Ch10

A/N: why must you keep me busy life? I'm very sorry I haven't updated in awhile but for the past 3 days, me and my friend have been babysitting this boy who will not shut up! And I might have been focusing on another story ;3.
----------------------------------------------
Natasha followed Guardian through a dark hole. Steve's arm was wrapped protectively around her waist and getting around objects was pretty hard to do, as he was constantly picking her up.
"Steve, put me down."
"I don't trust Guardian as much as you do."
"I don't trust her, not as much as she thinks. When you drag me out to the middle of Texas and refuse to bring the rest of our team, your trust levels are below zero."
"You both know I have big ears right?"
Natasha stopped looking at Steve and swung her head to look at Guardian. She was in full dragon mode, with the exception of no wings yet.
"No, you forgot to tell us."
"I forgot to tell you a lot of things." Guardian chuckled and pointed at Steve. "You might be starting to choke her Captain. Better set her down or she'll get angry."
Steve blushed slightly before setting Natasha down. She gave Guardian a small glare and continued the small talk between them.

"So Guardian, where are we?"
"Underground KGB site. Not all of it was in Russia."
"And how come I never knew about this?"
"Oh you did. But they fried your memory after we got to close." Guardian let out a small sigh and cleared some rubble out of the way.

"How close did we get?"
"To the point where people would confuse us-"
"As sisters?"
Guardian gave a slight nod and breathed a small plume of fire out when the path got dark.

They endured the silence that was between them for several minutes before Steve started asking questions too.
"Miss, why did you refuse to have the rest of our teammates with us?"
"I trusted you two more than the others. And I think the red cape guy was about to teleport me somewhere."
"Yea, Thor likes to put mythological creatures in a place where he can watch them."
"I suspected," she gave another small chuckle and grabbed a piece of wood and lit it.
"You suspected?"
"I just felt something off against your team. It was like the second you guys finish helping me they would knock me out and test some more horrible experiments on me."
"Thor and Clint wouldn't, Tony would and Bruce, well I don't know what Bruce will do."
"That helps so much." Guardian rolled her eyes kicked a boulder away.

Steve leaned over to Natasha and whispered so quietly Natasha had to strain her ears just to hear what he said.
"I can see how people thought you were sisters."
"How? We have different hair, eyes, hight, and DNA."
"Personality. You both have a weird sense of humor and are very independent."
"Don't forget loyal!" Guardian yelled.
"How are we both loyal? I don't remember a thing about you."
"We both stayed close to each other, protected and fought together. No agent or creature could separate the two of us." Natasha thought she saw tears at Guardian's eyes before she turned at them and growled.
"I shouldn't be telling you this much, your boyfriend is already starting to tear." She pointed a clawed finger at Steve who, in fact, was almost crying.
"Dust."
"We're getting so close to the lab there's hardly and rubble, meaning no dust."
"......"
~X~
1 hour later

Natasha saw Guardian stop suddenly and held her arm out to Steve so he'd stop walking.
Guardian blew out the torch and opened something that gave light away.
"Secret vent tunnel. I hope your boyfriend can fit."
Guardian suddenly shrunk down to the size of a small lizard before climbing into the vent.
Halfway to a corner, she turned to look at them.
"You coming or what?"
The two Avengers climbed in after her and were careful not to squish the tiny dragon-girl.

Few minutes into the vent, Guardian hissed at them to stop.
"We're at a opening, I'll jump down to make sure there aren't any guards. When you hear me hiss again, jump down."
They saw Guardian drop down and heard a few curses before it went silent again.
Steve was able to hear a small hiss and told Natasha to drop down.
The two landed, well Steve landed on his butt, and saw Guardian with a mask of terror on her pale face, once again the tall girl they met in the interrogation room.
"Look."
What Steve and Natasha saw next was beyond anything they both had gone through.
Needles and knives were everywhere. Grotesque images were gorged into their heads until the picture would cause a few nightmares.
"I was the only experiment, they were a small group. Now, this." Guardian turned away from the sight and told them to follow her.
"I know a place where we can hide in this hell."

