Pacifica's POV
I was going very fast, feeling the speed of my traveling. My feet were a bit sore from going up and down. My hands were twisting left to right as I continued.
Still, nothing feels so nice just driving by yourself in a car and feeling the wind in your hair like your troubles are floating away. I was almost back to the mansion and I was hoping to see James again. Why am I thinking that? Of course he will be there, right?
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I just shook the stars from my eyes as I swerved sharply to the right as I almost hit a rabbit with antlers on its head.
The car was leaning a bit on the right as I drifted and for a second, I thought that I was gonna topple over and crash.
Until I turned the wheel and set the car straight before I got into an accident. I took a sigh of relief as I place my hands on the leather steering wheel.
That was close.
Almost hit the poor thing.
Hold on.....
....
...
..
.
"Wait a second! Since when does a rabbit have antlers on its head!?!!" I screamed to myself. I looked back in the mirror but the mutant furry animal disappeared. I began to wonder about it.
Then realization hit me like a sign falling from the top of the Mystery shack, (That damn Exit thought it was funny to suddenly drop on me and not on Candy) which made feel just stupid and mentally facepalm myself in true despair. I live in Gravity Falls! Where weird things are as common as cockroaches in a poorly kept house, like the shack.
Oh no, looks like James' 'unique' sense of humor is rubbing off on me.
Maybe I should just think on what happened earlier today instead of the mysterious jackalope which appears only when a virgin Man-hating Goddess on her time of the month sees a guy.
I had such a fun time with the girls trying to get Star to stop worrying like a worry wart over Marco's feelings. The girl is almost like she was in an another dimension away from boys and all. Who knows?
Of course, the experience was slightly tainted by Her.
To think that Candy was flirting with James made something in my chest move.
Is this jealousy?
I shake my head, laughing to myself 'cause it's kinda impossible for me, Pacifica Elise Northwest, to be jealous.
I had this train of thought 'till I mentally facepalmed.
Great, after all these years, I still think highly of myself. Guess years of living under the guise of being the most important and powerful family in all of Gravity Falls under the illusion of being descendants of the 'founder' of Gravity Falls who was actually the town idiot made me look down on people and adopt a "I'm-better-than-you" attitude. But to be bonest, staying with Mabel and her friends, and yes, even Soos., mellowed me a lot and mildly grounded.
Then there was also...
....Dipper.
To think, that I still have feelings for him, even after his death. He affected me, his saving me from the little mini-golf monsters, and the Ghostly Axeman made me change my views on him and everyone else.
But, there is a gnawing feeling on the back of my head that I should recognize James. First time I met him, I thought he was an older Dipper for a second. But I thought that I was delusional and it was the adrenaline and near-death experience that caused me to call him Dipper, so I just threw it away.
Then again, he looked familiar.
I should ask him.
No, he'll think I'm interrogating him. I should just just quietly sneak into his room and maybe, look inside his things.
Suddenly, my head has a creepy voice of a brunette sweater-wearing teenager sending shivers up my spine, saying,
"You have finally joined us, feel the power of the dark side. Kukuku~"
3rd Person POV
Meanwhile, in a room, there was a figure sitting on a bed and cleaning a long barreled sniper rifle which was bigger than most. The figure had delicate hands scarred with cuts from many battles. Wearing, a black kevlar suit under chrome black tactical armor, upgraded with state of the art technology providing the operative with a wide array of offensive and defensive capabilities, including Monomolecular blades and personal shielding allowing to engage in close-quarters combat.
The person also possess a powerful semi-automatic projectile-based weapon in their right holster, from which they shoot kinetic-based projectiles with deadly accuracy. The all-white aerodynamically styled with orange hexagon lines sniper rifle was actually a hybrid weapon that was half-assault rifle and half-sniper weapon, the covert scientists of the organization optimized a low-recoil, semi-automatic rifle with a scope combined with incredibly fast rate of fire, making it the most powerful rifle in history, an admirable trait is its larger-than-average clip capacity, which allows the rifle to carry more ammunition than most sniper rifle, said ammunition was actually armor-piercing round.
