Back Home

Oikawa's POV

After we checked out of the hotel we walked back to the train station.  Shoyo still seemed pretty tired from yesterday.  When we got on the train I let him lean against me, but every time the train lurched to a stop he would nearly fall out of his seat.
"Here, why don't we do this," I pulled him onto my lap so he was facing me and wrapped my arms tightly around his waist.  "Comfy?"
"Mhm," He hummed as he rested his head in the nape of my neck.  I kissed his forehead and let him go back to sleep.
Two and a half hours later and we were at our stop.  "Shoyo," I whispered.  "We're here, c'mon."  He didn't stir.  I sighed and shouldered on both of our overnight bags before carefully lifting him as well.  He clung to me like a koala and I felt my face heat up at how cute he was.
"Mmn, morning Toru," He sighed.
"Hey sleepy head.  Do you think you can walk now?  We're already halfway to Suga's."
"Oh my gosh!  I'm so sorry!  You should have woken me up!"
"But you look so cute when you're asleeo Sho-chan!"
"Sho-chan?" He giggled.
"Yeah!  It's cute, just like you!"
I carefully put him down and held his hand.

We were a few blocks from Suga's house when Shoyo's grip on my hand tightened significantly.  He was still wearing my hoodie and pulled the hood over his head.
"Sho?"
"She's about ten meters in front of us.  Keep walking and act normal."

"Shoyo?"  Her voice was so sweet and concerned.  "Baby!  I've been looking everywhere for you!"
"I-I'm sorry ma'am, I don't know what you're talking about."  His voice shook, and he was pressed so close to me that I could feel him trembling.
"Shoyo, baby, I'm your mother..."  She seemed to finally aknowledge me.  "Who is this?"
"I'm his boyfriend," I said firmly.  "Not that it's any of your buisness."
Shoyo still kept his head low, not making eyecontact with her.
"Shoyo, please, stop this nonesense and come home baby.  I miss you.  I know that you're going through that rebellious stage and I promise I won't punish you too harshly for running away, though I don't know if I can overlook this... disgusting behavior..."

"Excuse me, is there a problem here?"  Sawamura-san rested his hand on her shoulder to let her know he was addressing her.  At this point Shoyo was clinging to me and shaking like a leaf. I held him close to me.
"Not at all, I'm just trying to get my son to come home to me."
"I'm sorry ma'am, but you seem to have mistaken yourself for his mother," Sawamura-san said in a surprisingly cold tone.  "A mother takes care of and loves her children.  All you seem to have been able to do is traumatise poor Hinata-kun."  His dark aura disappated so quickly that it was almost scary.  "Now, if that's all then have a nice day," He said with a smile that I knew all too well.  It was the smile he gave someone that he really, really couldn't stand.  I've been on the recieving end of that smile more times than I would have liked.
"Fine, but don't come running back to me when all this shit blows up in your face," She spat at Shoyo.  I would never hit a woman, but her... for her I could make an acception, though I don't think that would really help the situation, so I settled for an ice cold glare.
Once she was out of sight I picked Shoyo up without a word to him or Sawamura-san and began walking to Sugawara-san's appartment.
Once we were there I opened the door to see Sugawara-san pacing around anxiously.
"Hinata!  Are you ok?!  Daichi and I saw her from the window and he came out to make sure you were ok."
He was met with silence.
"He hasn't said a word since she showed up," I said calmly.  "Sho, do you want me to take you to your room?"  He nodded.
"Is there anything I can do?" Sugawara-san asked.
"I'll tell you as soon as I know," I replied.

I set him down on his bed.  "Sho, are you ok?"
"I-I was so scared that she w-was going to hurt y-you," his voice broke half way through as tears started to pour from his eyes.
"Hey, I told you that I'd protect you.  Besides, she couldn't hurt me anyway," I said, trying to reassure him.
"Toru, you don't know what she's capable of!"  He pulled off his shirt, leaving me thuroughly confused.  "She did this to me!" He shouted as he pointed to a wide scar stretching from his left shoulder to his right hip.
"Oh my god..."  I stared at him in shock.  "Why haven't you gone to the police?!"
"Because!  They would take me away!  They would send me into foster care and I would be taken away from everyone I know and love!"
He had a point.
"What about Mr. Refreshing?  He's legally an adult."
"Are you suggesting that I ask Suga to adopt me?"
"I mean, it's wierd, but it's an option."
"I don't know Toru.  Plus no judge would ever agree to that."
"We'll figure something out, ok?"
"Ok."
"Now put your shirt back on befor mom and dad walk in and get the wrong idea.  I would rather not get killed by Sawamura-san today."
Hinata blushed and quickly replaced his shirt.
"So, what do you want to do Chibi-chan?"
"Sleep."
"You've been sleeping a lot, are you ok?"
"Mhm, just stressed I think."
"That's fair, but you didn't eat breakfast, so at least let me get you some lunch first?"
"Ok.  Thank you Toru."
"Anything for you Chibi-chan," I placed a kiss on his nose before walking out of the room.
I was on my way to the kitchen when I was stopped by Sawamura-san.

Here comes the dad talk...
