Chapter 21

A/N: Apologies for the delay. This one kept growing as I was editing and to find a good "stopping point". On top of that, I have also been concentrating more on my original works, which I hope to have published in the future. Still working on this, but updates may be slower. Thank you for your patience.

The following day would be, from what Aizawa had said, a more in-depth review of everyone's performance during their first Heroic lesson. Though many of them had done well, there was always room for improvement, a point Aizawa had ensured his students understood. Aside from the review, the only thing they knew would be occurring today would be voting for class officers, as detailed in the syllabus.

Other than those two events for homeroom and Heroics class, the rest of the day was set for a normal class schedule. Except for Izuku and Momo, who had filled their friend-group in with the fact that Principal Nezu had made the two his personal students. They were surprised but honored at the decision, and their lessons with Nezu would take place during English and Modern Hero Art.

They would be exempt from English due to both Izuku and Momo being fluent in the language, and from Modern Hero Art, as the class had been declared defunct and replaced with a class denoted as Hero Culture. It would still be taught by Midnight, and Art would be included, but it would also focus on subject matter that would also be beneficial to their Hero careers, such as media, some of the paperwork aspect of Hero work, analysis, as well as informatics, to name a few.

As these would be covered in Nezu's private lessons as well, that time would also be spent with him, with the exception of a few days that Izuku and Momo would be better served taking the lessons with their class.

As they spoke and were getting closer to UA, they noticed someone standing in the path ahead, seemingly waiting on them. That someone turned out to be Todoroki. As the group approached, his focus was primarily on Momo, though shifted to Izuku from time to time. When they drew close enough, he spoke.

"I need to speak with Yaoyorozu," he stated, his tone implying that it wasn't up for argument. "...Alone." His last word was directed at Izuku, who furrowed his brow. Instead of any response from Izuku, the response came from Momo, herself.

"Whatever you need to say, Todoroki, you can say in front of them," she said, her tone even, but leaving no room for argument. "Not the least being I would inform them of the nature of whatever you have to say anyways." Todoroki narrowed his eyes before letting out a huff, then turned his head, as if contemplating. Finally, after a moment, he spoke.

"It can wait," he said. "If they," he indicated to the others in the group, "are going to be involved, I'd rather the conversation take place somewhere more private. I can meet you during lunch today. We can talk then." With that, he turned around and headed towards UA. There was a moment of confusion as the group of friends looked at one another before they, too, continued on their path to the school.

When they reached the gates, they were met with a sight that did not bode well for anyone: the media. It was at this moment that they wished there was another, private entrance to UA so the students could avoid them. They saw that Todoroki had already been caught up, though he gave them a chill gaze, which caused most to back off. However, the more ambitious reporters did not let the gaze deter them.

As the group approached, they were able to hear the questions being fielded by the reporters pertaining to All Might as the newest teacher. None of the group was looking forward to trying to get in, knowing they'd be swarmed, too. Which, as if on queue, one of the reporters noticed the group, and a herd mentality away from the silent Todoroki began towards the group.

It was Izuku who put himself in between the media and the rest of his friends, staring the media down with a presence not unlike one All Might emanated against Villains. This did little to deter the media, but did give them pause. One especially brave reporter still shoved her mic in Izuku's face.

"What's All Might like as a teacher?" she asked, continuing to press the mic closer and closer to Izuku. Izuku, now knowing why Aizawa disliked the media so much, grabbed the mic and snapped it in half with one hand. The reporter was in shock, and then angry as she opened her mouth to speak, likely to spew nonsense, before Izuku stared her down specifically and spoke.

"It is illegal to interview minors without consent from their parents and/or guardians," he practically growled. "You're also preventing said minors from getting to their classes, and causing undue stress. If you want an interview, you need to work something out with Principal Nezu."

"We deserve a story!" the reporter, having somewhat found her voice again, stated.

"You deserve nothing," a chipper voice that sent chills down the spine of every member of the media chimed in. Everyone turned to the source of the voice to see none other than Principal Nezu himself, flanked by Present Mic and Aizawa. Aizawa gave a slight movement of his head to indicate to Izuku and company to take the opportunity to move past the media, which they quickly complied with.

Once again, the most impetuous of the media group reached her hand out to grab on to one of the students, snagging the arm of Nakagami.

"Oh no you don't!" she said, before Nakagami reflexively used her quirk to microscope her arm out of the grasp. Almost immediately after, the reporter found herself bound in Aizawa's capture weapon. As she went to protest, she got a look at the Principal and could tell she had royally screwed up. All for a story.

