the blond haired male changed into the white soft pajamas with blue lining the guards had given him when they reached his room. the two large, muscular men looked away to give him privacy to change, waiting until they didn't hear the sounds of shuffling anymore before turning back towards him. one of the men held out a bag for him to place his clothes inside.
"mr kim will be in here in just a couple of minutes to talk with you. please just stay calm and wait on the bed." they instructed for him to sit on the mattress attached on top of a steel bed frame with reinforced bolts to prevent taking it off.
when the two men finished, they exited the fair sized plain white room. the large metal door closed with a loud noise, the sound of it being locked following soon after. he was now all alone.
the male didn't even speak. he didn't even let a sound slip past his lips as he took a seat on the uncomfortable mattress. the boy brought his knees up to his chest and hugged them, trying to ignore the pointed stare a black figure was giving him from across the room in one of the corners. he pretended as if he hadn't even noticed it. it was easier that way.
the boy buried his face into the fabric covering up his legs, trying to distract himself from the incoherent whispers coming from where the figure was standing. he didn't want to deal with it right now. he just wanted the psychiatrist to come quickly so he wouldn't have to be alone with it anymore. it was annoying him.
in only a few more moments, he could hear someone talking outside with the two guards that had guided him in here. soon, the door was being unlocked and pushed open in order for someone to join him inside of the room almost completely void of everything.
"park jimin?"
he looked up at the call of his name, the hushed whispers now becoming background noise instead. the male in front of him looked pretty young, perhaps in his late twenties. he had thick black framed glasses on and hair that was a mix between blond, a soft orange, and a light pink.
"i'm the psychiatrist that was put in charge of your visit here, kim namjoon." the man spoke to the teenager as he took slow steps to approach him. "do you mind if i sit by you?"
although jimin wasn't going to attack the man or even think about doing it, it was odd that he could easily do so. it was only the two of them locked inside this room since the guards had stayed outside in the hallway. was this a test, or were they just not worried?
"it's fine." he answered, his voice a little scratchy since his throat was quite dry and he was feeling dehydrated.
it wasn't until namjoon sat down that he noticed the taser hidden inside of his blazer. now it made sense. if there was a problem, or if he had decided he wanted to hurt namjoon he would get tased.
when the man placed his clipboard on his lap, he looked over at jimin. he gave him his full attention, eyes searching his for anything that could be hidden inside. "i need to talk to you about what i found out from the tests we did on you. but first, could you explain to me what happened that got you sent here? i already know of course, but i want to hear your point of view."
from the corner of his eyes, jimin could see two more figures standing together with the first one. they were all whispering to each other things he didn't focus on or even try to listen to. he decided he might as well talk to the psychiatrist since if he didn't the man would probably just leave him alone in here.
"i tried to hang myself, but my neighbor came over to give me some mail that got put in her box and found me. i guess she called the ambulance after that." the young male explained simply.
"but why did you try to hang yourself? the report i was given said you refused to say anything to the police."
the question made jimin quickly glance to the corner. even more figures now huddled together, all staring at him as if awaiting the answer as well. they were mocking him.
"because i don't want to be around them anymore. they're loud and annoying."
namjoon cocked his head to the side as he wrote down the words on the report. "who are they?"
"i don't know." jimin shrugged his shoulders. "they're just these black shadows. they don't look like anything but darkness."
namjoon looked troubled at his explanation as if something wasn't adding up. it seemed that whatever results he had received from the test they did on his brain wasn't matching with what he was saying.
"you talk about these 'shadow people' like they don't scare you. would you say that's the case?"
"they don't do anything." jimin responded taking another quick glance at them. "they just stand there and look me. they laugh and whisper things to me a lot, but i usually can't understand them. it's like they're watching me for him."
namjoon again looked at the papers held by his clipboard as if something were wrong with them. he repeatedly checked the name on them just to make sure it was really the test results and information of the boy he was sitting with right now. the things jimin was saying and the things written there were totally contradicting each other.
"who are you talking about now? do you think he controls the black figures?"
"no, but they're afraid of him. he says his name is jungkook." jimin whispered, looking down at his hands which were now interlocked with each other for comfort.
"how do you know they're afraid of jungkook?"
"because they get scared when they know he's coming."
namjoon felt extremely troubled. what exactly was happening with this boy? he seemed to be very genuine with what he was saying, but the data he was given didn't agree.
"and when does jungkook come?"
"when they cry." jimin spoke as he stared directly into the corner at the many figures staring right back at him. "that means he's on his way."
