So um this chapter is a little on the long side, I was gonna split it into two parts but decided against it since the first chapter was pretty short.

But in this chapter you are gonna be meeting characters! So...that is mostly why this chapter is so long, I tried to add a little background about the character through Ty's eyes. So I hope you all enjoy and hopefully the next chapter will be taken place Inshire!

*Tyler Ellis's P.O.V*

"Hey, do you know where Jason is?" I ask Dan as I walk into his little testing area. He turns to me, I chuckle seeing that clearly he was testing one of his inventions and it exploded in his face. He lowers his goggles so that hang around his neck. He shakes his head.

"I haven't seen him all day, he said he would help me with this test and it kind of explode in my face." He said. I smile a little seeing the evidence of black smudges on his face and tears in his shirt. He also has dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin that is oftentimes covered in black smudges or dirt from his inventions, his white shirt is half covered in black and has tears in it, black pants, brown boots, and he must have taken his jacket off before something exploded on him.

Dan Middleton is the Sky Army's weapons inventor. And he has brought to Adam a lot of cool stuff that we use today, but sometimes I wonder if he has lost his mind already hence why he was give his own building and testing area so he doesn't destroy something or hurt someone other than himself. I know that Jason helps Dan sometimes though. Dan is a nice guy, he is also a very smart guy too, but you got to wonder for someone who accidentally turned his ow dog into a skeleton dog whether they are insane or not, we all do. But Dan mostly stays to his inventions, he doesn't really show his face much because he isn't quite the talker really.

"I can tell it did." I said. I cross my arms. "When was the last time you saw him?"

"Yesterday, right before he left for the night alone." He said. Alone? During times like these? I know Jason can hold his own, but with the Squid King on a rise, trying to take of Minecraftia, alone with an ambush can easily get one of us killed or captured. I take a few steps back.

"T-Thanks..by the way, what explode--You know what, I don't wanna know anymore." I said turning from Dan.

"Bye!" He said. I smile a little and wave back at him as I leave him heading to where I last saw Sky. I smile when I see Alesa hit Adam's shoulder and Mason laughs while Adam grabs his arm looking hurt.

"Ooooowwwww! That's abuse." Adam whined. Alesa motions to Mason who is standing beside them.

"Stop encouraging him! He already acts like you and it isn't cute anymore." She said. I walk besides Mason. I see Adam smile.

"I can't help it if he wants to be a--"

"Ty." Alesa interrupted. They look at me. Alesa Dahlberg has short dark red hair, brown eyes, a black skirt with black boots, red tank top, dark brown jacket and tanned skin. She isn't a fighter like everyone else is, but Sky did teach her how to handle a knife effectively just in case something happens. Alesa is the reason as to why I don't need to worried about Adam's health declining because she will make sure he is has had everything before he leaves their home off-base.

I remember this one time Adam was hours late because he overslept and Alesa wouldn't wake him up. I know she is a very sweet and nice girl, but it is a good thing she has patience and a bossy side or else I don't think she could handle marrying Adam like she did.

Commander Adam Dalhberg, otherwise known as Commander Sky. He has yellow eyes, tanned skin, dark brown hair in a small ponytail, a black cloak with a hood, a dark grey shirt, a purple amethyst amulet around his neck, black cloth fingerless gloves, black sunglasses are sitting on his head, and duel swords strapped to his back. The Leader and the main creator of the Sky Army and everyone's boss who happens to be here, expect for Alesa who is basically Adam's boss. Adam is a gifted fighter, he always beats me when we spar and I hate it because I want to win at least once and have it be a fair fight.

People call him Sky sometimes because...well we all really don't know why it just grew on all of us, so we call him that once in a while. I don't know how many times new recruits tell me that Adam isn't the person they expected him to be, they expected him to be more serious. I just tell them that Adam is this carefree and goofy side when nothing bad is happening, and I think it's all the stress that makes him like this. When in time of crisis, like right now, he turns into exactly what everyone who hasn't met him expects him to be.

Adam might not seem like it, but he is actually a pretty smart and clever guy, just listen to one of his battle strategies and you'll understand how insane he truly is...and what's more crazy is they almost always work..He's my best friend and I admire him a lot, but I hated the days before Alesa when I had to worry about him passing out from exhaustion or him not eating anything because he is drowned in paperwork. So Alesa coming had to be the best thing that has ever happened to the Sky Army, she fixed our Commander more than any of us, including the captains, ever could.