The media had soon thereafter been ordered to disperse by not only Principal Nezu, but by the police who had come to place the most ambitious reporter under arrest. Nezu did state that he would contact the media to schedule an interview or press conference  regarding All Might's employment with the school.

The class had gotten to the classroom, where most everyone was discussing the media and their...intrusion. Of course, there was concern for Nakagami for the reporter grabbing at her, though most praised her for her quick thinking to escape the grasp. Nakagami was worried on how Aizawa would react, as she had technically utilized her quirk outside of UA or official Hero activities.

The room went silent as their homeroom teacher entered. Shoji and Jiro thought they could hear him say something about "vultures" before he walked up to the podium.

"I really only have one announcement for homeroom, but first..." he looked over to Nakagami. "Good quick thinking to get yourself out of that reporter's grasp. If you're worried about being in trouble, you're not. You were technically on UA grounds at that point, as well as it being deemed an extenuating circumstance." Nakagami breathed a sigh of relief as Aizawa addressed the class as a whole.

"Now that that has been taken care of, we need to discuss something that will effect your entire UA career..." there was a slight pause, and most of the class was on the edge of their seats. "You need to elect Class Representatives." This piqued the interest of the whole class, with quite a few vying for the position before Aizawa raised his hand to calm them. They went quiet to allow their homeroom teacher to continue.

"Normally, this is something I would have you figure out yourselves," he stated. "However, since most of the time that includes voting, and everyone votes themselves, this will be done differently." He paused as he allowed everyone to take in his words.

"So what you'll do instead is place two votes," he continued. "Both votes will be for people other than yourselves, with the first being for President and the second for Vice President. I'll tally up the votes when you're done." Everyone quickly got to work with their votes, some done quicker than others.

Aizawa couldn't help but sigh at the results, but allowed himself a small grin behind his scarf that he made sure none of his class saw. He quickly changed his face serious as he walked back up to the podium.

"Alright everyone," be began. "Pointless to give numbers, but the vast majority of the class has decided the same thing: Midoriya as President, Yaoyorozu as Vice. You have the rest of homeroom to discuss and select your other officers."

Izuku and Momo congratulated each other, looking at the class to see most of them give them thumbs up. They quickly spoke with who was interested (everyone except Bakugo and Todoroki) and decided on having Jiro as the Secretary and Iida as the Sergeant-at-Arms. After that was handled, Aizawa went over a more in-depth, but still rather brief overview of everyone's performance in their first Heroic's class, which included pointers for improvement, as well as praise for what he felt they did well.

The day seemed to pass by rather smoothly as they found themselves at lunch. As per this morning, Todoroki sought Momo (and by extension the rest of the group) and went somewhere more isolated to speak.

"I want you to know that I had nothing to do with my father's...attempts at ensuring our betrothal," Todoroki began. Momo was momentarily surprised, but quickly composed herself as she nodded. "However, it was due to things he overheard me telling my sister...in confidence and private...about my feelings for you.

"He thought he could win my affection, and get me to use my fire, if he got me something I desired. But I don't need him to get me what I want." He looked over to Izuku. "The minute you falter with Yaoyorozu...I will be there." Without allowing for any rebuttal, Todoroki quickly left.

"Well that was unmanly," Kirishima broke the silence. "Who does he think he is? It's not his decision, even if Yaomomo and Izubro break up...that, to be honest, I do not see happening." Kirishima's words seemed to have broken the heaviness that had palpitated the group from Todoroki's words. They soon left to enjoy the rest of their lunch.

Tomura Shigaraki was impatiently pacing around the bar. The original plan to destroy the UA gate and let the media flood in so he could sneak in had quickly sunk because of the one overzealous reporter. If it weren't for her, the rest of the media probably would have been able to stick around. Needless to say, hearing her screams as he turned her to dust had given him some reprieve from his irritation.

Luckily enough, they had a back up plan in place if Shigaraki himself were not able to get in. Their spy. Of course, they had to wait until the end of the school day to get what they wanted, which left less time to prepare.

Right on cue, though, Kurogiri's warp gates opened, smaller, which allowed a single file folder to fall on to the bar in front of the warper. Being careful not to touch the file with all five fingers, Shigaraki was quick to snatch it up. He read it with glee.

Soon, they would bring down the so-called Symbol of Peace....
