It's Like A Sanders Sides Video, But Not- Percy POV

"Everybody run!"

As annoying as he was, I have to admit that Noah probably saved all of our lives.

We'd been an hour away from Camp Jupiter when the sun had set. After a twenty minute debate of whether or not we should keep going, everyone had decided that the promise of a real bed was much more tempting than the threat of nocturnal monsters was discouraging.

Of course, that meant trudging along the side of the highway in the dark, after a full day of walking through the woods, and eventually we let our guards down.

So now we were sprinting full speed at the tunnel to the camp with a horde of monsters on our heels.

Rosalia veered off and whirled, planting her feet and snapping off two shots with her atlatl before racing after Jax as he led the group.

"Hazel get everyone else inside the camp!" I drew Riptide.

"What are you going to do?" She looked over her shoulder.

I grinned and popped the pen's cap off. "What I do best."

The first monster was a telkhine. Then it was dust. I moved on quickly.

"You're crazy, you know that?"

"I thought I told you to get inside the camp with the others!"

"That's not how quests work, Percy!" Hazel hurled her sword forward and dragged a large piece of silver out of the ground, fashioning it into a spike. She sent it flying into the crowd of monsters and then swept her other hand sideways, swinging her sword to cut a swathe through the group with her powers. "We stay together and we keep each other alive!"

"Then where are the other three?"

"Getting reinforcements." She snapped.

I grunted and threw myself into the fight again. There wouldn't be any monsters left for them by the time they got out here to us.

It had been a while since I fully didn't care what happened to me in a battle. It scared me a little, but at the same time I welcomed the lack of the pain that kept hitting me in the chest when Annabeth would slip into my memories again. [A/N Wow Percy that's emo]

Something slashed my shoulder at one point, but I didn't even see what they were. Everything started going hazy, which happened sometimes when I was too focused on a fight.

It also happened when I summoned hurricanes.

Oh no, where was Hazel? I spun in a circle. There weren't any creatures left, and the hurricane I'd summoned was full of golden dust, but I couldn't see the daughter of Pluto anywhere.

Someone touched my back and I slammed them backwards with a stream of water.

"Easy, Percy!"

"Hazel!"

I dropped the hurricane and ran over to her. "Are you alright? I'm sorry, I got too focused-"

"I'm fine, I'm fine." She shook her head. "Are you okay?"

"My shoulder aches a little bit but otherwise I'm fine."

She shook her head, grabbing my hand and pulling herself up. "That's not what I meant."

I frowned.

"You were... kind of laughing. I think. It was a very strange noise, like a cackle."

"Oh, right... I do that sometimes. Sorry." I sighed, rubbing my arm just below where the cut was on my shoulder.

She looked up at me and then gave me a hug.

"Are you alright? I did throw you back pretty far."

"I'm okay." Hazel smiled. "I think Frank's thrown me farther in sparring matches."

"He's that mean to his girlfriend, huh?"

She shrugged, giggling. "He forgets his strength when he shifts."

I chuckled. "Fair enough, I guess."

Hazel glanced towards the camp. "Here they come."

Jax was leading a couple people towards us. I saw Frank and Reyna among them and sighed, running my hand through my hair.

"So you were talking to Rosi about a new name. Final decision?" Hazel asked, sheathing her sword and redoing her ponytail.

I told her and she nodded. "I'll tell the others, okay? You might want to brush all the dust off."

I looked down at myself. Monster dust everywhere.

"Good point."

Hazel ran off to greet the others, throwing her arms around Frank's shoulders and kissing his cheek. Then she whispered something in his ear. He raised his eyebrows and glanced at me, then nodded and turned to Reyna.

I had most of the monster dust off by the time they reached me. The other Romans who didn't know me were staring, but Frank walked right up and pulled me from a handshake into a hug.

"Haley, huh? I like it."

[A/N so since none of you decided to vote I asked the person I'm writing this story for (LordOfThePen) and he picked Haley as Percy's middle name and THEREFORE his name he uses at Camp Jupiter. A lot of people pick Achilles and stuff like that but I like the idea of it being more normal. Like I said in the last chapter, Haley is Riordan's older son's name.

ALSO. I'm binge watching Sanders Sides. Hence the title.]
