Chapter 18- Being wanted should feel better

Chapter 18

The next day things have gone sort of back to normal. Well, if you ignored the raging demon attacks outside.

“Pass the chocolate cake,” I whispered.

“No,” Mikey muttered.

“I want chocolate,” I whisper yelled.

“Well too bad. Sometimes in life we don’t get what we want, now do we?” he growled. I glared.

“Guys, would you please pay attention,” John snapped. Mikey and I smiled sheepishly in apology. John continued addressing everyone.

“All we can do now at the moment is just stay put. The house has survival needs for a hundred people that’ll last a year, so we’re pretty good.”

“So we’re just going to do nothing, while people are dying outside?” questioned a hunter.

“It wouldn’t do anyone good if we just got out there with no proper plan,” John snapped back, and suddenly the whole room was in a debate.

“How long are we stuck here?”

“Not too long,” John said while millions of questions were thrown at him. I sighed getting up from the living room floor and going into the kitchen.

“Oh, hey Alex,” I greeted the kid who was on a stool in front of the counter eating a sandwich.

“Is it going to be madness the whole time?” he asked. I chuckled awkwardly.

“Yeah… probably,” I said shifting from one foot to another. I wondered how Alex was holding up. First, finding out he was a hunter and then finding out about the apocalypse. Yeah, I figured it wasn’t the best thing for a 15 year old.

“This is going to sound random, but I just thought of something,” Alex said thoughtfully. I grabbed a juice box and sat next to him.

“What’s up?”

“Only one sibling can be a hunter, right?” I nodded.

“How come both Sam and Max are hunters?” Alex asked.

“Well, you got me there. I’m guessing it’s because they’re twins, but there’s an exception to every rule,” I said shrugging.

“I wish Eddie was the hunter. He’d be way more prepared,” he muttered.

“Hey, don’t worry dude. You’re the one that was chosen, right? There has to be a reason you’re the one that’s the hunter. That’s enough proof that you’re strong enough.”

“I guess,” he muttered.

“How’s my favorite little brother,” Eddie said walking into the kitchen and ruffling Alex’s hair.

“I’m your only little brother,” Alex said rolling his eyes. Eddie shrugged. The resemblance between Alex and Eddie is incredible. They have the same tan skin, dark tousled hair, and hazel eyes.

“Checking me out?” Eddie mused. I flushed red and glared.

“You wish, jerk,” I said and walked out huffing.

Boys.

“Amy!”

“Can’t breathe Adrian,” I managed to say while stuck in a bone-crushing hug.

“Did I do something wrong? Do you hate me?” Adrian asked his face looking fearful and he started pacing.

“Adrian,” I said to get his attention. He stopped and looked at me.

“Are you drunk?”

“Maybe,” he said and giggled.

“Not cool, dude!” I said and smacked his arm.

“I’m sorry, it’s just these thoughts. They’re driving me crazy,” he said thrashing his head back and forth.

“Adrian, calm down, and tell me what happened,” I said sternly.

“She shall be my queen! He said. The world shall end! He growled. It was not pleasant. He can’t have you, Amy!” Adrian said in hushed tones.

“Who’s he?” I said now slightly worried.

“Lucifer,” he whispered and passed out.

******

“Well, poop, that sounds disturbing,” Elysia commented.

“Tell me about it. The devil wants me to be his queen?” I asked. It was almost funny, if it wasn’t so weird.

“Maybe Adrian was just drunk and said random stuff?” Mikey suggested. We all stared at him.

“Right, highly unlikely in our lives,” he said sadly.

“Are we going to tell my father?”  Sam asked.

“I don’t think we should tell anyone beside us seven, which means no Alan, either,” Danni said.

“But, it’s Alan!” Sam and Elysia protested at the same time.

“We’ve got to be reasonable. We can’t trust anyone. We can’t trust John,” Max said addressing Sam.

“He’s our father!” Sam growled.

“You don’t know that,” Max said.

“What does that even mean?” Sam said and I saw her getting angrier.

“Max has a theory,” I started. Sam and Max stopped arguing.

“Before you guys came, Max was the first to see Adrian on the floor with me by his side. While we were dragging Adrian to this room, I got a message. Erm, it was only a line and it said- A family member is not who he says he is. Max thinks it’s John,” I finished off.

“Great, like we needed more shit to figure out,” Elysia groaned.

“Tell me about it. Everything’s stressing me out!” Danni said angrily.

“We’re alone,” Sam stated in realization.

“Well, isn’t heaven or whatever supposed to be on our side?” Elysia said with her hand holding up her head, looking bored.

“Maybe that’s where the messages, visions, and powers come from?” I suggested.

“Interesting theory, but not what we need to focus on,” Max said. I shrugged.

“Wake up, Adrian,” I mumbled looking at his sleeping form on the bed. We were all huddled on the floor. The door was locked.

“Guys, we need a plan,” I said. Everyone groaned.

“What?” I asked confused.

“Last time you said that, there was an explosion,” Danni said.

“Yeah, so shut it!” Elysia replied.

“Hey!”

*****

“Oh great, you again,” I groaned.

That evil smirk flew upon his face.

“The one and only,” said Lucifer with his British accent. Why must he use a British accent on me? That devil.

“I’m guessing that this is a dream?” I asked.

“Oh, but it is real.”

“But it’s a dream?”

“Why must you make this all confusing? Anyways, you called?” he asked. I raised an eyebrow.

“No, I didn’t. You’re just personally victimizing me.”

“Not even aware of your own powers! You are interesting.”

I sighed.

“I would be careful Amy. Your magic borders aren’t so strong. I have a feeling you’ll find out soon enough,” Lucifer said smirking.

“What do you want from me?” I groaned.

“I need either you or Adrian to kill yourselves. We’ve been over this, no? You’re going to die anyways. Why not make it upon your own hand?”

“How does that benefit you?”

Lucifer sighed and answered, “You’ll figure it out soon enough, so it won’t hurt to tell you. The prophecy is clear. I’m trapped in hell. I need the blood of a hunter sacrificed to me to escape, but that part doesn’t really concern you. Anyways, the prophecy states I shall kill one of you, and the other shall send me back to hell, thus ending the apocalypse. It’s a lose-lose situation for you, don’t you think? You’ll have to go through all that pain and war, and in the end save a human race that aren’t even thankful, while losing many loved ones. Ah, is it worth it?”

I rolled my eyes.

“I thought the devil was more conniving than this.”

“You can be a queen!”

“Wrong- I can be your queen. Who in their right minds would want to be the queen of hell? Um, no thanks,” I said crossing my arms. When was this dream going to end? Lucifer smirked.

“You’re a dark person, Amy. You’ll enjoy it.”

adsdafas this chapter sucks like it's painful for me to read it. It's all over the place and seems more like a script too much dialogue *sigh* I hoped it was still enjoyable lol
