Chapter 47
Third person
The couple kept walking for several days. They wanted to be as far as they possibly could be from their parents. It didn't feel morally right to leave their families like that, but it was what they had to do to be happy with each other.
Now that the teens were on their own they could do whatever they wanted. They didn't have to abide by their parents' rules anymore. They were free to do as they pleased.
The lovers even discussed getting married. Both however rejected the idea. They would never be able to find anyone willing to marry them.
Leo figured that his parents had spread the word by now that he and his partner were missing. Anyone within a hundred miles would probably alert the Candy kingdom to where they were hidden. That's why the boys were laying low. That's how it was going to be for the next two years.
Blake and Leo were fine with waiting to get married. It wasn't like they had to do it right away. They had eternity after all. Who said they had to get married then and there?
The couple stayed in the seclusion of different forests as they traveled. Both of them enjoyed the diversity of their surroundings but also missed the familiarity of home. To distract themselves they simply remembered that it was only for a little less than two years. Then they could return home if they wanted to.
They boys didn't have to stay away from home after two years. They could come right back and get married if that's what they chose. Or they could come back for a visit and have a little house out in the forest nearby. It would be their decision in the end. Plus neither of them actually thought they would live at home forever.
Blake had always had a sense of adventure like Finn. He liked being outdoors and exploring and traveling away. He had never been on quite a long journey, but that's what excited him. The thought of being away from all his concerns and worries made him feel free.
Leo also wanted to leave the kingdom, from a rather young age actually. He never liked the hustle and bustle of the kingdom. The vampire never wanted to rule the way his fathers did. He wanted to live his life in the wilderness and explore what the land had to offer. Now he could do that with Blake by his side.
The couple had been traveling for nearly a week now. They were very far from home. There would be no going back for the next two years. During that time they would get to explore the curiosities they never thought existed. It was going to be quite the experience.
Blake and Leo were finally happy. They didn't need anything but each other. There were no more restrictions and no more curfews; only each other. That was the way it was going to be and that was the way they liked it.
