Chapter 8

Meg's POV

I watched as Raoul gave Rosie permission to say goodbye. I couldn't help crying. Rosie was the only child that I knew and could take care of.

I knew Raoul liked me better than Eric because of my friendship with Christine, but he still didn't like that I didn't do anything to keep his child from being kidnapped.

Rosie ran straight into my arms and I stroked her long dark brown curly hair. It was just like her mother's.

There was no denying that she looked just like Christine. I let go of Rosie and tried to put on the best smile I could, even though my heart was breaking.

Rosie looked over at Eric and my heart broke even more at the sight. She ran over to him and gave him a hug. Even Eric tensed up at the sudden action.

Eric's POV

My heart clenched in my chest and I knew that I was going to miss her. Even though she is Christine's daughter, I still loved her.

I was going to miss her. I felt my body tense up when she wrapped her arms around me. I heard her sniffle. I knew she was crying.

I wrapped my arms around her tiny frame and leaned my head on hers. I couldn't help the tears as the fell down my face.

Rosie's POV

After I gave Eric and Meg a hug I prepared myself for the old life I was about to leave and new one I was about to enter.

I turned back to Raoul after I let go of Eric, the only father I have known for 13 years.

I smiled at him and nodded letting him know that I was ready. He came over to me and took my hand and led me to the carriage that was waiting outside.

I said a quick goodbye to Meg and Eric and another one to my home, playground, and school. The Opera Populaire. Goodbye old life, hello new one.
