Chapter 28

Third person

Leo returned to the Candy kingdom at dawn. Blake had walked him to the outskirts of the kingdom to avoid them being seen together. It was just a precaution.

The two shared a sweet embrace before they said their goodbyes. It was definitely the part of the night they hated most. The boys hated leaving each other but of course they had to. They kept it in their minds that things would be better one day and that was what fueled their hope.

The vampire teen walked into the kingdom, waving as he saw his partner walk back to the forest. They lived quite a distance away, but love knew no distance. They would still love each other, even if they were on opposite sides of the land of Aaa.

Blake returned to his treehouse and sighed. His parents tried to strike up a conversation but he was in no mood for talking. Saying goodbye to the one he loved was the hardest part of his night. It was the part he dreaded most.

Sometimes the flame boy wished he had the power to manipulate time. If he could do such a thing then he would simply fast forward to the time where Leo and him could be together.

Unfortunately Blake had no such power. He could throw fire from his hands and ignite a flame from thin air but had no manipulation over time. The boys would have to wait another two years before they could truly be together.

Leo however just wished for time to pass faster. He didn't care about having special abilities. All the vampire wanted was to go through time and reach a time when he could be happy with Blake.

When Leo went up to his room his stomach dropped to the floor. Peppermint maid was waiting as his desk, his journal in hand. He knew that he was done for and prepared to bolt from the room when she sternly instructed him to sit. In fear of her telling his parents, he did so.

"I found your journal hidden in your bedframe today. You really should have picked a better hiding place for it. You wouldn't want your parents stumbling upon this. You know that they wouldn't want you in a relationship this young." Peppermint maid explained, seeing that Leo was obviously worried.

"I-I know... I'll find somewhere... B-But please don't tell them! I really do love Blake and I don't know what I'd do without him! Please keep this quiet Peppermint maid, I'll do anything!" The vampire teen begged, desperately wanting his secret to be kept.

"You don't have to do anything, it's fine. I'm not going to say a word unless you want me to. I did the same thing for your parents when they had a situation similar to yours. My lips are sealed." She reassured.

Leo hugged her tightly for keeping his secret. He was worried that she would tell, but she promised she wouldn't. He was safe for another day.