The thing is though, he takes things too hard, that's something I never liked about him. He takes casualties and the death count too hard on himself, especially after what happened to Barney and even though he won't say it, I know that really affected him. Barney was sort of a friend to all, it affected all of us, but because of it Adam isn't so hasty anymore and I have yet to decide whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Than there is Mason Dahlberg, Alesa and Adam's sixteen year old son. He has brown eyes, brown curly hair, pale skin, skinny with dark blue jeans, gray sneakers, a white shirt and a black jacket with a sword strapped to his left side. Mason is gonna inherit the Sky Army since he is Adam's son, but right now Adam told me that he skeptical about it because he feels like Mason can't handle the responsibility and pressure of running an army base because Mason can be selfish and rude.

I do agree with Adam though. But I've seen Mason get tested in combat before during a squid attack. He is really good, almost as good as Adam but I wouldn't go that far since I still am able to pin him down in a sparring match. Mason does do assignments that Adam gives him that he takes with Ashley who tags along almost always. Although Alesa wants her approval first before Mason takes it, but I'm pretty sure Adam wouldn't send his own son someplace that Mason and Ashley couldn't handle. And as much as I look forward to the day that Mason becomes leader, I don't want that day to come because I'm afraid that will mean that we have lost Adam. I look at Adam.

"Dan said he went home alone last night and hasn't seen him all day. He was suppose to help him with a test, but never showed up." I said. Adam turns more to me, thinking while I see concern in Alesa's eyes.

"What's wrong? Who are you talking about?" Alesa asks. Adam sighs.

"It's Jason, he hasn't shown up yet. If those squids got their hands on him I swear to notch they will regret it." Adam said. I nod agreeing.

"I'll go and check--"

"Go alone? Not gonna happen, we don't need someone else disappearing. And Jess, Seto, Jerome, and Mitch went to his place to check it out." Adam said. Oh..okay. I guess that is one way, I wanted to go too because I'm really worried. And I can tell Adam and I are thinking the same thing.

"What if the squids took Jason?" I ask.

"I-I don't know. But we'll figure something out." Adam said sort of shaky at the start. I shift in my spot a little, I'm just as anxious as he is. I want to know where Jason is...and if the squids have something to do with this.

When Jess and Mitch came back, Jess was holding Jason's sword and it had blue blood staining the blade and was also missing half of it since half of the blade is gone. We all met in the Great Hall after the came back. The recruits seemed worried, I mean the blade shows evidence of Squid interference and Jason is important in the base. The recruits really like him. But what broke Jason's sword in half?

"They brought this upon themselves, Adam. We should attack them and get Jason back." Captain Max LaPlume said to Adam. I look over at Max. He is one of the major captains in the base. He has dark red hair, a black and dark grey striped shirt, black pants with sneakers and brown eyes. And his sword strapped to his back. Although he won't admit it, Max has a major angry problem that has gotten Adam and other people in trouble in more ways than one.

The recruits like calling him Mad Max because of his temper. But Max is a very loyal and trustworthy person, and he won't admit this either because it might hurt his reputation, he cares a lot about his friends and family. Like Adam, he can create very creative plans and not evening having to involve any current threat either, but the thing is that they always end up with someone he absolutely hates dead or has questionably vanished for a very long time.

I look at Adam, he is holding the sword by the handle where there are blue blood stains where it was broken, and he is staring at it as if he might find something else hidden. Usually Adam would agree with Max in that, but it's the fact this is almost how Barney went that he is hesitant.

I look at Max. Seto had stayed behind according to Mitch, he said that Seto felt like magic has to interfere in this. And Jerome stayed to protect Seto, even though everyone knows that Seto can protect himself, Jerome said he felt like he should stay, just in case.

"Yeah, Commander. You are trying to avoid a pending war that is gonna happen whether you like it or not." Jess said supporting Max. I look over at Jess. As much as I agree with Jess, Adam won't. I know he won't because of the death count and casualties and Barney.

"W-We cannot attack Squid HQ, we aren't prepared for an attack like that. Let's wait before we decide something that serious, Jessica." I said to her. Jessica Aphmau, otherwise known as Jess, is one of the best recruits in the base, and has made her way to earn herself to be in here. She has long black hair, a skin tight dark purple tank top with a grey jacket, amber eyes, a black ring on her hand since she happens to be married, dark skin tone, and black boots. She is very good with knives and has been best friends with Jason since they were kids. She is married to a guy named Zane who doesn't work for us but for the Kingdom, she married him about two years ago. But she told me that she likes Jason more than Zane because she feels Jason understands her and listens to her when no one else will. So I don't know why she never told him though.

