Chapter 6

Day 2

Nico stood in front of his school, not wanting to go in. It totally wasn't because he was scared of Thalia, no it was just a really nice day. Damn, he shouldn't have ignored her text yesterday.

Suddenly someone was behind him and whispering in his ear, "Whatcha doin'?"

He had to have jumped at least three feet at that. "Dear gods Lou don't sneak up on me like that!"

Laughing, she asked, "What's got you so scared today?"

"Nothing why do you assume that I'm scared?"

"Dude you jumped ten feet in the air when I walked up behind you."

"Shush," he said putting his hand on her face.

"Now I really wanna know!" she said although it came out muffled due to the fact that he hadn't removed his hand yet.

"Too bad."

"Well you finally admitted it's something!"

"Nope."

"Remove your hand."

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"Nope."

"Really?"

"Nope."

"How long are you going to say that?"

"Nope."

"Nico!"

"Nope."

Bored Lou licked his hand, cringing Nico removed it and wiped the spit on her arm. "Ew!"

"It's your spit!"

"Well yes, but it doesn't belong on my arm! It belongs on your hand."

"It belongs in your mouth!"

"I've heard it both ways."

Rolling his eyes, he asked, "Ready to go in?"

"Weren't you scared to go in, like five minutes ago?"

"Well now I'm not."

"So you admit you were scared."

"Don't sass me."

"It wasn't even sass."

"Says you."

"Whatever lets just go in."

"Lou."

"What?"

"Don't get mad, get glad."

"Why would I need a trash bag."

"Wouldn't you like to know," Nico said with a smirk. With that he went past her and into the hallways of Lotus High School, sneaking his way to his locker. He peeked around the corner and sighed, he should have known that Thalia would wait by his locker.

"Did you ignore one of her texts again?" Lou Ellen asked appearing behind him again.

"Maybe," Nico said with a hopeless look on his face.

"It's your own fault then," she said and pushed him out of his hiding place.

With a yelp he tried to turn around before Thalia could see him, of course she saw him though. With a grin on her face she walked over to him. "Hey Nico."

"Hi Thalia," he said with a gulp.

"Why do you look so scared?"

"I don't know what you're talking about..."

"Oh I think you do."

"What ever do you mean?"

"Well you see, you didn't reply to my text."

"I never got it," he lied quickly.

"Mhmm, let me see your phone," she said holding her hand out to him.

Muttering a quick cuss under his breath, he took his phone out and handed it to her. He should have deleted the damn text.

"As I thought, you did get it. Why didn't you reply?"

"Well you see I didn't feel like it," he said not wanting to tell the truth. Wincing when she slapped his arm, he knew he should have picked a better lie.

"I was worried about you! You just took off that night! What if you had been turned into a sunflower or something?"

"I'll get turned into a sunflower as soon as you become a tree."

"Whatever. What happened anyway?" she asked, knowing she was letting him off easy. It had to be something pretty bad for him to take off without telling them and not texting her back.

"Nothing."

"Mhmm, what happened with your soulmate then?" she asked and as she did Lou snickered who had joined them once she saw that Thalia wasn't going to kick Nico's ass.

"Shut up, Lou," Nico said? avoiding Thalia's question.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I didn't?"

"No, you didn't."

"Hmm my bad."

"Answer now."

"Fine," he sighed.

"We met and it was awkward."

"Why?"

"Doesn't matter."

"Fine," she said crossing her arms. "You aren't going to tell me are you?"

"Probably not."

"Lou, why was it so awkward?" she asked turning to face the other girl.

"Well you see~" Lou started snickering.

Nico interrupted, "If you value our friendship you won't say."

"Our little Neeks is gay," Lou said, sticking her tongue out at Nico.

"Child," he muttered as he pouted.

"And?" Thalia asked.

"You aren't shocked?" Lou asked.

"No, because no offense Nico but it was kinda obvious."

"What?" Nico demanded, shocked.

"Have you seen the shows you watch and the couples you ship?"

"Shut up," Nico said, blushing.

"Oh my gods, it makes so much sense now," Lou Ellen said, the revelation clear on her face.

"Guys!" Nico said, clearly feeling awkward about the situation that they had put him in with their conversation.

"Sorry," they said at the same time, giggling.

"Oh my gods, are you guys giggling?"

"No," Thalia says, smacking him on the arm.

"I'm going to tell everyone," Nico says, laughing.

"No you won't."

"You're right, I'll only tell Jason."

"You better not tell my brother."

"Alright, I'll talk to you later then," Nico said turning to walk away from them. He didn't get very far before Thalia grabbed his arm.

"No, come stay with us for the rest of the morning, boo."

"But Thalia," he started before he was cut off by the bell.

"Damn," she said, letting him go.

"See you guys later," he said as he headed towards his first period, where Jason was in his class.

"Jerk!" Thalia called after him.

"Bye," Lou said as she laughed at Thalia.

A/N: the first sentence was basically identical to that of the first sentence in my other fanfiction... I'm so unoriginal. And there was no Percy, sigh. Next chapter he'll be back though!
