Chapter 6
Third person
The two talked about how their days went for a while and just enjoyed each other's company. They would always have a bonfire near the pond that Blake could easily put out if it grew too big. It was a normal thing for them to just lay by the fire and watch the stars.
It seemed like the world stopped and it was just them. Time always seemed to slow when they were together. Neither of them knew why they felt like this around each other.
Blake's heart beat faster when the vampire came around. He wasn't sure why, but he always felt happy when Leo was with him. He assumed that it was because the vampire was his only friend, but that didn't mean that was the only reason.
While Leo's heart didn't actually beat he still felt better when he was with Blake. No one else made him feel the way he did with the flame boy. But if his heart did beat it would probably beat faster around him too.
"Hey Blake, do you ever feel like the world just stops sometimes and that time is frozen?" Leo asked quietly, lying opposite to his friend as they gazed at the stars.
"Um... Yeah, actually I do... When I'm around you it seems like time isn't passing. I know it is, but I feel like it isn't. And sometimes, I think it's mostly because we're out here alone, but it does seem like there's no one but us... And that's the way I like it..." Blake agreed, admitting that he enjoyed when they hung out on their own.
The flame boy wished that it could be this way constantly. He would like to always have Leo around, but he was a vampire and that would be difficult. Sure, Blake already had a reversed sleep schedule because of his friend, but that didn't mean that they could be together at all times. Leo didn't have to do all the things that kept Blake alive. It certainly wouldn't be easy, but if that was what they both wanted then they would definitely try.
"That's the way I like it too... It's peaceful when it's just us; no hustle and bustle or rules to follow... It's just us out in the woods..." The vampire added, a shy smile spreading across his face.
Leo liked when it was just the two of them. Of course he was sure that his parents wouldn't like that, but they had never met Blake in person. They just knew that he was the one who the vampire went to see in the forest most nights. That was the way Leo wanted to keep it, for now at least.
If Gumball or Marshall met Blake then Leo would be interrogated with questions along with his friend. He'd be asked about feelings towards him and sexuality and those were things he didn't want to get into yet. Leo may be close with his family, but that didn't mean that he wanted to start those kinds of discussions.
As of now Blake would remain his friend. Their favorite place to meet would be the pond. This wasn't going to change until absolutely necessary, but it would in good time.