I know, like Seto, Jason is really shy around girls he likes or ones flirting with him. But he isn't oblivious like Captain Jordan who can't take a hint from a girl to save his own life. (And that couldn't be more true! He is so oblivious to that! Just watch Mianite Season two; poor Ianite..) Adam leans back in his seat, pausing before he finally speaks. His gaze goes other to Mitch and Jess.

"Any Squid carcasses?" He asks them. Mitch shakes his head.

"Nothing but a bunch of blue blood, nothing dead. And no, we couldn't find the missing clunk of his sword." General Mitchell Hughes said. Otherwise known as Mitch since that's just easier. He is one of the Seven Major Generals and is head of the archery department and training since he happens to be one of best archers in Minecraftia. He is also a great tracker compared to all of us. Mitch has a black and red checkered hoodie with a white shirt and a golden dog tag around his neck, a black quiver and bow on his back, blue jeans, brown eyes and caramel brown hair. Mitch is a nice and good-looking guy as well and yet his mind can wonder off too easily into his own little world of his. He happens to be the best tracker in the army base and is quite good under pressure as well.

Also he has told me that he has never been interested in leading, he is more of a devoted follower type of person. And he has proven that many times, he has taken hits and still found the strength to get back up and keep fighting before passing out from blood loss or exhaustion or Jerome makes him stop because Jerome and Jason are the only people he will actually listen to. "The thing is, are we absolutely sure that is Jason's sword?" We all look at him.

"What are you getting at?" I ask. Mitch walks beside Adam, looking at the broken sword.

"Jeffrey's tracks were there, around the area and were fresh meaning he was there. And yet his tracks didn't show any sign of panic meaning that something did happen to Jason and Jeffrey, but it happened before the squids showed up." Mitch said. Adam stands up, looking at Mitch.

"I'll believe that. Jason knows how to use a sword." Adam said looking at all of us. He sets the broken sword on the table. "I'll have the blacksmith who made his sword look at it to confirm whether this is indeed Jason's sword or not. For now, watch your backs and no one leaves this base anymore without mine or Seto's or Ty's approval." We all nod understanding.

I starting heading to the cafeteria to get some dinner, but I noticed someone running towards the gate. I walk to the closed gate and my eyes widen. It's Jerome and he is carrying Seto on his back.

"Open the gate!" I yelled and the recruits scrambled to open it. I take a step back. I look at a guard. "Get the Commander down here." They nod and take off running. Jerome slows down panting heavily next to me. I look at Seto. His head and arms are hanging over Jerome's shoulders. "Is he alive?" Jerome nods.

"He..He just..fainted..all of a sudden. No..warning." He panted trying to catch his breathe. I see Seto's hand twitch and he groans. Jerome stands up a little straight, gripping Seto's knees.

General Jerome Aceti has dark brown hair and a beard, dark skin tone, brown eyes, a black jacket with a dark shirt half opened shirt, black pants and his blue axe somehow on his belt loop instead of on his back. Jerome is another General that is one of the Seven Major Generals. He is better with an axe than he is with a sword though and works a lot with Mitch. Jerome is the physically strongest out of the eight of us including Sky who is the stealthiest. Jerome definitely has a temper but it is always backed up with good intentions. He isn't one to know exactly to be expect to confront someone but to protect people even if it means through himself in harms way to protect a recruit, a citizen, anyone. That's not something I think I could do, I would be the person who needs the protecting as I see it.

"Is he awake?" I ask. Jerome shakes his head.

"If he is we..can't expect to get anything out of him. He is out of it, he just screamed suddenly and I found him...unconscious." Jerome said. I put my hand on Seto's shoulder.

"Seto? You with us?" I ask. Seto groans at me, he picks his head up slightly. I move slightly so I can meet eye contact with him. My eyes widen when I see Seto's dark brown eyes are cloudy. "Seto, can you see?" He shakes his head. His head drops down back to where it originally was and whimpers in pain.

