"Tyler my dear! It's highly time you get out of your bed, you've got to go to school. You don't want to be too late on the first day right?" "Ugh. Coming already, don't worry mum!" In fact, he wasn't exactly ready to go since he still wore his pajamas' and he hadn't left his bed, so he hurried himself out of bed - just a bit too fast, it made him quite dizzy – and put on his usual bottom tracks paired with a navy blue t- shirt. He ran all the way to the kitchen and grabbed a sandwich, filled with tuna and mayonnaise, which is disgusting, but he had no time to complain. "Bye mum! See you later, I love you." "Have a great day Tyler", his mum planted two wet kisses on his cheeks, making him protest because Jesus he wasn't five anymore!
Finally, he could ride his bike, headphones in, and relax. Can we please talk about Alec Benjamin being the best singer ever? Since he was little, his bike and music were his way to escape the stress and hurry caused by... well, by everything really. Life is just quite stressful.
After a not-so-enjoyable bike ride, he heard someone calling him. He turned around and, to his surprise, Timothy stood there. He looked less impressing in the rain, but he still managed to let the butterflies in Tyler's belly to take off.
Tyler approached Tim', walking rapidly. "Hi! I didn't know you were going to school here," Timothy giggled.
"Not like there's any other secundary school in this town, is there?
- Well, no, you're right, I just... Didn't think of the perspective of you coming to my school y'know?"
The other boy frowned, a glimpse of sadness passing through his eyes. "Are you annoyed by me?" Tyler opened his eyes widely. He had never meant to say that! Oh my God, he should really begin thinking about what he says to people or he'd end up hurting all of them. He quickly reassured his neighbor: of course he wasn't annoyed by him!
The bell rang, and the boys hurried to their classes. Tyler was disappointed to learn that Timothy was born in December, just a few months before him. Therefore, Tim was a junior while Tyler was stuck in sophomore year. But then again, not having a terribly beautiful boy in your class really can help to concentrate.
Lessons, as usual, were terribly boring. But that wasn't the worst part of it. Not at all. There had been something during these vacations that had went wrong and, in the business of the last days of vacation, Tyler nearly had forgotten it. But now, at school, it hit him in the face.
Ben.
Ben, his best friend since they were eight, had been ignoring him all day long. And... Tyler felt utterly alone. He had nowhere to go! Well, of course, he had some other friends but they weren't Ben, they weren't the coolest (and weirdest, let's be honest) persons on Earth.
He really shouldn't have kissed him. But what else could he do? What else could he do when he his best friend was laying straight under him, all tender and giggly and so, so sweet? He had no other choice than to give in to his wildest dreams, to feel those plump lips on his, just for once. It had been the best feeling out there. It even exceeded the feeling you get when you lay in your bed for hours without getting disturbed, which is a huge accomplishment.
But good things never last and this feeling wasn't an exception to the rule.
Stupid parents.
