That was all he needed to hear, as his own devilish smile plastered on his face almost as instantly as the words flowed through the man's lips.

The peculiar man voiced his story; spilling every detail, as much as every memory of that night as he could.

Because now he had a witness.

1 week later..

I stared at the screen again; for the fifth time.

I shook my head, disbelieving whatever it was that I was staring at. I took another glance, rereading it as if the words were going to change. I look towards Neji, and his face looked worried.. Extremely worried. I looked at his phone again, for what seemed like the seventh time in a row. I read the messege carefully repeating each word with precaution.

"Glaring at the screen won't change what's there." Neji stated.

"I know, but this can't be happening Neji! Maybe it was sent to the wrong person."

He stared at me like I had lost my mind. I mean it did sound pretty stupid, since it was obvious.

"Unless there is another relative named Hinata then yes, it was sent to the wrong person." he said sarcastically. I pouted, and glared at the screen once more.

'This isn't real.' I thought. 'This can not be happening.'

On the screen read the words: "Hinata, the police are on their way..they have a witness. I'm so sorry (〒﹏〒)."

She must be in a crying fit right now.

"Hinata. We need to leave now."

"And how would that look Neji? It wouldn't seem like a coincidence that as soon as they found a witness, that I disappear out of thin air." I explained. "What would be the excuse this time?"

"I..I know it's just-"

"I know you're worried Neji.. I-I am sorry that I was nothing, but a disappointment." I said through teary eyes.

"Hinata-"

Neji's phone started to ring and he answered it.

"Tenten?." he quickly put the phone on speaker before she started talking.

"Neji, why do I have a witness warning letter?"

"What?" we both asked shockingly.

"Yeah. It says that I have been asked to speak as a witness for the case of Hinata Hyuga.. Neji what the hell is going on ?!"

"U-um..-"

"And not only me, Sasuke said that he had gotten one earlier today too ! Why are we being asked to court as witnesses? Why does it say that the case is for Hinata? What did she do?!"

We were speechless. I mean..what could we say ?

My life is slowly falling to pieces.

"Tenten-"

"OPEN THE DOOR NOW! WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" yelled a voice with a series of loud bangs on the door.

"Tenten we gotta go." Neji said quickly.

"Wai-!" and just like that, he hung up.

"I SAID OPEN THE DOOR!" the voice shouted with authority.

I stood there, shaking in place, still not accepting the fact that I  fucked up this bad.

"This is happening..." I whispered solely to myself.

The banging echoed throughout the semi-small apartment; but mainly throughout my mind. The pounding erupting my hearing and tingling within my body.

"Hinata!" Neji whispered/shouted.

The tears streamed down my face like a slowly flowing river; a river full of tears.

"I can't move." I whispered; although to me, I didn't even hear myself speak; the loud noises cutting off my sense of hearing. "J-just open the door."

Neji's eyes looked pained. I knew that he felt sorry for me, he was worried; I could tell from his face. The tears almost took over his eyes, but he quickly wiped them.

"Okay." he spoke softly, then advanced towards the door.

And as if in slow motion, the door opened. They then came rushing in, ready to take me away.

I couldn't see, my vision was blurred and everything seemed to be moving too fast; I wasn't ready for this.

"You have the right to remain silent, anything and everything you say will be held against you in court...."

I blocked out the rest of what the man was telling me, I still didn't believe it.

We walked outside and towards the police car.

"HINATA! LET ME GO!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!"

I slowly entered the car, then the door slammed almost in my face. Things slowed down once again, and that's when I saw it.. I saw him.

"Naruto." I silently sobbed.

I saw him and Neji shouting at the policemen, screaming out words I couldn't even hear.

Then.. We made eye contact.. through the window.

His eyes were puffy and red, and he looked angered.

Was.. he crying for me?..

He was crying for me.

That alone made me even more devastated, and I sobbed harder.

The car drove off, and I was away from the unbearable scene.

