t h i r t e e n | The Sky Is Crying....And So Is Jay

"We're descending into the water." Nya announced. Zane was adjusting his gi, pulling up the cuffs and the gloves as they sat down to brace themselves for impact.

"Let's hope this is all smooth sailing for now." Lloyd muttered.

"I don't know dude...that storm looks pretty bad." Jay said uncertainly.

My eyes widened as I stared at the growing storm clouds.

"Oh yeah, it's going to hit us full force." Cole agreed.

Lloyd noticed my panicked face. "It's not that bad." He said quickly.

"Correction, at the speed of the wind and the highs chance if lightning this will be a great battle with a high chance of the ship capsizing." Zane said.

I punched him in the shoulder. "Why did you do that?" He asked confused, frowning as he rubbed his shoulder.

"Kai?" Nya called from the wheel. "Is my water strider mech secured?"

Kai rolled his eyes from where he was strapping it beside the boat. "It's here."

"Okay, brace yourselves." She let the boat down. Kai yelled as the boat bumped and he went flying.

Nya smirked, obviously she did that on purpose.

"Alright, this channel will take us straight there." Nya announced moving from the wheel.

"Unless of course the storm directs off course or the disrupted sea knocks the bounty over and we get stranded in the water." Zane added.

"Zane," Lloyd said when I glared at him. "Shut up."

"Gwen, can you help me tie these lines down?" Lloyd asked as he adjusted the sail.  I nodded and unbuckled my seat belt, ignoring the lurch when we went over a small wave.

I craftily tied the knot for Lloyd. I stood and rubbed the callous on my hand when a wave came again, this time it made a bigger lurch, sending me flying back into someone.

"Are you alright Gwendolyn?" Zane looked down at me in concern. I had fallen back and he had caught me at my armpits.

"Just peachy." I tried not to blush at our close proximity. "Just practicing my trust falls."

Zane's lips curved slightly in the small smile he makes. He pulled me back to my feet and I yanked my jacket back down and scanned the area. A small pattering sound brought my attention to the wood deck where small dots were quickly appearing on the floor.

I looked up at the dark sky as a big fat raindrop hit my face.

"Guys." I said dumbly. "The sky is crying."

Zane gave me a funny look. "I beg your pardon?"

And then lightning cracked through the clouds.

"That's not concerning." Kai said sarcastically.

"Everyone below deck." Wu ordered. "Nya, take the wheel."

I followed as rain started pouring down on me. Ick.

Zane raised his hand to the air and made a small thing piece of ice and held it over our heads. "Quickly!"

I dashed inside and we all crowded around.

"I guess now we can discuss our battle plan." Lloyd said optimistically. He laid out a map.

"We managed to get a map of the island." He pointed at one end. "We'll arrive by water mech there, the bounty is to large and noticeable so we'll anchor it at our escape route here."

I nodded along like I totally got all this. "....Nya and Kai will be stationed out front........then I'll stay as look out.....find the mech pieces....." I began to tune out until one sentence arouse.

"and we'll use Gwen as a distraction."

"Wait what?" I said in alarm. Lloyd smirked at me like he totally knew I stopped listening. He probably did and was using it against me. Tyrant.

"Oh no." I protested. "They hate you guys much more, You be the distraction. And I'm the one who knows what to look for." That was a bit of a stretch but give me a break.

"Alright." Lloyd agreed. "Jay you're the distraction."

"WHAT?"
