Heidi knew that Evan had went in search of Jared, but she was worried for him. She put some money in his account so he could have enough. 

It had been over eight months since Jared's disappearance. Evan searched relentlessly. He could barely sleep and when he would sleep, he would cry himself to sleep. It's like how you don't realize how much you need something once you've lost it. Evan took Jared for advantage. Only after Jared was gone, did Evan realize how much he loved and needed him. 

Connor broke up with Evan two months ago because he said that Evan 'needed to get his priorities straight' and that Evan wasn't allowed to 'pick Jared over him'

Of course Evan missed Connor, but he realized that Connor was kinda a douche to Jared and that Evan loved Jared. 

All he wanted was to see the funny, short boy again.

Connor was falling in deeper. he really did not want to break up with Evan. Evan had been the only person who seemed to love him. He loved Evan, but ever since Evan had noticed Jared's disappearance, he seemed to only care about finding Jared, Connor missed the Evan who loved him and cared for him. 

Connor did feel very guilty though. He noticed Jared's disappearance way before Evan did. He tried hard to make sure Evan didn't notice, but of course on the day that Connor was sick, he just had to notice Jared not being there. Connor actually didn't hate Jared though. He was just jealous.

Now Evan was gone off searching for some runaway bathbomb cronching boy, and it was all Jared's fault in Connor's eyes.

Evan was lonely one day, so he decided to text someone. 

His mom? no.

Connor? definitely not.

Jared? won't answer.

His aunt? why not? 

He texted his aunt.

Hey Aunt Lucy

Oh! Hey kiddo! 

How are you?

eh it's okay

where are you right now?

I know how much you love traveling

I'm actually in New York!

but I'm leaving in five days to go to Evanston!

Evan laughed a little at the selfie until he noticed a familiar face in the background. 

Jared.

That's really cool, do you think I might be able to stay with you for the remainder of your trip?

Sure kiddo! I'll send you the address! See you soon!

Evan now had a lead. 

Evan arrived in New York at 1:46 am the next day. 

He had four days to find Jared. 

He just hoped that he wouldn't be too late...
