Chapter 40
Third person
Leo couldn't keep his mind off of Blake, especially not when he was sleeping. He would often dream of his partner and what it would be like to be with him all the time. The dreams made him happy while he slept but he became sad once he woke up and realized they weren't real.
That day while Leo slept was probably one of the best dreams he could remember. He never wanted it to end, but just like all dreams it comes crashing down.
Leo dreamt of living out in a little house in the forest. It would be secluded and basically just them. Maybe they would have a couple of kids there too. But that was what Leo truly wanted. He wanted somewhere simple and quiet to live with his partner.
The vampire never really liked the hustle and bustle of the kingdom. He didn't want to rule over it either. He didn't think he would ever be able to handle a kingdom the way Gumball did. Something bad would happen and it would be his fault then.
Leo knew he would have to tell his parents when the time became right. He could already see the disappointment in his father's eyes and hear the conversation that followed. He was dreading both.
Blake too often dreamt of his partner. It happened nearly every time he slept. But his dream was a little bit different than Leo's.
He dreamt of the couple living in a house, close to the forest but also close to the beach. He did dream of having kids with Leo as well. They were a happy family and nothing changed that in his dream.
In dreams anything can happen. All the pain from the real world can disappear and your one true hope can become a reality for a short time. The possibilities are endless and the only restrictions are the ones put in place by your own mind.
Blake always had happy dreams when Leo was the subject. Nothing could ruin those. Those dreams were his favorite kind that he wished were a reality when he woke up. Unfortunately each time he did return from his slumber nothing had changed.
The boys still had it wait two years to be together and didn't have any children. The second part was a good thing at the moment. Having a child now wouldn't be a good idea. Leo was only sixteen. Sure, his parents had him at eighteen, but that was still considered young. Imagine what people would say if they had a baby at sixteen.
It was a good thing for now that the dreams weren't reality. It meant everything was going to be that way soon. Leo and Blake would move out and have their own place; away from people and large cities. That's what they wanted.
One day they would have children of their own, but that would be one day in the future. For now their dreams would remain as dreams, but one day they might just become a reality.
