes to talking to people he said trying not to stammer.
When I saw you yesterday, there was something different about you, I really like you a lot and I want to marry you" He said with enough confidence this time.
Jessica was shocked at what he said, and the same time it was funny that she couldn’t stop laughing out crazily.
“Marry me” she asked with a questioning look.
"You’re so funny Mr. David if it wasn’t because you are my king’s friend I would have said you are in sane
You must be out of your mind; because you are good looking and you’re the prince friend, you think you can say nonsense
You just saw me yesterday and today you want to marry me or you think I didn’t notice you were staring at me lustfully yesterday.
Am sorry for you, and for your information I have a fiancé We are just waiting for somethings because we want to make our wedding huge.

David stared at her for some minute and smiled before he responding.
"That smile was what captivated me; I like it when you laugh and I love it more now that you are mad you look prettier.
You are not yet married, you can still change your decision; you are not going to regret marring me in as much as you give me a child for my mother I don’t care if it is a female or a male.

I just know you are the right person to give me a child, I want he or she to be as beautiful as you, I just need a child, that’s all just one am not asking for more"

"I can see that you are truly insane, you want me to give you a child what do you take me for?
A baby machine?
Because you're a prince friend you think you can say whatever you want to say and when you feel like saying it right"  
I have to go, please don’t wake up yet keep dreaming, Jessica said and left him still standing.
