I stared at the book for a few seconds,then put it back in.

"Hi."

I literally jumped,and then realized it was Lukas.

"Sorry.Did I...did I scare you?"I could hardly believe that he was talking to me.

"No...no..."I blushed."Just stupid anxiety...paranoid thoughts..."

His blue eyes seemed to stare straight into mine.I forgot to breathe for a moment,my heart thudding in my chest so loudly I was suprised that he didn't hear it.

"So...tell me something about yourself?If...you know...you wanna be friends or something..."Lukas scratched the back of his neck.

"Okay.My name is Aza,you know that,I have had one friend,Rory,and until now we've been a duo of nobodies."I held my breath again.Could he tell I was lying?

"Huh.Okay.Well...you know I'm Lukas.I have a group of friends.We call ourselves The Ocelots.We've been rivals with Jesse and her gang for..."He paused,thinking."Forever,actually."

"Okay."

"Okay?That's it?Well,I'd better get back to looking for Petra's skull."

"Okay."

I watched him go and resisted facepalming.That conversation could've gone way better.

I moved through the bookshelves and over to where Jesse and Axel were looking at a glowing potion.

Ivor's elixer.

"Hey,Aza."

I jumped.Again.But it was only Rory.He grinned at me (yep,his trademark).

"You talked to Lukas?"He asked.

"Yep."

"What did he say?"

"He wanted to know about me."

Then Serious Rory came out.He leaned in close.

"What did you tell him?"He whispered.

"Nothing important."I promised.

"Good.Nobody would believe us if we told them the truth."
