The One Where It All Went Wrong - Percy POV

"Jackson if you eat any faster you're gonna choke and die. And that'll give me a headache so if you could keep it from happening that would be nice, thanks."

I looked up at Nico and grinned. He rolled his eyes.

"I'm not gonna choke, Death Breath, don't worry about it."

"Why are you eating so fast anyway?" Nico plopped down across the table from me. Immediately Will Solace was sitting down next to him, silently sliding a plate of food in front of the son of Hades.

I had to chuckle when he rolled his eyes but began to eat.

"Annabeth is getting back today, and I want to get some things set up for her."

"Well good luck. I'm sure Will can rope his siblings into helping if you want." Nico suggested, taking a bite of pancake.

Will nodded, grinning. "They'd probably love to help. They're going a bit stir crazy this week for some reason."

"Uh, the weird weather?" I suggested.

"That might be it, honestly." Will shrugged. "But yeah, if you want help just let us know."

"Thanks." I nodded and got up, heading towards the Big House to gather some supplies.

After I got what I needed I bargained some Iris kids into making a big sign with me, and making the letters shimmer different colors. In the end, it looked pretty cool.

"Will, I need a couple of human trees."

"Well that'd be me and Vicky." He got the attention of one of his tall half-sisters. "Need any more?"

I shook my head. "No, the two of you should be enough. I just need help hanging up a sign."

We went to the arena, where the poster was lying on the ground waiting to be hung up.

Will smiled. "Wow, Jackson. This looks great... are you nervous?"

I looked down at the sign. "A little bit? But we've been together for so long that I can't imagine anything else."

Vicky smiled and picked up one corner of the sign. "Are we putting it across the arena from the doorway?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I'll lead her in here with her eyes closed.... could you recruit some musicians?"

"Totally!" Will nodded as he grabbed the other side of the poster. "What song were you thinking?"

I shrugged. "Something romantic. You guys would probably know better than me, or maybe the Aphrodite cabin would be able to help?"

"Yeah, they've probably got a whole book or something."

"Alright well I'll go talk to them and meet you and whoever you can find to help in the Amphitheater in twenty minutes." I helped them get the sign up so it was hanging as straight as we could get it.

"Sounds good." Will nodded. "We'll see you then."

--------------------------------------

The Aphrodite cabin helped me decided on Thinking Out Loud. I thought it was pretty fitting, since that had been the song playing on the radio during the date Annabeth and I had gone on.

Getting the suit was easy. I didn't even get through the first sentence of my explanation before Aphrodite was shrieking in my head and a whole selection appeared in my cabin. I went with a navy blue one, with a white shirt and grey tie. The same color as Annabeth's eyes.

I also cashed in another favor with Leo. He didn't know how to do all of it, but one of his sisters did, and she promised me it would be done in three hours.

Finally, I Iris Messaged Annabeth's dad. Mr. Chase was just waking up, so I apologized before getting to the point.

"Of course, Percy. That's wonderful."

"Thanks, sir. It really means a lot to me. She means a lot to me."

He nodded to me. "I'll look forward to the invitation."

I talked to Chiron too. He'd always been a father figure of sorts to Annabeth, and I figured I'd ask him as well, even though I was pretty sure I knew his answer.

He was, as I expected, very in favor of it. As I left the Big House, I checked the time.

Two hours until Annabeth got back. Perfect. I needed to get to work.

-------------------------------------

I got ready an hour before dinner. A couple Aphrodite kids helped me get dressed, and one of them even managed to tame my hair just a little bit. I made sure I had all my things, then went to Will to check up on stuff with him.

"We'll wait outside until we see you two coming." He told me, smiling.

"Perfect. I'll see you guys soon."

I checked my pockets one last time before heading to the Big House to wait for Annabeth.

"Percy!"

I turned to see a mass of wild red hair bouncing towards me.

"What's up, Rachel?"

"I have to tell you-" she seemed extremely worried about something. "I saw a vision. It was about Annabeth, she's going to-"

"Annabeth's back!" Someone yelled.

Rachel grabbed my arm as I started towards the camp border. "Percy please I have to warn you!"

"Can it wait, Rachel? I've got something important to do."

"Percy, Annabeth isn't going to be your girlfriend for much longer!"

I laughed and pulled the little box out of my pocket. "You're telling me."

"That's not what I meant!" Rachel shouted after me as I made my way towards the camp border.

I got there just in time.

Annabeth rushed over the camp border, arms outstretched. I grinned.

She fell into Luke's lap, hugging him tightly. For half a second, I kept walking towards them, but then- "what the Hades?"

The crowd erupted into a buzz of confusion as the daughter of Athena and son of Hermes locked lips.
