46. Of Musicians & Solos

"Oh, hey!" Thiago greeted Adrien and Chloe when he saw them inside the hotel, much to Adrien's relief, who didn't know how much more he could handle Chloe "Fancy running into you, guys, here. What are you up to?"

"Chloe was just about to take me to Jagged's suite"

"Cool, I wanna come, too!" he said, and started to walk alongside the two of them, much to Chloe's annoyance.

"Thanks" Adrien said to Thiago in a whisper, who nodded "I hope I didn't interrupt anything"

"Not at all. We were just watching anime" replied Thiago as they were waiting for the elevator.

"Oh, what were you watching?" questioned Adrien with interest. He liked watching Anime.

"I don't know if you've heard of it, it's called Erased. And it's just so good!" replied Thiago. They were currently on episode six.

"I watched it!" Adrien replied excited "And I agree, it's quite good!"

As soon as he said that, a monstrous roar was heard. The three of them looked towards the stairs, to find a guy with pink hair and a guitar and a violet dragon behind him.

"I'll never do a duet with XY!" exclaimed the man fiercely, looking at the producer who, just moments ago, was being interviewed about Jagged Stone "In fact, soon there won't be an XY! Rock and rift, baby!" he strum his guitar, and a violet beam of light was thrown in the producer and the interviewer's direction, making them dance wildly to a rock song as they knocked the chairs and the table over "Soon, they'll be nothing but Guitar Villain fans! The one and only rocker!"

"Hurry, Adrien!" said Chloe "Get me out of here!" Adrien's idea of getting her 'out of here' was to lift her up and put her inside the elevator, before its doors closed.

"Dude, is that Jagged Stone?!" questioned Thiago, as both friends went to hide behind a flower base to look at Guitar Villain from up close.

"Sure seems like it!" replied Adrien "And I'm guessing that the dragon is Fang"

"We need to stop him!" stated Thiago, and Adrien agreed as they both turned into their alter egos, before catching up to him in the park.

"Hey, Jagged!" Chat Noir called up to him, standing on one of the statues of the fountain, while Tigre Blanco stood on the one next to him "Why don't you try to rock my world?"

"The name's Guitar Villain" corrected Jagged "Awesome solo!" this time, when he started to play the guitar, a yellow beam came out of it. Both heroes jumped away from his attack, and he ended up destroying one part of the fountain.

As both heroes ran away from his attacks, Chat Noir was suddenly thrown out of the way by a green mist. They looked up to the sky, to find Fang flying above their heads, watching their every move. Tigre Blanco threw his boomerang towards the dragon to call his attention and get him away from Chat Noir.

"Hey, Fang! Over here!" he called as his boomerang returned to him. The dragon roared and blew green mist his way. Tigre jumped to the side to avoid it, and he was suddenly being chased by a violet mythical creature, while Chat Noir was left to deal with Guitar Villain on his own.

He sprinted across the rooftops with the dragon on his back as it constantly shot at him. He then threw his lasso towards the dragon's neck, which roared and started to fly all around the city, with him not being able to get on top of him, so he was just holding onto the rope for dear life, wishing very hard not to fall.

"This is not how I wanted to spend my Saturday morning!" he exclaimed, as he moved to the sides so he wouldn't hit any roofs or trees.

Then, a string was wrapped around his waist, and he was dragged to the floor, where Ladybug was staring at him, clearly amused by the scene she had just witnessed.

"Let me guess, you had it under control?" questioned Ladybug, when he saw him opening his mouth to say something.

"I was gonna say 'ouch'" replied Tigre, standing up and cleaning the dust off his clothes. They were all here now, which would make things much easier.

"You're wasting my time!" exclaimed Guitar Villain, standing on the dragon "I got a concert to get to!" that being said, he went off, leaving the quartet to watch after him.

"C'mon, we gotta follow them!" ordered Ladybug, and the heroes climbed onto the roof to get a better sight of him "His power comes from the guitar! We gotta keep him from playing!"

"Well, I won't let you do this solo" replied Chat Noir, to the surprise of absolutely no one. They were already used to his puns.

After some minutes, they arrived to the Eiffel Tower, just in time to save Theo from being turned into Guitar Villain's fan.

"You again!" exclaimed Guitar Villain angrily "To the TV studio, Fang!" that being said, he went off.

"How are we supposed to catch up with him if he's flying on that thing?" questioned Loup d'Argent, staring at Ladybug.

"We can't" replied Ladybug, shaking her head "But let's make sure he doesn't find what he's looking for" she took her phone and called the TV studio, telling them that they needed to get XY out of there ASAP.

Some minutes later, they arrived to the studio, just in time to see XY and the interviewer getting out of the building.

"We gotta get you to safety!" stated Ladybug, grabbing XY from the arm and trying to drag him with her, but he shook her arm off rudely.

"So what's this Guitar Villain gonna do? Blow me away with his evil guitar solo?" he questioned, clearly not believing that he was in danger.

"Yeah!" the four of them said at the same time.

"Once we catch Guitar Villain, we'll get you to the Eiffel Tower, just in time for your live performance" Tigre Blanco added.

