"You know what's concerning?" I asked.
Zane turned his wide blue eyes to me. "What?"
"That giant wave heading toward us right now."
Zane yelled as the wave rose like a monster over us.
Nya threw her hands in the air, trying to stall it as beads of sweat ran from her temple. Kai put his hand on her shoulder.
"LLOYD! Quick!" He shouted.
Lloyd spun the wheel expertly. His eyes narrowed with determination.
Suddenly his phone rang. Lloyd cursed and wedged the device between his ear and shoulder as he tried in vain to dodge the waves.
"Dad this isn't a good time!" He yelled over the chaos.
I wiped the water and wet hair sticking to my forehead as I gripped the lines attached to the mast.
"No you can't go over the grocery budget!" Lloyd snapped as Nya tried desperately to control two waves at once. Lightning struck dangerously close to us and Lloyd pushed a lever making the boats motors whirl.
"We need to get this thing in the air!" He yelled briefly before stopping to snap at his father why they couldn't go over the food budget for gummy worms.
"We can't!" Zane exclaimed. "This exact current is the only thing leading to the island. The island was taken off all GPS's for security reasons and we can't go by air or we'll be struck down by the Lightning."
"I'm gonna die." Kai moaned.
I cursed as my shoe slipped on the soaked deck. My knee now has a serious bruise.
"Well?" I scowled. "What are we going to do now?"
Lloyd swore when a wave crashed into us, drenching us more in cold salty sea water. I sputtered and blinked droplets from my eyelashes.
"Luh-Lloyd, don't you dare hang up-" Garmadon yelled from the phone as Llpyd promptly jabbed the red button with the hang up insignia with his thumb and stuffed it in the pocket of his gi.
"Guys! We're almost there! We can dock the ship and take the water mech from here!" Lloyd shouted.
"are you crazy?" Nya yelled as another wave doused us in the beautiful deep blue sea.
"It's the best bet!"
"Dammit Zane!" Kai yelled. "Why did you make us do this for a girl!"
Zane let out a sound of protest.
"I don't like the idea of going in the water that's being electrified." Jay said nervously as Nya readied the water mech.
"Dude, you're the lightning ninja. You're like, immune to electricity." Cole told him.
"Oh! Okay then." Jay said happily.
He leaned over to Kai. "I don't actually know if that's true." He stage whispered.
"We can't fit that many people in the mech so whose hanging onto the side?" Nya asked. Everyone's hands flew to their nose. I fumbled to jab my own.
"Gwen you were last." Nya pointed at me. "Zane because this is your fault, Lloyd because you have to, and...Kai because you're annoying to be with in a crowded space."
Kai gasped. "No I'm not!"
"Zane, help Gwen get on the gear." Lloyd instructed.
I fumbled with the wet suit and harness. Muttering to myself. "Can't believe this... Hate water....can't even frick'n swim...thanks a lot Nana..."
Zane adjusted the straps on the harness and attached it to the mech, helping me pull the hood on properly and then attaching the mask. He gathered the weapons ensuring I had mine before taking the bow Lloyd handed him.
I gaped. "You have a bow?" He closed the cap of his quiver and gave me a funny look.
"Yes." He slid on his won goggles.
"That is awesome dude!" I said excitedly, taking it in my hands.
"Hey Gwen, stop fangirling and hold on to the mech." Kai yelled form where he was gripping the handles I didn't even realize were there.
"Oh right." I gave back the weapon and hung on. "Ready!"
Nya flicked some of the switches. "Remember to lock in the harness line!" Lloyd told her as he adjusted his grip on the handles.
"I know..." Nya rolled her eyes.
"Then why are you moving the air vents back and forth instead of flicking the green switch?"
Nya flushed. "It's not may fault you added all this fancy stuff." She huffed as she followed his direction.
"Then how do I remember how to work every one of the mech's and you can't remember one?" Lloyd smirked.
Nya stuck her tongue out at him.
"Students. If you are going to argue you must do it properly." Wu chided them.
"Guys, can we please just get moving?" I asked.
"Oh right." Because lightning totally wasn't strik no the water we were about to go into.
Zane noticed my concern. "The wetsuits are electric absorbent. We should be fine, and Jay will be giving us a barrier using his powers."
"Yeah, that's totally what I was doing." Jay said slowly shrinking below the window.
"Okay, three two one....we're going in!" Nya announced as she moved the gear and the mech began sinking into the water.
I squealed as the cold water hit. I could feel the temperature but the suit was like a scone layer of skin, preventing the first layer from getting wet. I breathed carefully, my mask attached with the oxygen tank strapped to my back helping me breathe as the mech whirred forward.
Lloyd had apparently fixed the water strider mech with underwater capabilities, the long legs joining together to make a propeller.
"Keep going through the current." Lloyd directed her.
I felt Nya enter the channel as the water tugged me. I gripped the handles tighter as it pulled us forward.
"Uh...guys." Kai said, glancing back.
"What Kai?" Nya asked as she turned off the engine.
"There's something following us!" We all whipped our heads and sure enough a large submarine was following rapidly behind us. Zane locked his eyes on them and pressed a hand to the side of his head.
"Scanning." He told us. After a few seconds he sent it to Nya.
"I believe these are the same people who tried to drown Gwen in the tomb of the first Spinjitzu master." He reported.
"The submarine is made for moving quickly through the water. The windows are tinted and I was only able to find a small insignia of a bird on the side. I'm running some more scans to try and identify this symbol." Zane informed us.
"Let's try and lose them." Nya pushed the gear forward. The propeller started up again and I yelled as we zoomed forwards.
I glanced back and saw the submarine pick up speed as well. But what really concerned me was the rather large gun that popped out of the top.
"Zane! I need you on defence!" Lloyd yelled.
Zane nodded and let go of the handles. Staying careful,y away from the propeller he got on top of the mech and clipped himself into another hook. He managed to unrealistically keep his balance as he lay on his stomach on top of the mech. His hand shot out and ice flew through the water. Aiming for the submarine.
They dodged, the ice skimming them before disappearing into the abyss.
Nya growled and swerved as they shot some sort of missile at us.
The current was pulling us forward preventing her from doing to many fancy moves.
"Zane, try a few at a time." Lloyd ordered, his eyes fixed on the submarine.
"Maybe try a shuriken?" Kai yelled as we dodged again.
"Judging by the scan I made I was able to do a review of the subs makeup. Unfortunately a shuriken would not hinder their attack only forcing us to lose a weapon." Zane said as he flung two more blasts of ice.
The submarine flipped on its side, the ice moving past them before turning back on its front.
"They're good." Nya said in a deep menacing tone. "We're going to have to get crazy."
"What does that mean?" I asked suspiciously.
Suddenly Lloyd unclipped himself. He went flying back and landed on the submarine. He drew his katana and carefully made his way to the missiles gun who was currently now aiming at him.
"Oh-"
