☤three
it was night time. of course jimin couldn't tell that since the mental hospital didn't have any windows for him to be able to look outside, but everything he could see from outside of the room door was pitch black.
he had slept the entire day away, refusing to eat each time a nurse had stopped by his room with a food tray. he had just now got up. reaching over to turn on the tall lamp beside his bed, an orange hue of light dimly lit up the room.
the lamp was of course securely connected to the floor. it was impossible to move it or pick it up. even the lightbulb had a black cage around it with many small holes to let the light shine though. it was a safely precaution so no one would break the light bulb and use the glass to hurt themselves or someone else. however, the rooms all included the lamps for patients that were afraid of the dark.
as jimin laid down on the uncomfortable bed, he stared up at the ceiling. there wasn't anything to do. absolutely nothing to distract him.
with a small groan, the teenager laid flipped over to his left side which faced the room. the white covers were pretty thin but managed to keep him warm enough. the male had decided to just go back to sleep to pass the time.
as he tried to slow down his breathing and focus on nothing in particular in the room, he could feel himself growing tired again. his plump lips parted and soft breaths left them as he began to fall into that sweet state of nirvana where nothing could hurt him inside of his dreams. whenever he slept he was safe. because everything was in his mind, it couldn't bother him when he wasn't fully awake to let it.
wah!
jimin jumped at the loud wail, his eyes widening. instantly his room filled with the sounds of multiple figures he wasn't able to see sobbing. the noise was so loud it was echoing off of the walls and filling his ears like a siren. he's coming. he always does when they cry. the male immediately squeezed his eyes closed and pretended to be sleeping, silently praying that everything was going to be okay.
suddenly the crying stopped. the only thing that now loomed in the air was utter silence and jimin's overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. as the male waited for whatever was going to happen, so many different expectations played out in his head about how the brunette man was going to hurt him this time.
the soft hum of a lullaby came out of nowhere behind him on top of the bed. jimin tried his best not to flinch as he felt a large hand start to caress his fringe. he wanted to run and scream, but that wouldn't do anything. all that would do is get that psychiatrist thinking he was doing it for attention. besides, jungkook would follow him to the end of the earth. there was no escaping him. especially now that the only person capable of helping him wouldn't believe him.
"jimin," the voice playfully called out his name. "i know you're awake. if you weren't, i wouldn't be here."
the male still didn't move, trying to fall asleep so he really would be forced to disappear. when jimin didn't move or acknowledge him at all, jungkook let out a deep growl from the back of his throat. he turned the male so he was laying straight and wrapped his hands around his wrists.
"a-ah, it hurts!"
jungkook smirked down at the boy, tightening his grip just to make it worse. he watched with amusement as jimin's face contorted to a pained expression. he absolutely loved the way jimin looked when he was hurting him.
"please stop..." jimin mumbled out in pain as the man kept adding on more and more strength and pressure. he felt like his wrists were going to break any second now.
"beg me."
"please jungkook." jimin whispered as tears cascaded quickly down his cheeks. it hurt too much to even wait a moment to start asking him to quit. "jungkook, please!"
"are you alright in there?" the familar voice of one of the guards asked after hearing jimin's voice.
jimin opened his mouth to respond but lips were instantly placed over his to stop him. jungkook kissed him roughly, preventing any sound from coming out of his mouth. the blonde tried to resist it, but he didn't have much luck. jungkook was being too forceful to stop him.
when the brunette boy pulled away for just a moment to catch his breath, jimin tightly closed his lips, squeezing them together. jungkook chuckled darkly, hands still tightly holding his wrists above his head. "open your mouth."
jimin shook his head, refusing. jungkook removed his left hand in order to hold jimin's jaw in place while he looked him straight in the eyes and repeated what he had already told him to do. "open your mouth."
again, the teenager refused. jungkook held his left wrist tightly with his right hand, putting even more pressure on it than before. since jungkook had let go of jimin's right hand he was able to try and push him away with it, but it didn't do much.
"this is the last time i'm warning you." jungkook spit out the words with a clenched jaw, clearly pissed off by the boy's rejection. "open your motherfucking mouth, park jimin."
with tears still falling from his sad eyes, the boy shook his head. he knew he should listen, but he didn't want to. he didn't want to give in to jungkook.
