Chapter 38

Third person

Blake managed to wake himself up before dawn. He didn't want to get in trouble or have his partner get burned. And if Leo's parents knew about their activities that night they would be in trouble for sure.

The flame boy shook his lover's shoulder gently to wake him up. Leo obviously didn't want to, but each minute was a minute closer to dawn and they needed to leave.

"Leo, Love, wake up please. It's nearly dawn." Blake said softly, close to his partner's ear.

The vampire slowly began to wake up. He groaned softly when he saw how close to dawn it was. After a night like that the last thing he wanted to do was go home.

"I wish I didn't have to leave..." Leo replied quietly, nuzzling his face in the flame boy's neck.

Neither of them liked when Leo had to go home. It was by far their least favorite part of the night; especially this night.

They had just shared the most intimate thing a couple can share. They didn't want to just sort of abandon each other after that. It didn't feel right. It actually made the experience feel more like a one-night stand.

Unfortunately Leo had to go home or his parents would definitely think something was up. The two boys got redressed in last night's clothes and stretched any aches out of their body.

The sun was starting to rise as they made their way to the Candy kingdom. Blake walked beside Leo, blocking a lot of the sun out with his height.

Leo wished that one day he could walk on the beach at sunset with his lover. That was something he wanted to do, even if he got burned.

He recalled that his parents actually got married on the beach. It was nighttime of course, but he was told that the moonlight made the water simply beautiful. Leo was born right before their wedding so he couldn't remember much of it at all. But he was told enough from Peppermint maid to be able to enjoy the thought.

Leo however would like to get married at sunset. He thought sunsets were beautiful, even if they burnt him. That would be his dream wedding; a nice and small ceremony on the shore at sunset. The colors would bounce off the water and it would be gorgeous.

The thought of Leo's own wedding made him smile. Blake noticed this and didn't know what the vampire was thinking, so he asked.

"What is it, Leo?"

"I just thought of something is all..." The vampire replied softly, deciding to keep his thought to himself.

He would share it when the time became proper. He technically couldn't get married until eighteen so there wasn't really a point to imagining a wedding now. He might forget any details he came up with in his mind if he didn't write them down.

The time for that would come soon enough. The two lover's would be married before they knew it.
