Chapter 5

Nate

I smiled when she said that. I finally achieved my goal of making her talk to me. Well my next goal is making sure I don’t let her get away.

After helping her to change the light bulb, she gave me a hint to get lost. I smiled at her, “No thank you then?”

“Thank you,” she said sarcastically and opened the door.

I laughed while walking toward the door, but stopped right in front of her, “What are you doing the whole day today?” I asked.

“Nothing,” she said, “I’m going to call my parents and boyfriend tonight.”

“Oh boyfriend?” I shockingly asked. Damn! She got a boyfriend??

“Yeah, boyfriend. Why you think I’m not capable of having a boyfriend?” she asked angrily.

“No, of course not,” I assured her. “Where is he?” Not in this college I hope.

“In Oxford, London,” she simply replied. Phew!

“Wow,” I pretended to be impressed, “He must be very intelligent.”

“Yes, he definitely is compared to you,” she smirked.

I laughed. “I would love to meet him one day.”

“Maybe,” she shrugged. “Now, will you leave already, please?”

“Why are you so eager asking me to leave?” I chuckled. “I’m sure you have not taken your lunch and so do I. Why don’t we just go and grab a bite?” I offered. “Come on Shy. How are you going to get to know the new me if you don’t give me a chance to show you?”

“Isn’t your girlfriend waiting for you somewhere?” she asked instead.

“You should know that I don’t have any girlfriend,” I smiled at her.

“How about GIRLFRIENDS?” she smirked again. “I’m sure they are more than willing to have lunch with you.”

“I might look like a Casanova, Shy, but I’m not. I’m a one woman’s man,” I told her.

“Yeah, right,” she mocked.

“Yeah, that’s the truth,” I told her again. “You’ve seen me with different girl everyday because I haven’t found one that I’m interested in.” I explained to her. She rolled her eyes.

“Come on Shy, let’s go have lunch together. At least when yours or my parent called I could tell them that I’ve treated you to lunch. Come on,” I pleaded making a puppy dog face at her hoping she would give in.

She heaved a sigh “Ok, I’ll go out for lunch with you and then you will leave me alone,” she warned.

“Yes, I will,” I assured her.

“Wait outside while I change,” she instructed. I smiled and obliged.

We had a pleasant lunch and I took her to one of my favourite places. She was feeling comfortable as we chattered about her life in Toronto and her boyfriend. I could see that she loved and admired him so much. Praising on how charming, intelligent and wonderful that guy is. Well I’m charming, intelligent and wonderful too if she get to know me better. After all I’m a Yale student and I’ve always achieved 4.3 GPA and above.

I did leave her alone after that as promised. Hey, I’m a gentleman who always kept to his promised. I’ve LEAVE HER ALONE on that particular day but the next morning I’m standing in front of her door. No way, I’m going to easily giving her up.

I grinned widely as she opened the door looking at me with wide eyes. She’s wearing a red tank top and track bottom looking so damn sexy.

“Nate?” she said in surprised, “You promised to LEAVE ME ALONE!!”

“I promise to leave you alone yesterday, not today or any other day,” I casually smiled at her.

She sighed, “What do you want now?”

“I want to take you out for breakfast,” I merely told her.

“I don’t want to go with you,” she retorted, “I want to stay in my room.”

“Come on Shy,” I pulled her out, “You’re not supposed stay in your room during weekends. You’re supposed to go out, enjoy.”

“I do go out with my friends but I’m not going out with you,” she yanked my hand and tried to walk back inside.

“Well, since I’m your friend you’re going out with me,” I said pulling her out again. She tried to wiggle her hand but I gripped tighter not letting her go.

“Nate, let me go,” she protested.

“No, you’re going out me. Your parents asked me to take care of you, so that’s what I’m doing.” I said pulling her down the stairs with me. “If you’re still stubborn, I’m going to drag you down,” I warned.

“Urgh!” she gritted her teeth, “You are the one who are stubborn! Just leave me alone Nate. I can take care of myself!” she said trying to pull her hand from my grip. “What does going out with you have anything to do with you taking care of me?”

“Well, I’m making sure you eat a good and decent food and enough supplies of your everyday needs” I simply told her.

“God, Nate, I’M NOT A CHILD,” she fumed. “I can decide myself what food eat and get my own supplies,” and again tried to pull her hand, “Let me go!”

“Nope,” I said and carried her up and over my shoulder. She whimpered and hit my back trying to make me released her, but I didn’t budged. Everyone is looking at us, some laughing but I just ignore them all. I’m not letting her go. No way, not a chance.

I put her on the passenger seat of my car, strapped her down by the seat belt, changed the lock to child lock so that she couldn’t open the door from inside the car and walked to the driver’s seat. She was glaring at me.

I chuckled as I started the engine and it was silence all the way to the restaurant. When we reached there, I opened the door for her but she just ignored it, not coming out from the car looking straight ahead.

“Do you want me to drag you out?” I warned her. She glared and stomped her feet like a small kid and sat at the table outside the restaurant.

“I thought you said you’re not a child, but you do act like one,” I chuckled. She gave me a deathly glare and I just laughed.

The waiter came to take our order and I’ve ordered mine while she just sat down folding her arms in front of her chest looking straight ahead with an angry face.

“You better order or I’m going to stuff the food into your mouth by force,” I told her.

She glared again and I gave her a warning look showing her that I’m serious. She finally ordered, a scrambled egg with black coffee.

“When are you going to stop bullying me?” she asked angrily.

“I’m not bullying you,” I simply responded, grinning at her.

“You don’t call this bullying? You took me out by force,  and ask me to eat by force,” she gritted.

“No it not, it’s call taking care,” I smiled sweetly at her, “I’m making sure you are well taken care of and if you’re still stubborn, I’m going to force you.”

“I’m going to tell Neil you bullied me again,” she sniffed, pouting her lips as if she going to cry.

“What? Are you going to asked him to come here and safe you?” I teased.

“I’m going to tell your parents too,” she warned.

“Don’t you want to tell your parents too? You want to call them?” I bluntly asked her, “Go ahead and tell them that I bullied you into going out with me.” I taunted and shoved my phone to her.

“Urgh! I hate you,” she said at last gritting her teeth at me.

“Yeah I know you do,” I nonchalantly laughed ignoring her glares.
