Ms. Wicke hands Lillie a small plastic cup full of assorted pills.

"Are you sure this is necessary?" Lillie sighs, swirling the pills around the bottom of the cup.

"Take them, you have eye drops to take as well," she states, leaving no room for consideration.

She jokingly toasts Lillie as she swallows her own dose.

"You too? Are any of us going to be in our right mind?" Lillie murmurs as she lifts the cup to her mouth.

"It shouldn't be that bad Lillie, you just might feel a little foggy, that's all. You know we have to be very careful about how we do this."

Ms. Wicke grabs a third cup and brings them to Gladion at the front of the convertible boat. He looks up from the controls for a moment as she hands him the small plastic cup. Without hesitation, he dumps the pills down his throat.

"I've got water."

"Naw, I'm good," he says bluntly, focusing his attention back to the ships controls.

"How long?"

Gladion points at the horizon, a chain of tiny islands can be seen faintly over the sparkling ocean.

"I can't believe you can find this place on Charizard," Hau says, gawking at the partially man-made island.

"A Charizard was how I found it in the first place, a large group of them nest here!"

"That must be why Charmanders are so rare then, wouldn't take much to miss this place!"

"Yeah, Mohn seems to think that they prefer small islands like these for their nesting grounds. So yes, that's probably why it's so rare to see them in the wild."

"Doesn't surprise me! I'm actually shocked these things let us ride them."

"They are actually quite affectionate when you win their trust," Mohn chuckles behind Hau.

I laugh at the sight of him as he clumsily carries a clutch of newborn Charmanders to the large nest outside of his hut. They chirp and fuss as he sets them down, clawing at his arms to be picked back up again.

"Aw," I stoop to get a closer look at them.

"They sound like birds!" Hau chuckles as one of the feisty tots takes a nip at his outstretched finger.

"Well, are you going to introduce me to your friend?" Mohn snickers happily.

"Oh! This is my best friend Hau!"

Hau extends his hand for a shake, but Mohn goes straight for his signature one armed hug.

"I've got two other friends coming by boat, I hope you don't mind!"

"Oh, you mean those two over there," Mohn says, pointing naïvely at his children, "Say, those two look an awful lot alike."

Spotting Mohn, Lillie takes off running towards us. Gladion jogs after her nervously.

Lillie abruptly stops in front of her long-lost father. Her eyes twinkle with a sort of wild happiness I've never seen before.

Mohn politely takes her hand.

"Pleasure to- umph!"

Lillie wraps her arms tightly around Mohn, refusing to let go. His expression turns from shock to amused. After what seems like forever, she finally releases her grip on him. Gladion looks nervously at the pair, it's hard to say what he's thinking right now.

"This is Lillie," I peep, realizing she never did introduce herself.

"Lillie! What a wonderful name. Lillies are my favorite flower you know!" Mohn chimes.

Mohn glances over at Gladion, who is still standing a good distance away from the rest of us. His eyes narrow as he studies the nervous young man in front of him.

"Is this who I think it is?" Mohn mutters, leaning in closer to me.

"That's Gladion," I say, as calmly as I possibly can.

Before I have a chance to introduce the two, Mohn has his arm around Gladion's shoulder and is leading him away from the rest of us.

"We'll be right back!" Mohn shouts over his shoulder before returning his attention to Gladion.

I mindlessly slap my palm against my forehead, embarrassed at the thought of what Mohn may be saying to Gladion.

"This is going really well," Hau whispers optimistically in my ear.

Off in the distance, I watch what seems to be Mohn, giving Gladion some sort of heart to heart. Watching in anticipation, I breathe a sigh of relief, when their talk ends in a large hug. As the two grow closer, I notice a small, but satisfied smile on Gladion's face.

"Where's Lillie," Gladion groans.

I jolt out of my inner thoughts as it dawns on me that Lillie is nowhere to be found. Whatever medication she has taken seems to be working a little too well.

After a few moments of searching, we find her at the opening of a constructed cave. Completely blowing us off, she inspects the string of lights leading down in to the carved, stone staircase.

"Geothermal powered?" she asks inquisitively.

"Correct Madam!" Mohn says proudly, "Why don't you guys follow me down to my lab, I've got something to show you Moon."

"Very interesting design," Lillie mutters as she looks the lab over.

"Do these sorts of things interest you?" asks Mohn excitedly.

"I studied geotechnical engineering! Of course, it interests me," she almost seems a bit irritated that he doesn't know.

"With a focus on foundation engineering," she adds.

