Sativa's eyes slowly fluttered open as she squinted at the bright hospital lights. "What the fuck?" She whispered to herself as she saw Rue sound asleep on the chair next to her. "Ruby?" She asked as Rue sprinted up with a dazed look on her face. "You're awake?" Rue asked hesitantly as Sativa rolled her eyes. "Obviously nigga" She said trying to sit up as Rue got up from her chair. "Can you tell me what the fuck happened?" The girl asked as Rue kneeled down next to her. "I don't fucking know! Fez called me saying I needed to get here like a week ago right after the play." Rue said as Sativa's eyes widened.

"A week?!" She spoke as Rue nodded. "Wait, where's Fez and Ash. And Faye?" The justly awakened girl asked as the door opened. "Sativa!" Faye spoke rushing into the bedridden gir;'s arms making a small laugh escape her. "Hi baby!" She spoke lightly as the girl pulled back inspecting her friend's face. "Did it work" Sativa asked seriously as Faye nodded making Rue give them both a weirded out look.

"What the fuck is going on?"

"Fezco?" Sativa asked as Fez passed her, her Panera Bread (Even though he called it bougie shit). "Yeah?" He asked as she look down at her nails. "Are we okay?" She said her voice now barely over a whisper as he stopped in his tracks. "Of course we are okay ma. Why you think we not?" He said as she continued to look down. "I feel your mad at me, which is totally okay because this situation is a lot, but I hate when we're not okay" She said with sadness laced in her tone as his heart broke. The two sat in silence before Fezco quietly got up sitting down on the bed and taking her hand.

"I just hate you had to do this mama. I'm sorry if I seem mad at you, cus I'm not. I just feel you deserve better than what I'm giving you" He muttered kissing her hand. "Don't. Don't do that because it's not your fault. In any way shape or form. You're not the one who shot me nor are you the one who tried to set us up, even though i've been past that." She said as he shook his head frustration building. "You shouldn't have to do-I wanted too!" She said interrupting him. "You wanna know why? Because I love you Fezo. More than anything in this world. And I love Ash and I love the little family you guys gave me" She said smiling a sad smile as her voice broke a little.

The room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of their emotions pressing down on them both. Fezco looked into Sativa's eyes, his own filled with a mix of love and regret. "I love you too, Sativa," he finally whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm not letting anything happen to you. Not ever again." he said sincerely as a grin poked through Tiva's face. "My superman" she said, placing their lips together.

"Sativa?" Rue asked making Sativa look up from where she was packing her stuff. "Yes, rue?" She said looking up as gloom casted over her cousin's eyes. "I'm so fuckin' sorry for how I treated you. I'm sorry i'm such a burden on your life" Her cousin spoke as Sativa shook her head. "Ruby, you're not a burden. Don't say that." She said, engulfing her cousin in a hug. "I knew it wasn't you talking, I only said those things because I needed you to understand the seriousness of the situation. I don't hate you, I love you dude" She says as tiny sobs left Rue's chest. Rue's tears fell freely as she clung to Sativa, her body trembling with each sob. "I just... I don't want to mess things up anymore," Rue whispered, her voice barely audible. "I don't want to hurt you or anyone else."

Sativa stroked Rue's hair, her own eyes misting over. "You've been through so much, Rue. And you're still here, still fighting. That means something. You're not a burden. You're family."

Rue pulled back slightly, looking up at Sativa with red-rimmed eyes.

"I just want to make things right."
