A Few Days Later

It was pitch black but flashlights and lamps lined the streets as the families close too those fighting surrounded the last gate. All the others had closed up suddenly but no one had returned. Hawkins was still a mess but at least there weren't gates too the upside down every where anymore. Steve was anxious as he hadn't heard anything from anyone, not even the lights had flickered showing they were here on the other side. The gate here was near the apartment Steve shared with Robin and Dustin. The place everyone had gone in.

Joyce rubbed Steve's back as he sat huddled in a blanket. He was sitting dangerously close too the gate, nothing could be seen through it which wasn't normal. It was like the other world suddenly disappeared taking everyone with it.

"They'll make it back, I'm sure of it" Joyce said even though it was obvious too Steve she was just as scared as he was. He nodded and tried too fake a smile but it didn't really work out in his favor.

Suddenly the sound of something ripping could be heard. They all looked down too see the gate slowly widening. Everyone backed up just a bit too be safe except Hopper who reached his hand in and pulled out El. She smiled though she was covered in blood. She wasn't too hurt but definitely got a beating. Hopper smiled sadly and enveloped her in a hug.

Soon everyone had come through, Lucas and Dustin came through together and Dustin gave Steve a huge hug before wandering off too hug others. Nancy and Jonathan came together and we're hugged by Joyce as Will and Mike appeared too. Will was limping but Mike was holding him up. Joyce hugged both her boys tightly. Steve looked towards the gate and waiting for Eddie and Robin. Robin came out first and it concerned Steve but before he could worry Eddie was pulled out by Hopper. He was just like El covered in blood but something was off about him. El nodded too Eddie who shrugged and took off walking in the other direction. Steve was shocked and chased after him before anyone could stop him.

"Eddie!?" Steve called out but Eddie just kept waking. Did something happen? Was Eddie afraid the police were after him? His name had been cleared after everything had been discovered.

"Eddie stop!" Steve shouted as he grabbed him by the shoulder only too be shoved too the ground. Steve was in shock and Eddie stood wide eyes shaking in front of him. His face had blood dripping down it and in his mouth were tiny fangs. What the hell...

"Steve I-I..." Eddie mumbled as he started too back away too run off again. Steve jumped too his feet before he could and grabbed Eddie's face. He kissed him not caring if he got all that disgusting blood in his mouth. Eddie was scared but kissed back after a moment or two.

When they pulled away Steve was now covered in blood too and Eddie shook again before looking away. Steve grabbed his face again forcing Eddie too look at him.

"I-I don't care what happened, you will always be my Eddie and you can't leave us" Steve said with tears in his eyes. Eddie's eyes widened as he hugged Steve tightly. Steve sighed hugging Eddie back. They stood there in silence for a long time.

"I died Steve....back with the bats...." Eddie said suddenly making Steve choke on his own spit. He coughed for a bit before he found himself looking Eddie in the eyes.

"Vecna brought me back too life by mixing my blood with those damn bats blood and restarting my heart....I-I almost killed Eleven....we would have been screwed if Dustin hadn't hit me before I could any real damage..." Eddie said as he brushed Steve's hair out of his face.

"Vecna is dead..." Steve stated more then he asked, Eddie nodded his answer. Steve bit his lip before speaking.

"Then he can't control you, you'll be fine..." Steve said as he touched Eddie's shoulder which made him flinch. Eddie looked at the ground then back at Steve.

"What if I hurt you...or I die because I'm some blood sucking vampire....yeah they cleared my name it seems by everyone's reactions but do you think they really want a vampire here in Hawkins!" Eddie shouted as he ran his fingers through his hair. He had no clue whatsoever what he should do. Steve grabbed Eddie's hands and looked him in eyes.

"We'll figure it out and if we have too we'll run, me you and this baby are going too be just fine" Steve said placing Eddie's hand on his stomach. Eddie stopped breathing for a second before letting out a breath. He crouched down too eye level with Steve's stomach and pulled his shirt up before planting a big bloody kiss on it. Steve rolled his eyes as he pet Eddie's head. Eddie stood back up and shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm sorry I got scared and ran..." Eddie said as he looked at the ground embarrassed.

"Eddie Munson running from danger? Nah, more like Eddie Munson trying too do what he thought best before being brought into reality" Steve said as he hugged Eddie. Eddie sighed and hugged Steve tightly, he was so thankful for Steve after everything he'd been through.

They both walked back too the group and most of the families had gone home too wait for their children. Lucas had already left as Erica had called and said Max was asking for him, apparently she'd gotten her sight back though her limbs were still broken. Mike had his arm around will as El told them about this thing she'd seen on television about two boys falling in love. Mike and Will looked at each other before blushing and looking away. Dustin was talking with Robin about what they'd seen as Robin shivered at the memories. Nancy and Jonathan were talking too Argyle about everything and Joyce and Hopper were sitting by a makeshift fire.

Eddie walked over holding Steve's hand and El saw them and beckoned them over. She stood up carefully and gave Eddie a hug. Eddie flinched but let her hug him. She pulled back and smiled at him.

"I know you were being controlled, I know what that's like, you are strong Eddie" El said as she sat back down. Mike was too focused on making Will laugh too notice them and Will was hiding his face in his hands.

"We'll it looks like everything ended pretty well" Robin said as she patted Steve in the back. She was smiling up at him despite the many bandages wrapped around her head. Steve winced before letting go of Eddie's hand and hugging her fully.

"I'm so glad you're okay Robin..." Steve said as he teared up, he was truly terrified for his best friend after what had happened last time. She smiled and hugged him tightly.

"Don't worry about me, worry about that baby you're growing, we gotta make sure their nice and healthy after all this chaos" Robin said though there was a hint of fear in her voice.

Eddie picked up on it and looked too Steve. Since the upside down was no more...does that mean Steve's genetic mutation could go away and they'd lose the baby? Would Eddie return too normal and El?
