Chapter 13

It was here. Their first day of UA High School, where they would learn and grow to become Heroes. There was an excitement in the air as they walked through the same gates they had walked through a few weeks earlier to take the Entrance Exam. But now they entered as Hero course students.

Not much had gone on since they had received their acceptance into UA, aside from Mairu becoming a staple of the group. He and Mina had a clear attraction for one another, but, for one reason or another, had not been able to go on any dates, so had not established themselves as a couple.

Izuku had been able to gain a little more control over One for All, and had been having some discussions with All Might regarding the past users to obtain information on possible Quirks that may develop soon, given his progress. It had been arduous, and there were some clues, but nothing solid. They would, however, keep on the search. Though, it was made clear that would come second to Izuku's schooling and training.

The six of them had arrived at the same time, as they tended to do, and began to walk the walls to find their classroom. Luckily, Momo had taken to getting a map so they knew exactly where they needed to be. They arrived in to the class relatively early, and noted that there weren't that many people who had arrived.

Who had arrived caused a moment of tension all around as eye contact was made with the three individuals already present. This wasn't helped by the fact that two of the individuals were already in the middle of an argument/disagreement.

Izuku recognized the boy from the Entrance Exams who had assumed quite a few incorrect things that day. And, of course, he would be arguing with one Katsuki Bakugo about the other boy having his feet on the desk. At this point Bakugo had completely ignored the blue-haired boy with glasses that seemed to have a stick up his ass for a more irritating presence.

"Deku!" he growled out, his form stiffening as he stood up from his seat. Izuku merely returned the glare as there was a silent stand off.

While this was happening, a boy with red and white hair in the back of the room was staring intently at Momo. She recognized him from the Recommendation Exam as Shoto Todoroki, the son of Endeavor, and the boy that Endeavor had tried to arrange a marriage with her. He had given her the same cold stare during the Exam, but, just like now, she merely turned her head away to take in the scene before her between Izuku and Bakugo.

"What the Hell do you think you're doing here?" Bakugo said, venom dripping from his words. He pointedly ignored the boy with glasses going on about inappropriate language and something unbecoming of a Hero student. He only vaguely recalled replying something along with lines of "can it, four eyes", which only caused the other boy to go on a further tangent.

This was again, ignored, but the standoff didn't go much further, as more students started entering and looking for their seats. Izuku and the rest of the group also quickly went about checking their seating arrangement.

They were met with mixed feelings on where each member of the group sat. They were pretty split, but with others around them. They noted Tatami and Mina were the first two on the first row closest to the door. Kirishima was the third on the second row, so fairly close to those two. And then Izuku, Mairu, and Momo had the last three seats on the last row. Unfortunately, this also put Izuku directly behind Bakugo. Mairu, having heard the story since and seeing the interaction in person, offered to switch with Izuku.

"Not just yet," Izuku responded. "I'm not sure how strict this teacher is with seating arrangements, but it's something we can definitely discuss with whoever it is once we've settled." As they began to head to the desk, a voice stopped them.

"Oh, I know that green hair!" a chipper voice called out. They turned to see the girl Izuku had saved from the zero pointer. "I want to thank you again for saving me."

"It was no problem," Izuku responded. "It's what a Hero would do." The taller boy with blue hair and glasses was also approaching, looking like he wanted to say something, when another voice, this one tired, broke through.

"If you came here to make friends, you're in the wrong classroom," the person said. Everyone looked towards the voice to see a yellow sleeping bag with a disheveled head popping out of it. Izuku recognized the head as the person who identified himself as Aizawa in some of the group's acceptance messages.

"This is the Hero course," the yellow clad teacher stated, as everyone trickled quickly to their seats. Aizawa removed himself from his sleeping bag as he made his way to the podium. He mentioned something about how long it took them to settle down, told them to do better, and then pulled out a gym uniform.

"Put these on and meet me on the P.E. Grounds," Aizawa stated. He began to walk out the door before pausing. "And don't take too long." His words were said with a note of finality, and a tone that everyone in the class took seriously as they collected their gym uniforms.

They approached the P.E. grounds where Mr. Aizawa awaited them after about 10 minutes to get to the locker rooms, change, and make their way out. He looked over to them, a hint of irritation on his face, but little else could be determined by his expression.

"It took you 10 minutes to get ready and get out here," he began. "You need to be quicker, since it could make the difference between life and death." There was a pause as Aizawa looked around at the gathered group. He was even more irritable than usual due to a slight demand from the principal that he actually read the students' files this time.

He usually liked to avoid reading the files until after his Apprehension Test, so that way he didn't have any biases going in. This time, however, Nezu stated there was relevant information needed to ascertain given certain members of his class had a history, and there were some special notes regarding other students.

As such, he had begrudgingly done so. He even further realized after he read them that the rat unfortunately had a point. He would keep and eye on those that had the special notes in their files, especially that of Katsuki Bakugo and Izuku Midoriya.

The class was at least quiet as they awaited further instructions from Aizawa, which was at least one thing they had going for them, in his opinion. He gave them all one last look over before his eyes fell on Izuku.

"Midoriya," he addressed the boy. "You placed first in the Practical Exam, so you're going to start us out. Step forward." Izuku did as his teacher instructed. As he got closer, Aizawa took what appeared to be some sort of ball out of his pocket and handed it to Izuku. He then gestured towards the circle behind him.

