Well, There's Always a 2nd Impression
"People make such a big deal out of first impressions, but if you're going to see whoever it is again, then why not just make the 2nd impression good?"-Barker
Great; wonderful; makes complete sense. A few things on the long list of describing words and phrases (Y/N) had thought of for today. Currently running through a forest to a densely populated area OS found on the 'ride down,' the one word that did make sense was confusion. He had no idea who the random bunch of fairy tale weapon-using teenagers was, but the glorious invention of radar allowed him to see them following far behind. Occasionally, there was a dink from the rear- some large-caliber sniper rifle. Grenades also fell around him, but none of them hit their mark. "Pilot, densely populated area coming up in 500 meters," OS said through internal speakers. For any normal person, 500 meters would have taken a few minutes, but in the titan, it took about thirty seconds. When they arrived, (Y/N) didn't like what he saw. "A wall? seriously? Wonderful. Osiris, can you climb this?"
"You are perfectly capable of doing it yourself pilot." Not deciding whether or not the remark was sarcastic, (Y/N) took that as a yes. The titan's fist reeled back, and slammed into the wall, embedding the hand. Mounting with one leg, and pushing up, (Y/N) launched the titan's other fist into a higher point in the wall. Slowly, they began climbing.
RWBY and JNPR were still chasing the 'giant robot,' as they had named it. They had trailed behind quite a bit, considering how much faster the titan was going. Ruby was the only one who remotely could have caught up, but she decided not to, knowing she couldn't beat it alone. They had called Ozpin moments ago, giving a vague description, and telling roughly where it was that the 'robot would be coming from. "It's alright, there is no way that thing could get over the wall," Weiss said in a confident tone.
"Yeah, I mean, what is it gonna do? Climb?" Yang was cocky about it, eager to get back at the pilot for the punch to the head.
"Uh, Yang? I think you might have spoken a little too soon . . ." Ruby pointed to the wall. Yang looked confused until she saw it too.
"I-It's climbing the wall?!" Weiss shrieked. There was a small snicker and a "you owe me five lien" coming from Nora addressed to Ren.
"We have to stop it!" Ruby ran towards the wall and started shooting the robot's hands. When she did so, wherever the bullets hit, a white hexagonal light appeared and the bullet deflected and fell. Knowing the nearest city entrance was too far, they called Ozpin for help.
You had just reached the top of the wall when you saw a weird-looking drop-ship fly overhead. Looking behind you you saw the wonderful fantasy worriers climb into it. Wonderful. You looked down to make sure your landing wouldn't kill anyone. Seeing the coast was clear, you dropped off the wall and into the city. The screaming for help started after a couple of steps. Even better! You started running trying to find someone who could help because, believe it or not, you didn't want to start a war on your first day. It was then you started hearing sirens and the howl of an engine. In the street in front of you, several police cruisers rolled up. When the officers got out of their cars, you were certain all of them had shit themselves as if each had taken fiber one on steroids. Not even bothering to speak, they started shooting. "Warning, pilot. Taking fire; recommend retaliation with X0-16." The titan said to you.
"As tempting as that is, I don't want to go killing off the city . . . yet." You said back to him. There was no real reason to retaliate, as the bullets barely penetrated the shields.
Your city run stopped quickly when an 'interesting' development was made. Another robot type was dropped onto the street, followed by two others. It looked . . . odd to say the least. They brought their arms up and prepared to engage. "Tell me something OS." You took cover behind a building before they were able to shoot.
"Scanning . . . identification-designation: Atlesian Paladin. Primitive design not meant for melee combat. No hands detected. Ranged weaponry: 20mm machine gun; tracking rockets. One of each on either forearm. Three enemies detected. Chance of success: 110%" You grew a smirk, loading arc rounds into the X0-16. The radar displayed the three mechs around the corner now. Not waiting a second, you dashed out in front of them and opened up on the middle one. It wasn't expecting the encounter and panicked when the forty-ton statement of superiority jammed its barrel on the front, unleashing a storm of electrified bullets. The paladins were not meant to withstand the power packed by the arc rounds. The rounds shredded the front of the cockpit and you jammed the barrel inside, effectively turning the pilot into a red mist. Now with nothing to control it, the paladin fell onto its back.
