"How is running towards it going to help?" Chad shouts over to the others.

"I don't know. We have to try and get past it I suppose", Jacob answers.

So, they decide to split up and in two groups run past the footprints on the left and right side, feeling a strong wind above their heads, like big hands are trying to hit the running teenagers out of the way.

Once they are behind the creature, the footprints seem to turn.

"I think we've got his attention", Michael exclaims sarcastically.

"You think?" Harry answers, also in a sarcastic way.

"So, what's your plan now?" Kay looks at Jacob, who does not answer.

"You have got a plan, haven't you? Please tell me you have a plan", she is still waiting for an answer.

"No, not really... I didn't think that far yet", he answers, but adding boldly, "But at least I had an idea in the first place!"

"What's that supposed to mean? Are you actually calling me stupid?" Kay commands, clearly angry.

But before Jacob has the chance to answer, Luna butts in. "We really have a bigger problem right now then arguing, who of us is dumb and who is bright."

Before Jacob or Kay have anything to say to Luna's statement, a big gust of flour is blown into their faces. They automatically have to close their eyes and when they open them again, the shape of a big troll is standing in front of them.

Slowly the whole troll comes into sight. He is huge and has a kind of grey, brown coloured skin. His ears stick out and are as big as apples. His eyes are as big as tennis balls and glow in a strange orange colour. Even his nose and mouth are big and when he opens his mouth, giant teeth can be seen. His teeth are not clean and white though, but it rather looks like they have never been brushed before. They kind of looks like they are rotting away in the troll's mouth. He is really the ugliest creature anyone has ever seen.

They stand for a minute, speechless. Then they hear Hunter's voice behind the troll.

"Sorry, I really didn't think that through properly."

Then Warren and Hunter emerge from behind the troll. When they see everyone covered in flour, they cannot help laughing. But they quickly stop, when Jacob gives them a mean glare.

The troll seems to be stunned by the flour hitting him from the back, because he starts sneezing, like he has an allergic reaction. That is when everyone realises that the troll is actually still there.

"This is your chance to get away", Aiden shouts to the others and they all turn around and run as fast as they can, in order to get as far away from the troll as possible.

"Where do we go now?" Talia calls over to the others running beside her.

"As far away from this town as we can get, before the troll ruins our homes even more", Luna exclaims.

So, the group decides to keep running, until Sunfield is but a speck of dust in the distance.

They know the troll is following them, because his footsteps are so loud that the teenagers can tell exactly how far away the troll is. They keep running aimlessly, not daring to stop to catch their breath or to look back, to see, how close the troll is. They are all exhausted and do not know, how far they can still go.

Suddenly a really bright ball of light appears in the distance.

"What is that? I didn't know there was still something else in this dessert, except for Sunfield." Hope manages to say, although she is clearly trying to catch her breath.

"I don't know. But whatever it is, it seems to be the only way out of this", Chad replies.

So they keep running towards the light, the beam growing bigger and bigger, stronger and stronger. Their eyes start burning and tears are flowing down their faces, so that they have no other choice but to close their eyes and run blindly through the dessert, hoping that they are running towards the light and not in the wrong direction.

The troll, still close at their heels, is breathing heavily, like he will collapse any minute. He is grunting, but still not giving up, like a lion chasing its pray.

Finally, they reach the light and the beam closes around them, swallowing them up like a black hole.