"Ah! So you're a scientist of engineering then?" Mohn says, her commentary seems to have caught his full attention.

"Maybe one day, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing!" she chimes as they begin to converse.

Gladion looks over the underground lab, watching Lillie and Mohn carefully from the corner of his eye. Over the past few months, Mohn and my Pokemon have made some major improvements. The once sparse, empty, islands have become a mini paradise for Mohn and my Pokemon.

I spot Hau nervously tapping his foot in rhythm to the jazzy piano music playing over the radio, so I join him. We listen in on Lillie and Mohn, pleasantly yacking away.

"I don't understand a damn thing they are saying," Hau chuckles nervously.

"That makes two of us," I laugh under my breath.

"Did you know she was like this? I mean, I knew she had to be smart, working for Kukui and all. But I have to say, I'm just as confused as I am impressed."

Hau sighs and tightens his pony tail, "I'm sure she's told me. I love her, but none of this stuff makes any sense to me!"

"Come here Moon, you have to check this out!" Mohn chimes, directing my attention to a large plastic barrel on the opposite side of the room.

Mohn excitedly sifts the strange powder in the barrel through his fingers.

"You know what this is?" he asks cheerfully.

"You tell me," I chuckle.

"Pokebean protein powder! I think it's ready for the market, and you are going to help me sell it! You can take a large part of the profits since you've been so helpful running errands for me."

"Have you ever heard of the Aether Foundation?" Lillie blurts out belligerently.

"Lillie!" Gladion barks furiously.

Mohn looks at all of us suspiciously, I can't tell if he's confused or perturbed. It's possible he maybe feels a bit of both.

"Have you?" Lillie asks her father again, giving Gladion a defiant scowl.

Mohn closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, running his fingers through his messy, sun-bleached hair.

"It's ringing a bell, although I have no idea why."

"That's enough Lillie," Gladion growls as he roughly squeezes his belligerent sisters arm.

"So, you do remember a little bit?" Lillie peeps, clearly in pain from her brothers wrenching.

Ms. Wicke's eyes grow large and she lets out a loud gasp as she walks into the troubling scene. I must say, her timing is always impeccable.

"We'd better get going!" Ms. Wicke says in a nervous, sing-song voice.

"Will everyone please, just tell me what the hell is going on!" Mohn cries over the commotion.

Time seems to stand still as we all freeze in our places.

"I might have amnesia, but I'm not stupid!" Mohn bellows.

"Medicine may not be my field of study, but those two are obviously jagged up on...something!" he shouts, pointing his finger at Gladion and Lillie.

"And you!" he says, pointing at me, "Don't you think it's weird that I can't remember where I grew up? I've tried subtly asking for your help, but you have the social skills of a- of a Magicarp!"

"I am not an imbecile! I know you all know something I don't! Please..." he whimpers as he slides to the floor, "I just want to remember."

Shocked, we all stand in silence as Mohn wipes frustrated tears away from his eyes. To my surprise, Gladion steps forward, shoving the rest of us aside.

"You're right. We know who you are," he says stooping down to his level.

Gladion takes a seat on the floor next to his father, his eyes dart back and forth as he contemplates, "You are a scientist."

"Well obviously! I know that."

"A very famous one. That is why we are treading so lightly," Gladion says calmly, as if nothing bad is happening.

Mohn shakes his head.

"You performed research at Aether Paradise Labs, which Lillie and I are heirs to. That is how we know you."

"Do I have a family? A wife?" Mohn cries softly.

"You do...and when the time is right, you can meet them."

Mohn opens his mouth to speak but Gladion interrupts, "They know you are alive. You have been assumed dead for years, so they need some time to process. I think it would be best for you to wait too. Not a lot is known about your, unique condition."

"What happened to me?" Mohn whimpers.

"You accidentally discovered a way to bend time and space, opening portals to a dimensional area...usually referred to as Ultra-Space. Something went horribly wrong and you were sucked into a worm hole. Nobody expected you to survive."

Mohn buries his face in his hands and cries in frustration. Gladion reaches into his pocket, pulling out his eye drops and quickly taking a dose to keep his eyes from tearing up.

"I have something of yours, I think you should take it," Gladion sighs as he hands Mohn Porygon Z's Ultra Ball.

"It had been wiped clean when I found it, but it used to be your closest companion."

Mohn smiles weakly when he sees the model Z Porygon expel from its ball, it seems to be to his liking.

"It's been programed with all of our contact information so we can keep in touch," Gladion adds.
