Chapter 19

Third person

The two boys spent the entire night together. It was much like their other nights together, but this one felt more special. They had just confessed their love for each other. Of course it would be special.

Blake held Leo's hand nearly all night. He wanted the other's touch, even if it was cold. The flame boy didn't mind that his love was cold. To him that just gave him an excuse to hold him close and warm him up. The two were going to be a very sweet couple. That was already obvious.

The closer it got to dawn the more they dreaded time. Neither of them wanted to leave the other alone. They wished they could stay together. Unfortunately there was no where for them to stay. They were out in the forest after all.

Leo sighed. It was really his fault that they couldn't always be together. He couldn't be in the sun without protection because he was a vampire. Blake could go in the sun whenever he wanted. Nothing would stop him. Leo however got burned just from the slightest ray of sunlight making contact with his skin. That's why he always had to leave before dawn; that and his curfew.

"I need to get going... I don't want to get caught in the sun..." Leo said softly, sitting up from the ground.

Blake knew that they couldn't stay together at night. He was used to it by now. But the one night they fell asleep was a good night. He enjoyed being close to the vampire, even if they ended up getting in trouble because of it.

Blake wished that every night could be like that one. He would be happy. They wouldn't have to spend time apart. He could always wake up right where he wanted to; next to Leo. But unfortunately that wasn't the case. They were still young and wouldn't be able live together for a while.

Leo was turning sixteen in just about a week. That meant it would be two more years until they could live together. It was quite disappointing for them.

The two knew they were a bit young for romance but didn't care. Leo's parents were only about a year older than them when they officially became a couple. They were married now. Sure, not every couple stays together, but the teens had a good feeling about their relationship. They loved each other and were not about to give that up for anything.

Blake's parents were only a few years older than them. It wasn't a big deal. The real problem would be the Candy kingdom's rules. Same-sex relationships were now allowed. Leo was at no risk of losing the throne that would be his in the future if he wanted it. But there was one problem.

Gumball had thought about the future when abolishing the same-sex relationship rule. He decided that to keep Leo safe he would make a rule that prohibited any relationship under the age of eighteen. That rule was going to make Leo and Blake's situation very interesting.
