Chapter 4
Third person
The two children spent nearly an hour playing games with each other. They had a lot of fun and wished they lived in the same area so they could play more often. Unfortunately Blake lived outside of the Candy kingdom in a treehouse not far from the woods they were in. Leo of course lived in the Candy kingdom in the castle.
Unfortunately the two were still too young to go off on their own and wouldn't always be able to see each other. Their friendship would grow with time until they were old enough to see each other without parental supervision.
That didn't bother Leo or Blake. They were young now but they thought that it would be worth it if they would be closer in the end. The two boys were practically already best friends. They were all the other had after all. Of course they would be close.
Gumball called out for Leo to come back, making the boy frown. He would now have to leave his friend for an indefinite amount of time.
"I'm sorry Blake... I have to go now..." Leo said softly, hugging his friend tightly.
"It's alright... I can wait..." Blake replied, hugging the other just as tight.
The hug caused steam to rise off the two boys. Blake was burning Leo, unintentionally of course. He let go once he realized his friend was burning worse than usual.
"Sorry..." The flame boy apologized.
"It's okay... I'll see you soon..." The vampire reassured, running into the distance and out of the forest just as his burns healed.
"Hey Leo, where were you?" Gumball asked, ruffling his hair.
"Down by the pond..." He replied, knowing he would never get away with lying to his parents.
Just one downside of having vampires for parents: they can read your mind. Leo would never be able to tell a convincing lie without his mind deceiving him. So he had decided to always tell his parents the truth. Even if he got in trouble it was better than lying and then getting in even more trouble.
"You should stay close by... I don't want you playing in the water..." Gumball spoke, sighing softly.
"I wasn't in the water, I was just near it." The child corrected.
Marshall sat down next to Gumball, hearing the conversation between the two.
"He can play down by the pond. It's a couple feet deep at most." Marshall added, trying to ease his partner's concern.
Gumball was rather protective over Leo and didn't want him getting hurt. Marshall was the one who wanted to have fun all the time.
Leo smiled as Marshall defended him. Gumball couldn't resist and would allow him to play near the pond as long as he didn't get too dirty. The decision made their son very happy. Now he would be able to see his friend nearly every time they came to the forest.
Blake walked home after Leo left. He felt happy after spending time with his friend. He hoped they would be close and couldn't wait until their next meeting.
