Chapter 45

Third person

Gone. Leo was just gone. There was no sign of him anywhere. His parents began to panic. He had never done anything like this before. It was just so unlike him.

Gumball agreed to search the kingdom while Marshall would search outside the kingdom grounds. They were determined to find their son. They couldn't just let him disappear. They weren't actually going to forbid him to see Blake. If that were his reason for running then there was a going to be a huge misunderstanding.

Leo ran quickly through and out of the kingdom, trying to avoid the sunlight as much as he could. He just had to get away. The teenager couldn't take all the stress that was being thrown on him all at once. He just needed to clear his head.

He ran into the forest and through the trees. He got scratched up by several branches and tripped many different times but still kept running. He wasn't going to stop for anything.

Leo knew that his parents would look for him. The thought of stopping only made him run faster. He couldn't let himself be captured.

It was like a game of hide and seek from when he was a child, except this time you couldn't stay in one place. You had to constantly move farther and farther away to stay safe and that's exactly what he was doing.

Leo ran passed the pond and through the rest of the forest. That place would be far too obvious to stop. His parents would probably consider that one of the first places to search.

Instead the vampire continued to run until he reached Blake's house. He couldn't just run away. If he were running away completely he would want Blake to be with him. Blake was the only thing he cared about having with him.

The vampire knocked on the front door and hugged Blake tightly when he opened it. The flame boy was taken by surprise at first and hugged back after a moment. It was getting close to sunset, but the sun was still out.

Leo took a few moments while his burns healed. He was breathing heavily from running and could barely get out what he wanted to say.

"W-We need to go...!" Leo finally said, being able to regain his breath.

Blake was confused at first. Why would they need to leave? It seemed like a normal, beautiful day. He didn't think anything was wrong.

"Why? Is something wrong?" Blake asked, being unsure why they would ever need to leave.

"My parents know what we did on Valentine's day and they want to separate us! I cant let that happen! I can't lose you!" The vampire cried out, pulling his partner towards the door.

The flame boy now became worried as well. He didn't want to lose his partner. He couldn't do that.

Blake nodded, not saying a word. He then ran up to his room and grabbed anything they might need, including his sword. Neither of them knew how long they would be gone, but they were preparing for a while.

Both the boys then ran out of the treehouse hand in hand. They couldn't stay for much longer anyway, not like either of them really wanted to. They would rather live together in seclusion than apart.