The figure continued cleaning when an old man with a hunched back, huge white beard, glasses missing one lens and big pink nose entered the room with a humungous s***eating grin on his face. (If you haven't figured who this guy is, you should be ashamed.)
The figure looked up with a raised eyebrow saying,
"Professor, another mission?"
"Doggone it your right little miss, y'all gotta git to Gravity Falls to do some investigating 'cuz the big huncho said so because of a dead guy who was diddly doo suddenly brought back to life. Nice guy he was, too bad he melted into the gunk that gave you your super powers. Ya up for it, little Jane?"
The now identified Jane chuckled a bit at her pseudo-father's personality knowing he still lapsed back a bit to his 'phase' when he lost his memories.
"Yes, Professor. I'm ready."
She does call McGucket 'Dad' from time to time but she still called him 'Professor' out of routinely protocol.
"Good! Pines has been nagging me to call you for years but I decided give my little Jane some free time 'cuz of the missions you've been doing lately."
"Awww. Thanks, dad. But you know I can handle myself, you and Grumpy-Face have been training me."
Jane had bright crimson red hair with brown highlights going unto her shoulder, with volcanic brown eyes, heart-shaped face and a shameless smirk giving her bit of a rougish look to her. She was lean and muscular from her line of work which was usually off the books and her intense training of her body and mind by the greatest paranormal investigator the world has ever seen and a slightly crazy genius intellect scientist.
Her reputation of disappearing like a ghost after her sometimes morally questionable acts, earned her the fitting moniker of, "The Spectre".
Jane stopped her ministrations and place the rifle at her side. She stood up to her full height which was close to Dipper's height which was 5"10.
"Directives?"
"Well... the first priority is to watch Dipper Pines who is now under an alias and a disguise, soooo you might have to find info about him and second, you have to investigate the recent increase of supernatural activity in Gravity Falls. And I bet that ol' Dippy has something to do with it!"
"All right." With just a simple nod, she picked up her rifle and looked cooly at McGucket.
"When do we start?"
"Now."
Outside the Mystery Shack
"Thanks Mabel, I needed that."
These were the words that came out of the mouth of our intrepid and 'comical' hero with a small somber smile on his face after his and Mabel's heartfelt moment together.
Mabel just turned away from Dipper, with her hands on her pair of cheeks saying, "Awwww shucks, don't say things like that, you'll make me blush."
Dipper just sweatdropped at her apparent change of mood and her tendency to overdramaticize things, sometimes out of proportions. But, he felt his burden was lighter because of her words.
"So..... when are you going to tell Pacifica?"
"About what?" Dipper dreaded that question, he knew it was coming but he never expected it was going to be now.
"Don't act stupid, Dippingsauce, I'm your sister and you're just stalling." She happened to say this with a straight face and a piercing glare. She knew his mannerisms and she still kicks herself mentally to this day for not recognizing her brother, even if he was in a disguise and she and Gravity Falls were under the ruse of him being dead.
Dipper's left hand rose to the back of his head to scratch it nervously as he laughed unconvincingly.
"Sometime.... Later, uhhhh... Tomorrow! No! I mean uh, uh, uh......"
"You won't do it will you?" Mabel deadpanned at her brother's incessant blabberings and she knew he will always do so for the rest of his life, so as his biologically connected sister, she would have to deal with it for the time being.
Uhhhhh..... Even senior high school wasn't this hard.
Dipper just slumped down and had a look of shame pass over his troubled features fleetingly but she noticed it already.
"Look, I can't tell her. You are already one person too many, and I cannot and will not risk her life just because of my remorse for not telling her."
"Bu-"
"Don't guilttrip me Mabel, I know it is wrong. But..... I love her and I'm scared that she will be gone from me if I tell her who I really am, thus making her a target, risking her life for mine. I only have her back now, so I know what you feel but this is different, and because of that I am only going to reveal myself after this whole thing blows over. I'm sorry but this has to be done."
"Alright bro, I might regret 'cause it might bite me back in the ass but I trust you."
"Yes." Dipper said so, the weight of his sister's trust etched on his brow. "I know."
