Chapter 22
Another day of UA, and another upcoming class of Heroics. Everyone was a buzz, and looking forward to things. As excited as he was as well, though, Izuku had been unusually quiet. There had been a nagging feeling at the back of his mind. Almost an ominous feeling, and he wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
The only thing he knew for certain was it was probably connected to One for All. Based on his most recent "trips" inside the Quirk, and his continued discussion with the Vestiges of previous holders, he would apparently be gaining at least one, if not more, of the past Quirks soon, if he already hadn't.
His friends had of course shown concern over him, but he explained to everyone (sans Mairu) what was going on. They understood, and they were able to continue going about their school day. Today was another Heroics lesson, though this also caused it's own bit of concern for the day.
Primarily because All Might had been continuously stopped or called on his way to the school to assist other Heroes in issues that had arisen. It was especially egregious given the events of the previous day.
Nezu, as promised, had arranged for All Might to speak with the media about his position as a new teacher at UA. As planned, there was discussion that he was going to be cutting back on Hero work for two primary reasons: to help mold the next generation of Heroes and so society could prepare for his eventual retirement.
It had been a very emotional press conference, as All Might discussed at length his time as a Hero, how he enjoyed it, but reinforcing that he would not be there forever. He was still human, and it was better to prepare society and the other Heroes to be ready to pick up the slack. As it stood, they weren't ready for the removal of such a pillar and symbol, but it was better now when All Might would be able to step in when absolutely needed.
Unfortunately, it seemed some Heroes took this as a means to call him for literally every small situation they had. They even appeared desperate when they called for All Might's help. The majority of the problems they called All Might to fix was minuscule, and things the Heroes already on scene were more than capable of. There were a few issues that did call for a Hero such as All Might, though that was less than a handful of the dozens of calls he had received.
It was worsened by the fact that All Might would then have to privately chat with the Heroes that called him to resolve the lesser issues and chastise them. He did it as gently as he could, but it was still draining on his form to be out and about performing Heroics when he needed to save it for class.
As it stood, when he finally arrived at UA, he had been cut down to around half an hour, tops. He immediately went to speak to Nezu and stay out of the eye of the general populace of the school until it was time for the trip to the USJ.
He spoke with Nezu at length on how best to spend his remaining time in front of the class, which would be best to do start at the latter half of the lesson. They trusted Aizawa and Thirteen to be able to get things started, and the two had been updated on the situation.
"It may be time to introduce the Hero classes to this form, Yagi," Nezu was saying, as they continued their chat over tea. All Might sighed, as this wasn't the first time this subject had crossed his mind.
"You may be right," All Might replied, which piqued Nezu's curiosity. Before, All Might had been adamant about as little people knowing about this form as possible. "I would say we should probably wait until after the Sports Festival and Internships, though." At this Nezu hummed.
"Quite right," he stated. "They do have quite a bit on their plate, so waiting until then would be for the best."
They continued their chat, unaware of what was to come.

Aizawa walked into the classroom in preparation for the Heroics lesson for the day. He was irritated at the fact they would have to start the class without the actual teacher for the class, All Might. Well, he was irritated at the fact that, for some unknown reason, a bunch of people, fellow Heroes, took All Might's press release as an invitation to call him for easily solvable problems.
He knew that their society had gotten too used to having All Might as a crutch. It wasn't as bad in Underground Heroics, but there was still bleed over from the daylight and twilight Heroes that added to the workload a lot of Underground Heroes found themselves in.
Looking back, he realized how bad he had messed up in the past. Between his at-the-time unresolved trauma and his lack of sleep, there was the potential he could have worsened things. Finding out that Nezu had the hindsight of when Aizawa pulled his expel and re-enroll trick to not only ensure the students didn't receive a Black Mark, but were also informed of it shortly after they left the school grounds meant that things never had the opportunity to fester or cause serious lasting damage, such as the students turning to Villainy or ending their lives.
There were still plenty of trust issues to be had, especially towards Aizawa himself. In fact, if it weren't for Nemuri helping with his sleep and how close they had gotten since, he was sure there would be more issues with his current class than there was.
To be honest, his only real issues with the class stemmed from Bakugo and Todoroki. Todoroki hadn't really been a problem, overall, but he was aloof, and determined to only use the ice side of his Quirk. Aizawa had attempted to reach out, and was working on plans to get Todoroki the help he needed.
Bakugo was another story altogether. The young boy really didn't seem to understand that he couldn't get away with whatever he wanted to anymore. And this time, Aizawa had the energy to deal with the situation. Another fault of his previous self.
There were plenty of what ifs that ran through his head when it came to the Bakugo-Midoriya situation, and he honestly feared that he would be placing blame and/or responsibility on Midoriya if he hadn't gotten his act together, read the files, and viewed the relationship between the two boys for what it really was: a bully and his former victim.
He was pleasantly surprised that Bakuko had not gone out of his way to instigate anything since his second strike, so Aizawa had hoped some progress had been made after his conversation with the explosive blonde. Time would tell.
As it were, today they would be doing rescue training. Nezu had updated him on the All Might situation. Apparently, the Number One was as irritated as Aizawa was. That was another thing that had pleasantly surprised Aizawa. He and All Might actually got along well. It truly added to the perspective of how bad his former self had been and probably would have been.
He initially was not fond of the Number One, believing him to be an example of flaunting and gesturing for the masses with a big, flashy Quirk, and nothing else. How wrong he had been.
Though not a paragon of a teacher, All Might took it seriously, and was doing everything he could to catch up. Speaking with the other teachers, getting advice. He was trying, and it showed after the first lesson. Though no one could claim they were "best friends" or anything, they definitely held mutual respect for one another and had a healthy working relationship.
Aizawa quickly informed the class that they would be going off campus for their Heroics lesson. Instructing them to wear their gym uniforms again (as there were still some issues to resolve with their Hero costumes), they would need to meet at the bus at the gates. With that, he left to meet them there.
It didn't take them very long before they were at the bus, and Izuku and Momo did a good job as President and Vice President respectively getting everyone on the bus. At first, Aizawa tensed when it came to Bakugo filing in line to enter, but the boy merely sneered briefly at Izuku before getting on the bus.
The ride there had been uneventful as Aizawa listened in to some of the conversation. Mostly about Quirks, flashiness, who would be noticed as a future Pro. He did notice and was proud when some of the students made comments downing their chances of standing out in Hero work, but were quickly uplifted by most of their classmates, most noticeably from Izuku.
Before long, they had reached the USJ, and he ordered everyone off the bus. They entered without much aplomb, but the students were still in awe of everything as they looked around. Aizawa approached Thirteen, and they nodded knowingly between each other, silently conveying they had both been updated on the All Might situation.
Once that was taken care of, Thirteen began to explain the dangers of Quirks and the need to control them, while also going over some basic rules for their rescue training. As Aizawa looked over the building, a strange occurrence brought his attention to the center, as some form of purple mist expanded, and a bunch of individuals walked out. The most notable were the three who came out last: a hulking black mass of muscle, a gray-haired individual with hands over his body, and the source of the mist.
Aizawa's eyes narrowed as he took a defensive stature.
"Everyone stay back," he ordered. "Those are Villains."
==A/N: Apologies to those interested in this story for the extremely long delay. I hope not to have a year long delay again with the next chapter. As stated in my profile, I have been focusing a lot on my original works, which has taken up a lot of my writing muses attention.
Next time: The USJ begins.==
