who is charlie pistone?
It had been more or less three years, since the old detective saw her daughter Georgina. It was so obvious that both of them really missed each other. So, they savored some moments after the luscious lunch that Margaret had prepared for everyone in the house.
After lunch, Charlie sat on the couch from where he was seated earlier, while waiting for Chief Detective Fred Alred who was still talking with Georgina on the dining area.
The gorgeous lady verified to his father about the horrid act that Winston Gavino had done to her. She also did mentioned how she met both Charlie and Margaret in a countryside resto-bar, where she works as a cocktail waitress.
"Do you know much about that Charlie, Georgina?", the old detective asked in a soft tone, so that Charlie or Margaret won't hear that he's inquiring.
Georgina laughed, "Come on dad! You can ask him if you want, he's a very nice guy. But honestly, I really don't knew him much. He didn't talk much about himself, he's not like Margaret, who was so lively and talkative. But you know dad, I think Charlie was not an ordinary guy. I mean, he's human for pete's sake, but what I really mean was, he is hiding some secret identity inside that cool and calm face."
The old detective asked again in a low volume tone, "What made you say that?", the detective was curious.
Georgina leaned forward to his father's ears and spoke in an almost whisper tone, "Almost a year ago, a drunk middle-aged man grabbed my hand and tried to pull me towards him. I screamed so hard and resisted him, but I don't have enough strength to pull off my hands from her. Luckily, Mr. Charlie was there, drinking whiskey and was sitting all alone in a table near me. He saw the commotion, then with a single blow, he knocked the drunk maniac who was grabbing my hand. I also saw him beat the hell out of the other four big fellas who were with the maniac who grabbed my hand."
"Did he knocked out all those four guys too... ALONE?", the old detective asked in much curiousity.
"You won't believe it dad.. But he did beat the heck out of those stupid guys without even breaking a sweat."
The old detective drank the glass of water... BOTTOM'S UP. "That was an OVERRATED story Georgina. A man like him couldn't do that, believe me."
Georgina laughed so hard then uttered, "But he did! Dad believe me! He did! Then Margaret came to fetch him because he's too drunk to go home. The next day, they came together, Charlie apologized to my boss, then that's the time I met them. They were so happy and funny.. and lovely.. and they treated me like a younger sister.. So, that's the time that I had opened about my story, about Gavino and about you.. After I told the story, Charlie walked out and I saw him punch the tree trunk outside the resto-bar. Margaret apologized to me in behalf of him, and said that he's always like that when he's not sober."
Out of nowhere, Margaret appeared, uttered and asked, "Georgina, my dear, do you want a chocolate mousse for dessert?"
The old detective was embarrassed because he felt that Margaret had heard that they were talking about Charlie. So, with a red face, the old detective uttered, "Go eat your dessert with Margaret, I'll just finish my inquiries with Charlie."
The old detective sat on the couch in front of Charlie then uttered, "Let's continue, Charlie."
Charlie chuckled, then uttered, "Perhaps, you heard now the OVERRATED story that Georgina always love to tell to anyone, when someone in the bar tried to ask who I am. I actually became pretty famous on that resto-bar because of her story.. HA-HA-HA-HA.", Charlie chuckled and scratched his head.
Then the old detective asked, "So, was it really true?"
"What's 'true' ?", Charlie chuckled.
"The story... That you beat up all those crazy guys on that bar, WITHOUT EVEN BREAKING A SWEAT.."
Charlie continued to chuckle, "Well, I really can't say yes, because I am too drunk that time that I couldn't barely remember."
The old detective looked Charlie straight on the eyes, and asked, "Tell me honestly Charlie Pistone... WHO ARE YOU?"
Charlie gazed in a different direction then answered, "I already gave you a clue on that bookshelf. If you still remember the book on where I put my little notebook on the back of it, that will give you a little idea about who I really am."
The old detective tried to recall that book on that quote unquote bookshelf but he failed to remember it.
Charlie chuckled when he saw that the old detective was trying to think about the book he was talking, so, he tried to redirect the conversation once again, about his plans and proposition. "So, detective, do you still want to bury Gavino?"
The old detective dropped what he's thinking, and also redirected himself on the details of Charlie's plan. "Oh hell yes! Of course! So, tell me what's next after that black shoe box."
"Like what I had already said, you need to go back to Little Town today for the next plan. Its just more or less three hours from here to Little Town by plane. When, you're there, I'll tell you the details via phone call."
The old detective uttered, "But I didn't book for a return flight for today, how can I do what you're saying to me?!"
Charlie chuckled, "There's a black limousine waiting for you outside, and I already set the private plane on the airport... all for you, detective."
The old detective was beyond belief, and all he could utter was, "Who the the hell are you, Charlie Pistone?"
Charlie scratched his head and chuckled. "Just go, and do what I said. By the time you arrive to Little Town, more or less 3 hours from now, the warrant was already prepared by Julius, and by that time, just take it easy and wait for my command and wait until I give you the details of my plan, are we clear detective?"
The old detective sarcastically smiled, then throw a lame joke, "Honestly, Charlie, the way you address a high ranking police officer like me, you sounded like the next President of America."