"I want you to throw this ball as far as you can using your Quirk," he began. "You can do whatever, so long as you don't leave the circle." Izuku nodded his understanding with a 'yes, sir' as he made his way to the circle. As he stood in the circle getting ready for his throw, Aizawa spoke again.

"I've seen your record and your performance at the entrance exam," Aizawa stated. "I want you to push yourself, but don't overdue it. You may begin whenever you're ready." Izuku nodded his understanding.

He began to channel One for All, raising his percentage to his base of about 30%. The green lightning grew more defined as he pushed himself just a little further, feeling his body start to strain. He believed he was probably close to 40%, maybe a little under. He let out a breath as he reared his arm back. He had another plan that he could do with Black Whip, but he still wasn't as versed in that Quirk just yet.

"Cover your ears," he said to everyone, but looked pointedly at the girl with what looked like earphone jacks attached to her ears. Everyone, aside from Bakugo and Todoroki, seemed to take this seriously. After giving everyone a moment, Izuku surged forward as he released the power on the ball.

A sonic boom rocked the area, causing both Bakugo and Todoroki to wince momentarily, as they didn't cover their ears. Everyone else still felt it and covering their ears didn't completely protect them from the sound. After a moment, they looked up in amazement as the lightning around Izuku's body dissipated.

"These results will be a baseline on where you are to where you need to be," Aizawa stated, as he held up a device that read the distance. '5,642.4 meters'. Almost everyone's mouths dropped at the number. Five people in the class merely grinned. One person, however, quickly let his disbelief and anger known.

"How the Hell did you do that, Deku!?" Bakugo yelled, a growl to his voice. "Have you been hiding a Quirk from ME this whole time?! Looking down on me?!" Bakugo leapt forward, readying his Quirk to propel him towards Izuku.

Or he would have, had it not been that his Quirk never activated, and he fell forward. Once he had stood up, he quickly found himself wrapped tightly in a scarf. He followed the path of the scarf to see their homeroom teacher, eyes red and hair floating.

"I'm only going to say this once Bakugo," Aizawa said. "Stand down or be expelled." The ash blonde looked at Aizawa incredulously. Did this hobo think he could actually expel him? Try as he might, though, he couldn't get out of the binds.

"What the Hell is this thing made of?" Bakugo managed to struggle out. Aizawa sighed.

"It's a special fabric that is capable of immobilizing most targets," he was about to speak further when he heard Izuku make a stunning realization.

"You're the Erasure Hero: Eraserhead," Izuku stated. Aizawa was impressed, but knew, after actually reading the student files, that this boy was bright. He didn't show it as he merely turned towards everyone, finally letting Bakugo go. He kept a pointed glare at the boy, but deactivated his Quirk. Bakugo made no move other than grit his teeth and growl.

"Now that we have that out of the way, we can move on with the rest of the tests," Aizawa stated. "Normally, this is the part I make a threat that the person in last place would be deemed hopeless and be expelled as part of a logical rouse. However, given certain things happening this year, I'll forgo this particular one, but expect more in the future. As for now, make sure you give it all you can. I'll know if you're not."

With that, the assessment went underway. He noted with hope that most of the students were, in fact, giving there all. There were times where some didn't put as much effort into some of the tests as they should, but Aizawa also noted it seemed to be in fields where the particular student was uncertain of themselves in regards to that particular test. He would note those for later on what to focus and improve on for those students.

There was a group that stood out particularly more than the others: Izuku Midoriya, Momo Yaoyorozu, Eijiro Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Tatami Nakagami, and, to a lesser degree, Mairu Satoshi. There was a clear, already established friendship there, and they seemed to feed on each other's energy and determination during the tests.

Then there was Katsuki Bakugo. He definitely gave it his all, though his temperament was troubling.  And Shoto Todoroki, who, even though registered with a Half-Hot, Half-Cold Quirk, did not, at any time, use the 'hot' aspect of it. He still did well, but was holding back. Aizawa recalled his file being a particular issue, but more for what it didn't say. Another one to watch closely, especially being the son of the #2 Hero.

Once all was said and done, he collected the scores and made the placement chart.

"I'm not going to go over the total scores, but I will show everyone's rankings," he stated, as he projected the ranks.

1. Izuku Midoriya    2. Momo Yaoyorozu    3. Shoto Todoroki    4. Eijiro Kirishima    5. Mina Ashido

6. Mairu Satoshi  7. Katsuki Bakugo  8. Tenya Iida   9. Fumukage Tokoyami   10. Mezo Shoji

11. Tatami Nakagami 12. Ibara Shiozaki 13. Mashirao Ojiro  14. Ochaco Uraraka  15. Koji Koda

16. Tsuyu Asui   17. Hanta Sero   18. Denki Kaminari   19. Kyoka Jiro   20. Toru Hagakure

"There is definitely room for improvement from all of you," Aizawa continued. "But, we'll be able to work on that throughout the year. Todoroki, Bakugo, come with me. Everyone else change and head back to Homeroom and pick up a syllabus. After that, you're dismissed for the rest of the day."

A/N: Edited for people in class 1-A. I forgot I took Aoyoma out and put Shiozaki in. Fixed.
