Hawkins had been split into pieces, people were fleeing left and right if they could. The rest were held up in the high school's gymnasium if they weren't in the hospital. The loses were small too many but too the crew they were huge. Eddie had gone back in too fight the bats and before Dustin could get too him he'd vanished into thin air. No one was sure if he was alive or dead. Everyone was affected but no one as much as Steve.

Steve had a secret that no one but Dustin, Nancy and Robin had yet learned. Dustin because he was basically like Steve's adopted son and Nancy and Robin because he'd broken down when Eddie had vanished. I mean who wouldn't after your boyfriend was taken away by the things that nearly killed you. If it hadn't been for Eddie, Steve would have been dead long ago.

Steve and Eddie met in Highschool but Steve was most definitely an ass too him at first. It was Steve's first and only senior year and Eddie's well first of many. He was a dick too Eddie because he couldn't fathom why he had feelings for the long haired metal head. Eddie was patient and gave him space when he learned Steve was dating Nancy. That didn't mean the feelings went away though.

Seeing Eddie again after two years was definitely a shock. He was much different now and had come too accept who he was with Robin's help. Eddie was still the same goofball he'd liked back then and the two grew a bond quickly. One hour alone was all it took for Steve too confess how he felt too Eddie. Eddie had returned his feelings by giving him a big kiss and the rest was history. Well it would have been history if Robin hadn't caught them well...messing around.

Now Steve was sat on the edge of an examination bed in the hospital. It's been exactly a month since Eddie disappeared and everything went too hell. Max still hadn't woken up and everyone had scattered trying too figure out what the hell Vecna had planned. The gates seemed too be expanding slowly but no more murders had occurred.

Eleven had tried too go through one gate only too be violently tossed out before she could fully get through. Whatever it was Vecna was planning he didn't want anyone stopping him. He had been badly injured in the last battle so it's possible he was recovering.

"Steve Harrington?" Asked as nurse snapping Steve out of his thoughts.

"Y-yes that's me" Steve replied sitting up straight or as straight as his aching body would let him. His wounds were slowly healing but he'd been violently ill for about a week on top of them.

Dustin who was sat next too him perked up from his comic book. He'd dove into a comic series of Max's by Lucas's suggestion too help him deal with everything. It seemed too be helping so Steve had no complaints.

"Well most of your tests results came back normal so there's no infection but..." the nurse started hesitantly. She looked concerned and that didn't sit well in Steve's mind after everything he'd been through.

"But? But is never good when it comes too doctors" Dustin blurted out nervously looking between Steve and the nurse.

Steve gave him a look that silenced him immediately as the nurse took a deep breath. Whatever this was it wasn't good but he didn't need Dustin freaking out too.

"You seem too be well....pregnant" the nurse finally stated.

A laugh erupted from next too Steve. Dustin was laughing so hard he was wheezing until he noticed the look the nurse was giving Steve and the equally scary glare Steve had pointed at him.

"T-that can't be right...I'm male!" Steve said a little too loud, how the hell had this happened.

"We'll it would seem from our scans you are well...intersex, you aren't the first intersex person we've seen in Hawkins but definitely the first too become pregnant" the nurse quickly stated trying too calm the tension.

Dustin was looking at Steve as if he'd grown two heads. He kept scanning up and down Steve's body that was loosely covered by a hospital gown. Steve gulped and tried too avoid eye contact with everyone.

"S-so do we know who the father is so we ca-"

"He's dead..."

The room went silent and the tension the nurse had been trying too dispel tripled. Dustin hugged Steve tightly and Steve patted his head as a thanks. The nurse seemed too be regretting everything she'd ever said.

"I-I'm so sorry but does he have any close family you'd like us too notify?" She asked as Steve shook his head. The nurse nodded and handed Steve a few pamphlets before letting the boys know they were dismissed and could head home or too the safety of the shelter at the Highschool.

Steve read the pamphlets as they walked back too Steve, Dustin, and Robin's place. Steve's family had left and left him behind and Dustin's Mom had been killed in the 'earthquake'. Dustin had been so horrified by the scene he'd returned too that he hadn't spoken too anyone other then Suzie and Steve for a week. Steve had told the Hawkins police there was no need too find Dustin a place to stay as he was family and was in the process of adopting him legally though things were taking longer thanks too the chaos here.

