After College, Conor picked Charley up, and they went back to the accommodation that they shared together.

Yes, they were roommates. Weird right? Probably, considering they were friends and there weren't very many accommodations that were unisex, but it was more than just them within the accommodation, but they were the only ones that actually came out of the room other than to go to college.

Conor sighed as he put down his keys on the table and laid down on the couch in the living room.

Charley frowned, concerned. She looked at him, "what's up?" She asked, "you don't seem too happy."

"It's just I don't even know if I like College, I don't know if it's for me." Conor replied.

"Oh." She said, but it came out so small and quiet, that he hardly heard it. "So you're going to drop out?"

"I think so. Charley I love you, you're my best friend I don't want to leave you but-" he stopped as she cut him off.

"You don't have to explain it to me Conor, I understand." She said, "I just don't want to do this on my own. I don't want to be on my own."

"I'll still be here-" he started.

"No you won't, you'll get a job and go off somewhere and we'll probably never keep in contact, it happens with all best friends, they grow apart eventually."

"That'll never happen with us, I promise you."

"You can't promise something you can't keep." She whispered, sighing. "I need to go, to do work, we'll talk about this later," she replied, before hugging him and then going off to her room, leaving him wondering if whether or not telling her was a good idea in the first place. It clearly wasn't a good idea, in fact it was a terrible idea. One of the worse ideas he could've came up with, in the entire world.

He felt like a complete, idiot. He had to tell her eventually instead of her finding out from someone else, but he knew how she would react, she knew that he didn't want to leave her, but she was still upset, that he was still thinking about just dropping and trying to find a job.

He was actually scared what leaving her might do for their relationship.

Charley walked out of the accommodation because instead of doing work in her room she decided to leave and go to Starbucks. She was so glad she lived in the city, Starbucks was literally around any corner.

Plus she loved New York.

As she sat down with her laptop on the table and a cup of hot chocolate beside her she decided to do work, but not for college, instead for a book.

She had been writing this book for years and she always remembered when she was younger Conor would usually ask her was she was doing. She would just say "writing" or "none of your business, you'll find out when I'm finished," and at that Conor always chuckled.

She specifically always remembered one particular memory, a couple of years back when she was around fourteen.

She had invited Conor round her house to hang out, after all that was what best friends did, but because she invited him the day before and she was sucked into her writing, she forgot he was coming over. So when he came over and her mum shouted her to say that he was here, her eyes widened and she shut the book she was writing in and rushed downstairs.

She ran to hug him and practically fell into his arms.

"Char, relax, you act like you haven't seen me in years." He said, "you saw me on Friday,"

"I know, but it's been two days, we've always been inseparable, not seeing you everyday is weird."

"We talk everyday," he suggested.

"Not the same," she shook her head, "sorry I'm being clingy I just forgot I invited you over and felt bad."

"What were you doing for about five minutes before you came down and practically almost pushed me over?" He asked.

She shook her head, avoiding the question, "nothing, I wasn't doing anything interesting, just-" he cut her off, knowing the answer,

"Writing?" He guessed,

"Nope," she said popping the 'p', "actually I was reading, for once. Im trying to get into it again, it's not fun having literally no time to do anything you know." She said, lying.

He rolled his eyes, knowing she was lying, but ignored it. He didn't understand why she was lying, but he didn't think much of it.

She didn't realise it until that day when she got the Starbucks and he told her about how he might be leaving, why she lied about writing. She also didn't realise why she sometimes told him it was "none of his business".

The whole reason she started lying about writing to him, though he knew she was lying, but she didn't know, was because she was writing about him.

She bit her lip until it started to bleed, how could she not know that for all these years, she had liked him? Was it not obvious to her? Was that why she never wanted him to leave her, because if he did it would be like a guy breaking up with his girlfriend?

She wasn't lying to him about writing because she was trying to be strange she was lying because she didn't want him to know that she might be... No, it's not like that, it can't be like that she thought to herself.

She bit her lip hard and swore. Then brought up one of her early drafts of her book. She swallowed as she read it. The more she read it the more it reminded her that main character was Conor, and that everything about the main character was what she loved about Conor, what the love interest loved about the main character.

How could I not see it? She asked herself, that I was writing about him for all those years even before I started lying to him about writing.

And there he was, the person that she didn't want to see standing in front her with that same perfect smile and that same cute personality, saying "hey," and wanting to explain everything to her. Maybe because of what she though about she was... No, I can't be, he's my best friend, I can't think of him like that, she said to herself, it's strange, but he's my best friend and yet he's my best friend, why does it always have to come down to pros and cons in having a best friends when talking about feelings?

"Hey," she replied, as she offered him to sit down, trying to forget whatever she thinking about beforehand.