"fine then. you did this to yourself."
a loud snap was heard from just a little bit above jimin's head. a high pitched, blood curling scream left the blonde's lips as he shouted out in agony from the feeling that shot out throughout his entire forearm. jungkook had just broke his wrist because he didn't want to kiss him.
outside in the hallway, several footsteps were heard running towards his room. his door was unlocked in just a matter of seconds and several people, including the two guards, hurriedly came into the room. since jungkook had let go of him, jimin sat up and held his wrist in pain, sobs leaving his lips as tears fell from his long eyelashes.
the lights turned on, showing many people all looking at the boy clutching his hand in despair.
"are you okay?! what's wrong?" a grey haired male approached him, reaching out for him.
jungkook glared at him, slapping away his hand from jimin angrily. he wasn't allowed to touch what was his. he wasn't allowed to touch jimin.
the man looked at the blonde male in shock, confused as to why the crying boy had just hit him.
"my wrist!" jimin cried out, hissing out the words from his teeth that were clenched closed because of the agonizing pain he was in.
all the men in the room looked at the boy's wrist, dark bruises in the shape of fingerprints covering them. upon seeing them, a black haired male leaned down to check it out. jungkook did nothing this time, just scoffing. he decided jimin had gone through enough and to leave him alone for now. there was nothing he could do with all these people around anyway.
when jungkook left without the pained boy even noticing, he gave a threatening look to the figures waiting outside of the room as if telling them not to bother jimin right now. they all took steps back, vanishing into black mists and eventually into the air as well.
"how did this happen?" the grey haired male asked, sitting down on jimin's bed with him.
the black haired male dressed in a doctor's coat carefully examined the boy, trying to put as little pressure as he could while checking his wrist's condition.
"he hurt me again." jimin cried out.
"who hurt you?" the grey haired male questioned panicked, thinking someone had broken into his room and hurt him.
"j-jungkook!"
"jimin." the blonde looked up with teary eyes as he heard the familiar voice. namjoon was standing in his room as well with a very worried look on his face. "jungkook isn't real, you know that. why did you hurt yourself?"
"i didn't!" jimin shouted at him, feeling that same frustration from earlier today when he called him a liar then too. "he was just here!"
"jimin, you're not mentally ill. there's no reason you should be having hallucinations. you need to explain why you did this to yourself so we can help you."
"namjoon," the black haired male kneeling down still looking at jimin's arm called out to get his attention. "i don't know how, but his wrist isn't just fractured, or broken. the top part of his bone is shattered."
the two other men's eyes widened.
"seokjin, how is that possible?" namjoon asked, staring at the ever darkening skin on his wrist.
"physically, for him, it isn't. he clearly isn't strong enough to do that to someone, much less to himself. i don't think almost anyone could with brute force alone." seokjin explained.
taehyung looked down as something caught his eye. "his other wrist is bruised too. is it broken as well?"
seokjin merely glanced over at it before focusing back on the one that needed treatment as soon as possible. "it's probably numb from the force applied to it, but that one's mainly just bruised."
while they waited for the nurses to rush in with a stretcher, namjoon stared down at jimin's wrist curiously. so he wasn't strong enough to do that himself?
the only time he had seen someone be able to gain more strength than their own body could handle was when one of his ex patients, a now recovered schizophrenic little girl, used to have hallucinations that her dead father was beating her. when she would be under the hallucinations, it would make her mind think it was him doing the hitting and she would beat herself with just as much force as a grown man would. since her mind thought that's what was happening, her body did it.
he couldn't help but think back to what jimin said about jungkook. he wanted to believe him, this was enough evidence to do so, yet his mental state didn't make sense. it was normal. even more normal than the average person. as much as he'd like to do something, he couldn't. unless the tests results showed something that permitted him to give jimin treatment, he wouldn't be able to. jimin wasn't sick. he couldn't be.
i realized i never mentioned it, but jimin is nineteen in this
the plot will explain jimin's wrist soon, but just if you guys are finding it hard to grasp how jungkook hit taehyung, it wasn't jungkook. it was jimin but his mind showed that jungkook did it if that makes sense