General Seto Azdel is one of the Seven Major Generals as well, but he is also a very powerful mage and is naturally the one who deals with everything magic that comes at us. He has caramel brown hair, slightly tanned skin, has a black wizard robe that has dark purple designs on it, dark brown boots, red fingerless gloves, and black pants that has a red cloth belt on them. Seto is a bookworm but that is because there is always something wrong magically or something he wants to learn. He is a very kindhearted and also very shy guy. And what we hate about Seto is that, like Adam, he takes things too hard on himself and he overworks himself all the time. That's probably why Jerome stayed with him to keep an eye on him.

Oh and whatever you do, do not get on Seto's bad side...He's scary when he is mad. Well, who is stupid enough to piss off a powerful mage? You would be surprise at who I can name, but Seto is very good at keeping his temper in check because that would cause more bad than good for everyone and everything around him.

"I-I didn't notice his eyes. Seto, can you really not see?" Jerome asks. Adam comes beside me and I explain everything to him so far. Adam looks at Seto when I am done.

"Well..Why are you just standing there, get him to the infirmary." Adam said making Jerome start hurrying to the infirmary. I look at Adam, fidgeting with my jacket.

"Adam if he can't see--"

"He'll be fine." Adam said before he looks at me. I hesitate, if Seto can't see and we are attacked....Our magic department isn't exactly big. It is very small actually. "And if the doctor cannot fix Seto's vision, I'll ask Jordan if he happens to know where Waglington is and could contact him to come help." Waglington...I guess that makes me feel a little better. Knowing Wag, he'll come if Seto is in trouble or is hurt. But Wag is always too far away when we need him to help, sure Wag says he will come help the Sky Army anytime but don't always count on him to come since being on time isn't his strong suit.

"Alright, that makes me feel a little better." I said.

"Close all gates immediately! And don't reopen them without mine or General Ty's approval." Adam said to the recruits. The recruits all scramble to do what he says and I put my hand on my arm.

"Shouldn't that order just be your approval?" I ask. Adam looks at me.

"Ty, you are second in command for a reason." He said.

"Shouldn't Mason be second in command though?" I ask him. Adam shakes his head.

"No. As much as I admire his ambition, he is very stubborn when it comes to what I order the recruits." He said. I smile a little. Mason acts so much like Adam. Adam doesn't always do what the Minecraftian King commands of him and I can tell that pushes the King's buttons.

"Hmm...Doesn't always follow orders from his superiors, huh? I wonder where he gets that from?" I ask him. He stares at me for a few seconds and than rolls his eyes.

"I know, I know. He acts like me. I've been told several times." He said. I fold my arms against my chest.

"About the meeting, why aren't you doing something to the squids for what they did?" I ask him. He looks away from me.

"I'm gonna go see how Seto is doing." Adam said walking away and avoiding my question. I stare at him, again..Adam is too hard on himself, he can't be at two places at once. I run after Adam.

"How is he?" I ask Jerome. Jerome looks at me from his spot beside Seto. Seto it laying on his belly with his arms under the pillow and the blankets covering him. 

"Blind, and the doctor thinks this was magically caused so naturally he can't do anything for him." Jerome said. I look at Adam.

"I'll go wake up Jordan. See if maybe he can get a hold of Wag and if he can't..Seto might." Adam said before he leaves us. I stand beside Jerome, staring at Seto and than I look at Jerome.

"Anything else?"

"Physically drained, that was clear enough when I was carrying him and he was being very stubborn during the check up because he wanted to sleep." Jerome said. Jerome sits in a chair, moving his hands through his hair, clearly frustrated. "I don't get it, we were alone. First Jason, and now Seto. What happened?"

"Maybe one of his spells backfired on him. It's not your fault this happened, Jerome." I said. He stares at the floor, slumped in his seat.

"I was there to protect him, look where that got him. If Seto can't see and the squids attack...Casualties on our side will be much higher." Jerome said. I do have to agree with that grudgingly of course. I look at Seto. We have become dependent on Seto and his magic, I guess this will test what would happen if we lost Seto. I have always wondered that, but I have never been willing to test it. I see Seto's eyes open. There are still clouded.

"Seto? What happened?" I ask him. He groans at me.

"Where am I?" He groans. Jerome leans forward and speaks before I could.

"The Sky Army Infirmary, did your memory get damaged too?" Jerome asks. I sit on the bed next to Seto's feet. Seto whimpers and closes his eyes.

"My head is killing me." He said.

"Adam is gonna ask Jordan if he knows where Waglington is at so he can cured your blindness." I said. Seto nods his head.

"O-Okay." He said.