As soon as I noticed that she wasn't in school today, I just had this incredible gut feeling that she needed me. I rushed over as quickly as I could, only to see her get taken away from me. I know that what she did was terrible, but it's not like I wanted her locked up either. I need to see her, I can't sit back and watch anymore.

It has only been twenty minutes, and her face is already plastered all over the news.

"Police had said that they do not know the motive, but they know that the infamous Hinata Hyuga, daughter of Hiashi Hyuga, was the cause of Yurio Nagatomi's death. They mentioned that an anonymous witness had finally spoke what happened on that unfaithful night, and that justice will be ser-"

Neji turned off the t.v, and irritatedly rubbed his temples.

We were all here in Sasuke's house; everyone silently waiting. Me and Neji had already mentioned everything there was to know about Hinata, about why she really ran away.

No one spoke, the whole house was silent.

"Damnit!" Sasuke shouted, and everyone turned towards him. "So that's what Itachi meant." he said irritated.

"What did he say?" Tenten asked.

"Well, it was only a few days after Hinata showed up, that I told Itachi about her. He said that he was sure that she was hiding and running away from something."

"Are you saying that Itachi had already figured it out?" Sakura questioned.

"If he already knew, then why didn't he do anything about it?" Neji stated clearly upset.

"Because Itachi isn't stupid; he wouldn't do anything so rash without any proof first.. I mean he is a cop after all-"

"Wait..wait." Neji started. "Your brother is a cop, and you told him about Hinata! Are you stupid ?!"

"Neji calm down!" Tenten shouted as she wanted to calm her crush down. Neji relaxed himself, but his frown was still clearly visible.

"I know I messed up, but I didn't think that she had killed someone !" Sasuke shouted.

Neji took a breath of air, then breathed it out, calming himself down.

"So it's your fault."

Sasuke didn't respond, probably thinking for once in his life that he was wrong.

"Neji, he didn't know. You can't blame him for not having any knowledge on the situation."

"But-"

"NEJI! We all feel upset about this okay. Stop trying to argue, what we really need to focus on, is how we are going to get Hinata out of this mess."

"What is Hinata's court date?" I asked.

"The letter I was given said three weeks from now." Tenten spoke.

"Make sure you guys don't say anything that would get Hinata in trouble." Neji reminded.

"Of course." Sauske said.

"Oh, and we will all be there for support!" Ino mentioned, with everyone else nodding in agreement.

After that, Neji explained how he would check up on Hinata until the meantime, which I argued, saying that I wanted to visit her too, but he said that they might only suggest "family visits only", to which I dropped the subject.

After a few more discussions on the court date, we all left Sasuke's house. My thoughts couldn't think about anything other than Hinata.

When I first met her, I had to admit, she caught my eye, even though I just thought of her as weird and mysterious, but then, she started to intrigue me. I found her more and more interesting. The more I gotten to know her, the better.

But then, I found out about her secret.. and I had felt so disappointed, enraged, scared, and betrayed. Because she lied to all of us, she killed someone and that frighten me. Like seriously, imagine one of your friends being a murderer.

But I could tell that in her eyes that she wasn't any psycho killer, that she is sorry for her actions, and that made me feel sorry for her. You could see the regret in her eyes, and I couldn't help but fall into her hands.

Despite her wrong-doing.. I couldn't get over the fact that I fell for her.

Yes.

I fell for Hinata Hyuga.

She might seem all dark and gloomy, but that isn't who she is at all, and I only caught slight glimpses of her personality.

But even so, I still caught feelings for this grumpy weido..

'My grumpy weirdo' I chuckled slightly to myself with my hands in my pockets, and a giddy smile on my whiskered face. I blushed afterwords, realizing that I claimed her as my own.

There is no doubt in my mind, that I needed to get her back. It might sound selfish, considering the situation, but I hate the longing in my chest knowing that she isn't here.

"I'll do anything if it means that you won't get taken away from me." I whispered to myself.

Then.. Maybe, if the gods aren't against me. If there isn't any life force stopping me. Then just maybe when this is all over..

I could ask her out.