The other two, now out of shock, began opening fire with the mounted machine guns. The titan's shielding quickly drained, exposing the chassis to direct damage. Dashing back, you fired a rocket salvo at the right paladin, damaging and knocking it back. You ran at it while firing the machine gun, exposing the pilot inside. Running up to it, you shoved your hand into the cockpit and ripped the pilot out, letting the machine fall. Machine gun fire rattled the back of the hull and you turned to see another dropship firing at you with a mounted gun. Thinking on your feet, you threw the pilot at the front of the cockpit of said ship, splattering his body all over the windshield. You were suddenly knocked to the side at the impact of two rockets. Dashing left and activating your vortex shield, you barely caught the remaining four. Walking toward the last paladin, anything it fired was taken into the vortex shield. Doing a 180, you released the vortex shield's contents at the dropship before doing the other 180 of the total 360, tripping the remaining paladin Northstar style, tackling it, and unloading both rocket pods into its chassis, effectively blowing it the fuck up.
You smirked to yourself, looking at your handy work. The smirk quickly disappeared as six more paladins dropped surrounding you. Along with them, there were about ten attack airships that surrounded you as well. "You ready, OS?" You asked.
"Ready when you are, pilot." Bringing your arms up and around, you smashed fist to palm like the Gypsy fucking Danger. And a danger you were. When they opened fire, you activated "maelstrom," regenerating your shields. Because they all fired at once, you activated your vortex shield, gathering all the bullets and rockets, and performed a sweeping motion towards the sky. Two of the ships exploded as you got to the first paladin. You planted the barrel of the X0-16 in the left arm joint, put your leg against the midsection, and grabbed the right arm with your free hand, 'disarming' the paladin by ripping its arm off. You kicked it to the ground with the foot on the midsection and vented electric smoke, blowing the sucker up. Activating the tracking rockets, you launched 12, between two ships, destroying them as well with a satisfying boom. "Five steroid reapers and six airships. This just keeps getting better and better." You said, running to the next target group, which was two paladins standing side by side. You jumped into the air and brought the two to the ground, stomping the cockpit of one, then turning over to the other and putting a foot on the cockpit before ripping both arms off. Satisfied with your work, another e-smoke round was vented, making the two on the ground explode. "Warning, we are taking direct hull damage. Recommend you take cover, pilot." Heeding his warning, you braced behind another building, letting your shields regenerate.

Across from the battle, at Beacon tower, the headmaster stood with his assistant, watching the live feed. Ozpin's face was calm and contemplating. Glynda's was very much not that. "W-What is that thing?" Glynda stuttered in absolute fear and aw.
"I think the more accurate question is who?"
"Headmaster?"
"Teams RWBY and JNPR were the first to make contact with it. They told me someone was piloting it from the inside. At least, that's what I gathered from Ms. Valkyrie's explanation." He remembered what she had said over her scroll. "And-And then this giant robot showed up and its FACE opened up and the crazy flashy guy jumped inside its MOUTH!!"
"Are they alright?"
"The machine ran from them after making its appearance. They are currently on a bullhead over the battle."
"Thank god. I don't know what we would've done if it had decided to attack. Hopefully, the paladins and airships will be able to hold it off. Maybe if we just had a few more paladins to drop then-"
"That is out of the question Glynda." She was cut off as General Ironwood walked into the office.
"James? What are you doing here?" She asked him.
"I called him here upon receiving the knowledge that our 'guest' was piloting a mech," Ozpin informed her.
"You're lucky I was able to get here in time. I had to pull my fastest ship and the pilot wasn't happy. It would seem, however, that it may have been worth it. Or not. Back to your idea, Glynda, using more paladins is out of the question because we don't have any more to send. The nine that have been deployed were in reserve here. It would take far too long to send reinforcements. Besides, I don't think there is a paladin in the world that could take on whatever that thing is. That's why I came up with another solution." He pulled a small white metal box out of his pocket. After he unlocked it, the contents were revealed to be a grey ball with the letters EMPG.
"What is that James?" Glynda asked. Before he the chance to answer, Ozpin received a call on his scroll. He picked it up. A few inaudible things were said on the other side of the scroll and Ozpin sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. When he hung up, the other two looked at him with questioning looks.
"It would appear that teams RWBY and JNPR have taken the defense of Vale into their own hands."