The three of them walked through a dimly lit hallway. Doors covered the hall but made no sound. The cobwebs in some areas gave a dead giveaway that this hall was likely abandoned.
Natasha accidentally bumped into Guardian when she stopped and she gave a small growl.
Natasha saw a large door with numbers and was about to ask Guardian about it when she stopped her from opening her mouth.
"Experiment Q-735's room. The first creation in this lab room, my room."
Guardian punched a few numbers on a small lock and the door lurched open.
Steve and Natasha looked around the room.
It was barren, cold, and dark. Even Natasha's room had some color, but this was just white.
Two beds, most likely she had someone else living with her at the time. Both beds were neatly made, and the room was clean.
"They must have cleared it out once I escaped."
"What's with the second bed?" Natasha felt curious and had to get some answer.
"I had a sister."
"What happened?"
Guardian turned and looked from Natasha to Steve and finally sighed.
"Promise never to tell anyone?"
"We promise." Steve gave Natasha a teasing glare when she didn't respond.
"Yea, I promise."
"My mother, I wasn't a test-tube baby, gave birth to twins. Identical if you want to know. We were the spitting image of our mother, who, as we were told , died in birth. We only knew what she looked like as we both had, and still do, a faint picture."
She paused to get a breath of air before continuing on.
"I was injected with dragon and lupin blood as well as my sister. But she was born sick, and the lupin blood was injected in more than dragon to make her stronger."
Natasha and Steve could see tears as well her fists being clenched at her side. They watched her morph from dragon to human and back to dragon as she got angrier. They watched on in silence as Guardian was almost full dragon to the point where she had to lean over a bit to almost be on four legs.
"They should've injected less lupin and more dragon! They knew how bad she was but couldn't see that she needed less lupin! Every night she was a savage animal. And at only one year of age! A wolf creature with wings, something everyone feared. Even me. I feared my own sister! But, she was lucky. Always had a plan. Pretend to be so deadly they had to put her down. But there was still enough dragon DNA in her that it had no effect. I watched my sister leave! She promised to come back for me! And still, years later, she never did. I left not knowing if she came back to this hell hole. Then Natasha filled the hole that she left, and then they took you away from me too! I-"
Her cries were never heard as she fully morphed into a large red dragon. Long and skinny with sharp spikes and tail and big wings, she looked like one of those Chinese dragons you see in children's books.
Natasha saw a flicker of movement from the corner and she pulled out a gun.
"Steve!"
He saw the shadow already and pulled out his shield. Guardian also noticed and curled around them like a snake, her bulk blocking most of the shadow.

The shadow padded forward and out came a large wolf, larger than one of those extinct dire wolves.
The wolf had dark green hazel eyes like Guardian and had some brown streaks running threw its dark russet fur, just like Guardian.
Natasha saw that Guardian noticed this and she put the gun back in its holster.
Guardian's eyes widened and she gave a small wolf-like growl.
The wolf sat back on its haunches and gave a low whine.
Natasha was confused and tapped Guardian's scaly skin.
"Guardian," she asked softly,"do you know this wolf?"
Guardian gave a small nod of her giant head and morphed back into a human.
The wolf did the same and both Natasha and Steve gave out a gasp.

Both girls were exactly the same. Same hazel eyes, long brown hair, and russet stripes leading from the shoulder to the palm of their hands.
Guardian's mouth had a 'o' shape as the strange girl went up and hugged her.
"I never left you, I just didn't know when to come back."
Steve gave a small smile at Natasha and wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tight. They both continued listening to the two girls.
"Krystal, I thought you left me forever."
"I came back when that plane picked you up and carried you away. Do you remember hearing a howl?"
"That was you?"
"I did have more lupin." She chuckled and broke off into a coughing fit.
"Still sick?"
"Yea, I've been alive thanks to the dragon DNA but it won't last much longer. After you left, I stayed here waiting for you to return. I didn't think you did, but here you are, and with friends." Krystal looked at the two Avengers who were watching silently.
"I'm Natasha, this is my boyfriend, Steve."
"It's nice to know Guardian has made friends. It was impossible here, all the scientists were adults and were to busy studying us."
"I trusted them enough to help me blow this joint."
"I want in. You're going to need one more mutant if you want to have a chance of winning. And if we do win, I won't kill you."
"Krystal!"
"Oh relax, if you trust them, I trust them."
Krystal turned to Natasha and gave her a smile.
"But may I ask one thing?"
"Sure."
"Do you have someone who can heal me?"
"Of course, Dr.Banner can fix you, but let's get this adventure over first."
----------------------------------------------
A/N: drama, fluff, adventure? Anything else I missed? No? Good. My friends kept texting me all through the process of this chapter so I'm kinda annoyed by them right now.
But to improve my mood, I'm going to give some shoutouts to some people.
First shoutout goes to _toaster_cat_ for being one of the biggest jerks ever for telling me that she won't release chapter 4 of her story until o release chapter 3 of one of my stories(jk, I still value our friendship ;3).
And the second(and last shoutout) goes to TheColdWar for waiting as long as I am and counting the days until Age of Ultron! 2 more months, we can do it.

Happy Reading!
