Chapter 32
Third person
Leo wanted to bolt as soon as his parents gave him that look; a look of them catching him in a lie. He knew that there was no avoiding this. The jig was up. Both of his parents knew that he was in a relationship with Blake.
The teenage vampire had no escape in this situation. He would have to deal with the consequences given to him.
They all waited until everyone else had left before beginning their discussion. They didn't want to make this a public matter but also needed to talk about this.
Blake and Leo sat next to each other while their parents sat on the opposite side of the table. Their glares were cold as ice, as ironic as that was for Flame King.
"You should have never kept something like this from us, Leo. Explain yourselves, right now." Gumball demanded sternly, being very unhappy with his son's actions.
Leo grabbed his lover's hand under the table out of anxiousness. He was worried about explaining their relationship because he wasn't entirely sure what would happen. His parents might let it slide, but they most likely wouldn't.
"Well... Um... Blake and I have been best friends for about ten years... And we were all each other had... I-I don't know... We just started... Crushing on each other I guess... And then we told each other and it just sort of happened... And we both agreed to not tell you because we didn't know what would happen... And now we're here..." Leo explained softly, keeping his head down because he felt that he couldn't look his parents in the eyes.
The boy felt his stomach dropping each moment that his parents didn't speak. He worried about what they would say about their relationship.
"But you told us... Why would you tell your parents, Leo?" Finn asked, not exactly seeing the point.
"Because I knew that I'm not supposed to be in a relationship until I turn eighteen... I don't want to lose Blake... He's the only friend I've ever had..."
Blake worried more and more as the conversation continued. He could tell that his body temperature was increasing because of the steam radiating from him holding Leo's hand. But he didn't let go. He would never let go of Leo if that meant they would lose each other. He couldn't let that happen.
"We made that to protect you. We don't want you getting hurt because of a young relationship." Marshall explained, trying to justify their decision.
"But Dad was seventeen when you became a couple! That's extremely hypocritical!" The teenage vampire argued.
Leo did have a point. Gumball was only seventeen, but he was almost eighteen. But Leo was right. His parents had made a bit of a hypocritical rule.
"Leo, you're fifteen, almost sixteen. I was almost eighteen. That's still a two year difference. You're still young." Gumball added, trying to give a bit of clarity to the argument.
"Please don't argue... I would hate if my relationship with Leo caused problems with you... I can assure you that I will not hurt him intentionally. I have no plans of leaving him and want to spend the rest of my life with him... I don't see a problem with that..." Blake finally spoke, speaking his mind about the situation.
The room went quiet after that. Blake spoke with such maturity and calmness. He was almost soothing with his words. It actually helped give Leo a bit of peace.
The two families were now in quite a predicament; should the boys be left alone or should their parents intervene?