Dustin had been doing better the past week or two but he obviously was extremely fucked up. Steve couldn't blame him, it was really bad. Robin and Steve had already been renting this small apartment on the edge of town before things went down and luckily their landlord hadn't skipped town yet. Dustin didn't have his own room but they'd sectioned off a part of the living room for him.

"Steve, you're in your head again" Dustin said playfully punching him in the arm. Steve gave him a sad smile. He was very much in his head after everything that had happened.

"Sorry, it's just a lot too...take in" He'd gone over it hundreds of times in his head. It made sense, his parents had always treated him like a disappointment and now he knew at least part of the reason why. But one thing still bugged him, most intersex people he'd ever heard about couldn't get pregnant.

"Yeah I bet, especially without...you know..." Dustin mumbled out as he wrapped his arms around himself. Steve knew Dustin blamed himself for not getting too Eddie fast enough.

"Hey" Steve said as he placed a hand on Dustin's shoulder and softly squeezed. He gave him a look that told Dustin everything he needed too know. He smiled and shrugged off Steve's hand as they finally reached the apartment. They were apartment '5A' on the first floor. Steve pulled out his keys and opened the door only too hear the fire alarm start going off.

"Sorry!" Shouted Robin as she came dashing past them with a pot bubbling over with fire. She chucked the pot into the small stream next too the apartment and sucked on her knuckles.

Steve sighed, Robin had been trying too help more then ever now that supplies were scarce and Steve was sick. We'll he wasn't exactly sick but she didn't know that yet. Robin walked back towards them shaking out her hands as Dustin turned off the fire alarm and Steve opened the windows.

"Looks like we won't be having maccaroni for dinner..." Robin huffed out as she collapsed onto the couch. She groaned as her head fell into her hands. It's been hard on everyone since the incident in the upside down. Robin finally lifted her head up and eyed the pamphlets in Steve's hand.

"Pamphlets....don't tell me those bats have you rabies!?" She shouted jumping up and putting space in between herself and Steve. Steve and Dustin have each other a look before busting into a fit of laughter.

"What!? How is this funny!?" Robin questioned as she turned the stove off and started putting away what was left of the ingredients for their now ruined meal.

"It's funny because Steve doesn't have rabies Robin" Dustin finally said after calming down a bit. Robin looked between the two trying too tell if this was a joke before letting out a sigh of relief.

"Thank God, though I don't believe in-"

"I'm pregnant" Steve said before Robin could start rambling.

"What!?" Robin exclaimed again looking between the boys. She basically flew at Steve holding his head in between her hands and staring into his soul pretty much.

"Steve Harrington if your playing a prank on me it's not funny!" She practically shouted at him.

"I'm not I'm not" Steve said pulling her hands of his face and handing her the pamphlets. Robin examined each and everyone carefully before looking back up and mouthing 'how'.

"We aren't sure but if I had too guess it's probably due too that bat that bit you" Dustin said coming closer. Steve looked at Dustin curiously, he hadn't said a word about this until now.

"What makes you think that?" Steve asked as he tried too picture what the hell Dustin was thinking.

"Well, it did bite you and ever since then you have been acting a bit weird and also there's like no way you are intersex I know what an intersex person looks like and you definitely do not have a-"

"We get the point!" Steve cut him off before he could speak further. It did make sense, maybe the whole thing about his parents was just due too him being gay not intersex.

"Wait...is Steve having a bat child!?" Robin suddenly exclaimed as she started too ramble and pace the room.

"What no!" Steve shouted as him and Robin made eye contact.

"Oh! Oh....." She uttered finally understanding as Steve's eyes grew sad. Steve looked away from her trying too fight back the tears, this child was Eddie's and he knew that but he just-

Steve was suddenly engulfed in a hug by Robin and Dustin, his tears finally slipped down his face as all three sank too the floor. How did this happen and more importantly....

.....Where the hell is Eddie?