(Y/N) took cover behind the building, letting his shields regenerate. There were still three paladins and six airships left. They weren't the most skillful enemies, but they would eventually win by overwhelming force. He wanted the time to think of a plan, but he only had a few seconds. He stepped back and got ready to run. When the first paladin emerged, that's what he did. Right at it. When within a satisfying range, he jumped and drew his fist back, bringing it down on the paladins 'head' area as he himself came down. It fell over, and looking up, (Y/N) saw two airships that had lined up with each other. An idea formulated in his mind in the few seconds he had. He grabbed the paladin's leg, hoisted it over his shoulder, and started spinning. As he picked up momentum, the paladin raised into the air. Right as the airships began their barrage, (Y/N) released the paladin at the airships. The flying robot flew into one, exploding and knocking it back into the airship that had lined up with it, destroying them both. Suddenly getting hit by a force from the right, (Y/N) reflexively activated his vortex shield, aiming it in the direction of the attack. He shield absorbed several more rockets from both paladins. Performing a sweeping motion at the ground collecting rock and rubble, (Y/N) then released the shield's contents. The paladins were not able to dodge the bullets or the rock, but only some rockets hit their mark.
Thinking it was now or never, (Y/N) dashed towards the remaining paladins, lighting up the right one with the arc rounds, shredding the cockpit and blowing it up. By the time that happened, he had reached the left paladin. It moved to fire a rocket salvo, but (Y/N) got to it first, punching through the hull and ripping the arm out from the inside. When he started to take airship fire again, he directed his attention to the remaining four airborne adversaries. He fired on one with the X0-16, shooting into the cockpit, effectively disabling the ship. He then used the multi-target missiles and locked 12 between two ships and launched a salvo. One of the ships had an inexperienced pilot - that ship was blown to hell. The pilot moved too early and the missiles simply adjusted their course. The second pilot moved his ship at the right time and was only hit by one missile. Using the Monarch "rearm" system, (Y/N) refilled his racks and fired again at the two remaining ships. The one that survived the last barrage was met with a face full of arc rounds just before the missiles made contact. The ship didn't last long. The last airship was unable to dodge enough missiles and went spiraling to the ground.
The victory was short-lived as a red blur cut across the hatch. The speed startled you a little and you stumbled back. You turned to the direction it came from, you saw seven of the eight school teens from earlier that day. They had all gathered in fighting stances. You just wondered if they had death wishes. It took you a second to find out the eighth wasn't there. You didn't have to look, however, as the same red blur as before slashed at the hatch. It became apparent that the red blur was going for your optical system. They sped up, hitting the front of the titan at speeds too fast to track. You decided to end the problem before it started. You deployed the e-smoke that had been building up for the past while now. When the flash of red went for you again, all that was heard was a shrill scream.
"Ruby!" You heard the atomic blond yell. She tried to fire at you, but the shells bounced off your shields. When the smoke faded, "Ruby's" unconscious body was slumped on the ground. "Get away from her!" Blondie yelled again. Given their positions, another idea found its way into your head. You jumped back allowing access to 'Red.' The blonde ran to her side to see if she was ok. You deployed a missile rack and aimed it in the area around them, wanting to hurt them as little as possible. Before you could release the button, a force hit you from the right. You broke free of the attempted chokehold to see the culprit was the remains of the last paladin. Getting angry, you shoved your arm into the hole where the arm was and ripped out the pilot. Because there was no door there, when the pilot was ripped out, most of him was left inside. Looking back to the teenagers, they had collectively gathered around the body of little 'Red.' You were tired of this whole ordeal, so you ended it. Using a power lever and a trigger, you fired a quick shot from the energy siphon mounted behind your left missile rack before they had time to react. The draining electricity chained between them, knocking the remaining seven of them out. The odd thing was, your shields overcharged.
Adding to the annoying pattern of the day, you received no rest after defeating the students. A sudden electric charge shot through the cockpit as OS's primary systems started to malfunction. "WARNING; WARNING, EMP DETETETETETETETETE..." He didn't finish his sentence as the titan dropped to one knee- the standard drop position for titans post-titanfall. You grunted at the sudden fry of electricity. Someone had used an electromagnetic pulse on your titan. Then the hatch suddenly opened, letting you fall out. Looking up for a second, all you saw was a tall figure, before the butt of a gun slammed into your face, the world fading to black soon after.
Sorry that the chapter was shorter this time than last. Hopefully, it won't happen again.