"Pff, who even cares?" questioned XY with an air of superiority, that Loup hated "My roadies can just project my image on stage. Live concerts are so ten minutes ago" once he said that, he was dragged away by the dragon.

"At least he shut up" commented the wolf girl "He was starting to annoy me"

"Back to square one" said Chat Noir, as the four of them stood on the roof.

"I get the feeling we are in for quite a concert" replied Ladybug "You ready?"

"To rock and rift!" exclaimed Tigre Blanco, and the heroes went off towards the Eiffel Tower.

It was already night when they finally reached the top of the Eiffel Tower. Lights were glowing, Guitar Villain's fans were screaming with uncontrollable excitement, and XY was tied up at the end of a wooden plank, pirate style.

"I got a plan" stated Loup d'Argent, looking at her partners "But I need you to keep Fang off my back"

"What's the plan?" asked Tigre Blanco. She explained it to them, and they all nodded.

Loup took her violin out as Ladybug dropped her on the plank, right in front of XY.

"Hey, Guitar Villain!" she called, making him stop playing and look at her "I bet you can't play this!" she played a set of quick notes before looking back at him.

"Oh, please" said Guitar Villain, and played the notes perfectly "Child's play"

"Okay, what about this?" she played another set of notes.

Loup d'Argent kept taunting Guitar Villain, and Tigre Blanco used the distraction to get XY off the plank with his lasso without Guitar Villain noticing.

"How 'bout we settle this down with a duel?" questioned the girl with a smirk.

"Bring it on!" exclaimed Jagged Stone, completely forgetting what he actually was supposed to be doing.

The girl narrowed her eyes and took a deep breath, before starting to play a violin solo, and Jagged played a guitar solo at the same time.

It was a mix of notes and genres. On the one hand, there was the soft sound of the violin, and on the other hand the wild strum of an electric guitar. Jagged's guitar was throwing beams of purple colour, but none of them made Loup d'Argent lose balance or fall. She was only focused on playing her own song and beating Jagged's solo. She didn't know if it would work, but it was worth a try.

In the meanwhile, the remaining three were mounting a dragon as they stared at their friend playing the violin some meters below them.

"Look at her" stated Ladybug amazed "She isn't the tiniest affected by Jagged's powers"

"How is she doing that?" Chat Noir questioned. She was playing with no tension at all, no fear of falling, just freedom "Just how on earth is she so good?" he asked again, and two pairs of eyes stood on Tigre quizzically, being the only one who knew her real identity.

"Don't look at me" he replied "I'm not gonna tell you anything"

Some sweat was running down Loup d'Argent's forehead, since she was playing with no rest, but she didn't have time for it. Her plan was to tire Jagged and make him stop playing so Ladybug could de-evilize the akuma easily.

Down below, Guitar Villain's fans looked sort of disoriented. Some were still rocking to Jagged's music, but others were sort of looking around, as if they had no idea what they were doing there.

"Hey, look" Tigre spoke up, looking at the people on the street "Some of them don't seem under control anymore"

"She's snapping them out of it!" realised Chat Noir, looking back at the wolf playing. Jagged was also playing, and his guitar was throwing flashes of yellow now, but Loup, despite being sort of tired, was still keeping her ground.

Both musicians stopped for a moment to catch their breaths.

"Do you want to give up yet?" questioned the girl.

"No way!" replied Guitar Villain "I'm the best musician around" Loup didn't know how much she could keep playing, since her arms were feeling tired, but she shook it off, and smirked.

"We'll see about that"

"They are still going!" exclaimed Ladybug surprised as she saw them resuming the playing "She's gonna exhaust herself out! We need to stop her!"

"No" Tigre stuck his arm out in front of her to prevent her from doing anything "She can do this. She wouldn't have suggested it otherwise"

"So we just stand back and let her pass out from exhaustion? Look at her, she's almost at the edge of the plank"

It was true, in fact. Loup was starting to get tired, and Jagged was gaining on her, making her scurry backwards, though she kept playing, trying not to look down.

"Still won't give up?" questioned Jagged, and he looked exhausted, too. He was panting a bit.

Loup smirked.

"Not today" she stated, and begun playing once more.

Jagged's playing was slowing down, but she had a newfound energy as she kept playing the song. She took some steps forward, staying away from the edge of the plank as she kept playing with passion.

At the end of the song, she lowered the bow gracefully, while Guitar Villain had stopped playing quite some minutes ago, and was now focusing on catching his breath.

Loup d'Argent looked at her partners, still on top of the dragon, who were staring right back at her with amazement.

"Well, what are you waiting for?!" she exclaimed loudly so they could hear her "Are you gonna come down or what?!"

Her words brought her friends back, as they landed on the wooden plank. Ladybug broke the guitar, de-evilized the akuma and returned everything to normal.

Loup d'Argent was simply relieved that she could finally rest her arms.

"You were amazing!" exclaimed Ladybug. She had practically done the entire job for them.

"Yeah! Where did you learn to play like that?!" added Chat Noir excited, making her chuckle.

"I don't kiss and tell" replied the girl mysteriously, with her arms folded.
