Chapter 27

Third person

Leo spent most of the time in his room during the day. He decided to keep his feelings in a journal so he would feel better and not like a ticking time bomb. But he could not let his parents find this book.

The vampire searched his room for a place to keep it. Under his bed or pillow would be far too obvious. In one of his drawers beneath his clothes would be very easy to find as well. In his desk would be a good spot, except this notebook would stand out amongst the rest. There was no good place to put it.

Leo was at a dead end at the moment. It seemed like no matter what place he picked it would always be an easy find. This notebook was personal. He couldn't let his parents find it.

He finally settled for sticking the book under his matress into his bedframe. It wasn't noticeable and he prayed that it would keep his journal hidden. If it didn't there was going to be a big problem.

Leo went out to see his boyfriend as soon as the sun set. He didn't wait a moment longer. Blake was the only thing he really looked forward to at the end of the day. He was going to spend every possible minute with the one he loved.

Back at the Candy kingdom, Peppermint maid was doing her normal chores for the day. She didn't even really consider them chores. They had been her job for as long as she could remember and she enjoyed that. She also loved Leo like part of her family.

Leo loved Peppermint maid similar to the way he would love his grandmother, if he had one. He was not allowed to see Marshall Lee's mother, which was for the best. She didn't even know Leo existed. Leo didn't have a grandmother on Gumball's side either. That was why he considered Peppermint maid his grandmother more than a member of the staff. She was very nice and loving to him, just like a grandmother should be.

Peppermint maid, or Peps as Leo liked to call her, went up to his room to change his bed sheets. Leo often forgot to do so himself because he hardly ever slept. When lifting his matress she caught a glimpse of the journal he had been trying to hide. She picked it up and looked at it for a moment before flipping through the pages.

The book was basically a diary. Leo had written about several different dates and many pages were about Blake. Peppermint maid wasn't surprised to read about Leo's feelings for his companion. She saw it coming since the beginning. To her it was obvious that they would become a couple. They were all each other had after all.

The way she felt about Leo was the same way she felt about Gumball when he first started dating Marshall. She felt happy but was also ready to pick up the pieces if things went south. Now it seemed that this was going to be a very similar situation. Apparently history does repeat itself.
