PROLOGUE
The candle burned, its golden glow illuminating my dark room. They were sending me away and there was nothing I could do. I was told to keep a journal, by my shrink. He, Mr. Dormer said that it would help me find my inner thoughts. Mr. Dorme doesn't know what goes through my head, so he tells me these lies to get him to believe him. "Well, Mr. Dorme...I don't believe you and I'm not doing this for you...I did this for her..." I murmur to myself glancing down at the sleeping girl next to me.
What would they do with her, when they find out. Would they send her away? Let them find her? I look back at the blank journal pages. I guess, I should start.
"Darling,
I know I'll be long gone by time you find this, and bloody hell I hope you manage to find this. My time is running out, either mum and dad will take me to the institution or they'll find me. I need you to know the truth. The truth of us, and why they are after us. You can't let them take you, I've tried so hard to keep you hidden from them. Once I'm gone, I'll no longer be there to protect you, and you have to promise me you'll be cautious and wary of those around you. Now, when you do find this go to the old theater and find the man with the green eyes and the tattoo of a key on his wrist. Tell him-."
I couldn't finish. There was a whisper of a breeze and then the world went black. I heard the soft whimper of the girl next to me. "Shhh, It's alright, love. Windows open," I whisper as she looks up at me. Her brown eyes stared back at me, with their sad caramel color. "What if they come," She whispers as she brushes her brown hair behind her shoulder. I smile and say, "don't worry, they won't, you're safe here." She looks up at me, her eyes questioning me.
"I promise, You are safe. Just stay with me," I whisper and hugged her tightly. "Now, get some rest," I say. She crawls back on the bed, and falls fast asleep. I sigh and move the burnt out candle back on the desk, just after closing the window. I tuck her in and crawl into bed next to her.
