While Steve loved Christmas, Natasha was a fan of the more, 'mellow' New Year holiday. Everyone got drunk and left her alone, reminiscing on the years events or catching up with pals. Then they all met up at midnight and kissed someone. Everyone usually went home after that, unless they were so drunk Tony let them crash on his couch.
This year was quite different, especially since they had a quite different Christmas to go with it as well.
The party itself went without a hitch, and Natasha found herself subtly enjoying it with a coy smile and a hand on her drink at all times. Steve came around a few times to chat and dance with her, nothing out of the ordinary, except when he dipped her down on the last dance and started to tango with the red head.
"Steve, where did you learn this?" She had asked her husband after the final dip, whose eyes had a cheeky glare to them.
"The internet is an interesting place," he replied, leading her out to the balcony.
New York, the city that never slept, was surprisingly calm this year, which Natasha was glad for. The ball was nearby, with thousands of little people below waiting for it to drop. Steve started to mouth the words "ten." "Nine." "Eight."
Natasha pulled him close and let her breath ghost across his lips as she too mouthed the final words before their lips connected. When they broke apart, Natasha couldn't help but giggle.
"Did the internet teach you how to seduce me?"
Steve waggled his eyebrows and kissed her forehead, nuzzling it with his nose afterwards.
"Oh stop it you," Natasha said as she swatted his chest with her right hand, her left on her hip. "Such a sap."
