Chapter Five

In Hastinapur Palace,
Abhiti had met Maharaj Dhritrashtra, Maharani Gandhari and Mahamahim Bhishma....They were happy to meet the Avanti Princess and Maharani Gandhari even invited her for the royal feast held in the evening which she politely declined saying she had already promised someone regarding dinner....Mahamahim Bhishma was greatly impressed with Abhiti after listening to some of her thoughts and ideas on politics and economics

Bhishma: Putri I would love to have a proper discussion with you on the politics of kingdom as well as economical issues

Abhiti: Sure Mahamahim whenever you wish I will be there

Bhishma: If you don't mind putri then call me Pitamaah not Mahamahim....Even though I know you for just some time still I feel that family bond to you

Abhiti: I will be honoured to call you pitamaah....Now please allow me to leave pitamaah

Bhishma: Sure putri....Do come and meet me tomorrow

Abhiti nodded and left with Vidur....They went to Maharani Kunti's chamber and seeked permission to enter....After receiving the permission they entered......Abhiti took her blessings

Abhiti: Pranipat Maharani

Kunti: Pranipat Putri....Pranipat Bhrata Vidur
Vidur too greeted her and then left to give them privacy

Kunti: You are a few minutes late....Had you been here before 10 minutes you would have met my 5 sons but nevermind you will definitely meet them later as I believe you have not yet met them

Abhiti: No Maharani I have not yet met the Pandavas but definitely wish to meet them.....But right now I am here to give you a letter that my maa has written for you.....Also she asked me tell you that you need to tell me something that has been mentioned in the letter....She said it is about some promise that she made 16 years to you and Maharani Madri

Kunti: Wait you don't know about the promise

Abhiti: I am afraid not Maharani

On hearing this Kunti was shocked but she composed herself immediately
Kunti: Okay putri but for that you need to be prepared mentally as it will be a big shock to you

Abhiti: What are you talking about Maharani?

Kunti: Child first of all stop calling me Maharani....You can call me Maasimaa as even I was a friend of your mother.... Also about the promise I can tell you only after I read the letter

Abhiti: Alright Maasimaa I will wait till you read the letter

Kunti: Dear its time for the dinner feast to begin....You should join us

Abhiti: I am afraid Maasimaa I already have promised Bhrata Karna that I would have dinner with them as I want to meet his parents....Also I am uninvited guest so I don't want to take undue advantage

Kunti: My child you are not taking any undue advantage so don't overthink....Also if you have promised I won't insist but you should spend your night at the palace only

Abhiti: As you say Maasimaa....So now I will take your leave.... Also do let me know when can I know about the letter and promise

Kunti: Sure putri.... I will tell you everything tomorrow after reading the letter

Abhiti just nods and leaves after taking her permission whereas Kunti was unable to understand how will she reveal her that promise which will change her life

At Karna's house
Adhirath and Radha were panicking knowing that Avanti's Rajkumari was coming at their house for dinner whereas Karna was quite relaxed knowing Abhiti and her nature for past many years......He tried to calm his parents

Karna: Maa, Pitashree please calm down....I know Abhiti really well and everything is perfect....She will love the food....So don't worry

Radha: How can I calm down son.....The Rajkumari is coming at our house.... I want everything perfect

Abhiti who just arrived there heard their talk standing on their doorstep
Abhiti: If its a mother who has done the everything then am damn sure it will be perfect

Radha: Rajkumari please come inside.....Its our honour to have you at our home

Abhiti enters and takes the blessings of Radha, Adhirat and Karna
Abhiti: Pranipaat and please call me Abhiti

Adhirat: We saw the way you stopped Kripaacharya from insulting our son Karna...Thank you so much putri....He is lucky to have a sister like you

Abhiti: I just fulfilled my duty....I very well knew no one would come forward selflessly and its my luck that I am here today so I got the opportunity to fulfill my duty....No one had any right to insult my Bhrata....also not he but I am lucky that he is my brother

Karna smiles on listening her response whereas Adhirat and Radha bless her internally knowing about her selfless love for their son
Karna: Radhamaa Abhiti would be hungry after her tedious travel so I think we should sit down for dinner

Radha: Oh yaa....Putri please sit I will serve dinner to you, Aarya and Karna

Abhiti: No Radhamaa....I hope you don't mind me calling you both  Radhamaa and Pitashree....Its just that I have heard this from Bhrata Karna so many times that now even I am used to calling you that

Adhirat: No putri not at all

Radha: In fact we would be honoured that we got a daughter as well

Abhiti: Thank you....As I was saying let Bhrata and Pitashree have dinner then I will have with you

Radha: But putri you are a princess and how can I allow you to eat later

Abhiti: Just now you said that I am your daughter and then you say this....That means you don't consider me as your daughter

Radha: No its not like that (she doesn't know how to answer)

Karna: We can do one thing....Since the food is already prepared lets bring out all the food and have dinner together....All four of us....We can serve ourselves (Guys I don't really like that rule of men eating first so just changed it as per my wishes through Karna)

Adhirat: Putri are you okay with this?

Abhiti: Yes Pitashree, Bhrata Karna gave a fabulous idea.... Let's do this

All 4 start getting the food outside while talking to each other

Abhiti: You know Radhamaa when I first met Bhrata he was so reserved and always had a serious face.... I attempted to make conversations with him but it took him months to open up to us

Radha: He takes time to open up to new people but as a child he was so naughty

Abhiti: No way I don't believe he was naughty....He always scolded us for pulling pranks

Karna: I had to scold you because some pranks that you pulled were risky for you and you could have injured yourself while pulling those pranks like when you decided to climb the tree for pulling a prank....Also I was the target of most of your pranks

Abhiti: Alright alright I am sorry Bhrata that I pulled such pranks that could probably injure me.... I promise you that in future whenever in future I decide to pull a prank I would keep my safety first

Karna: So that means even in future I can't get rid of you and your pranks

Abhiti (mischievously): Nope... That's not happening.... It is my right as a small sister to trouble and annoy you

Karna (sighing dramatically): Then only God can save me

Abhiti (winking): Maybe but I wouldn't be too sure

Both start laughing whereas Adhirat and Radha exchanged amused but smiling looks.....All four of them had a great time together....No one could say that the couple knew Abhiti for just a few hours....Any stranger would describe it as a happy family

At Hastinapur Palace,

Here Abhiti was enjoying her time with her brother and his family without any tension whereas at the palace a person was going crazy thinking of everything....He had hoped to see her and maybe talk to her but his hopes crashed when he noticed her absence....His mother informed him and his brothers about her plan which made him more perplexed....He just wanted to see her and get some answers....His soul was getting restless and he spent the whole time pondering and gazing around restlessly eagerly waiting for the feast to get over which was observed by his brother but the kept quiet for the time being

I know I am super late but I couldn't help it...First of all this mobile issue and then my admission issues have added to my stress.... Because of the mess in my college admissions I have been under tremendous stress, due to which I was unable to think.......I will try to update soon..... Sorry for the late update guys

Hope you guys like the bond between Karna and Abhiti
