23. Of Knights & Armours
So, Marinette decided to run for the elections of class representative, much to everyone's happiness.
Thiago was hanging out with Adrien in the school's yard before his fencing lesson, since he didn't feel like going home and face Arianne. He knew that she was sort of right and had told him that she didn't want to raise her hopes up, but he also knew that he had some reason, too; if Arianne didn't do anything about his feelings for Adrien, then something bad could happen.
"Hey" Adrien called out to him "You and Aria barely looked at each other today. What happened between the two of you?"
"Is it really that obvious?" he asked. Adrien was the second person that day that asked him about it.
"You didn't say anything to one another, and you didn't sit together in class, which was already suspicious enough" replied the boy "So, what happened?"
"She got angry at me for something I did" replied Thiago "Even when she told me that she didn't want me to do it"
"Well, if she didn't want you to do it, then she has the right to be angry" he said logically.
"Yeah, but I did it for her, because she definitely needed it" replied Thiago. He knew that Arianne had the right to be angry at him, but he also knew that what he did was not totally wrong, because he did it to cheer her up in some way.
"Maybe you should tell her that, then" suggested Adrien, and Thiago looked at him curiously "Maybe she'll understand"
"Or maybe she will yell at me like she did before"
"You won't know 'till you try" replied the blonde, and he was right "What I definitely know, is that you guys are going to fix it in the end. You are practically siblings, and siblings always make up"
"I guess you are right in some way" said Thiago thoughtfully.
"Oh, Thiag" said Adrien, placing a hand on his shoulder, and making the white-haired look at him curiously "I'm always right" his friend rolled her eyes.
"Don't flatter yourself" Adrien laughed upon hearing this, just as his fencing teacher, Armand D'Argencourt, arrived.
"Time for practice" stated the blonde, standing up and grabbing his sword "You staying?"
"I'm definitely not going home"
"Great" replied his friend "You'll be able to admire my amazing skills" he said confidently. Around Thiago, he could act just like Chat Noir did, because he didn't need to hide who he was, neither around him nor around Arianne.
"Let's see if you are as a good as you claim to be" said Thiago once more, folding his arms and leaning against the bench. Adrien smirked and went off to start his lesson.
After a couple of minutes, the blonde was on the floor, and Thiago couldn't help but snicker a bit, which earned him a glare, that only made him laugh even more.
As Armand was telling Adrien about an ancestor of his called Darkblade, the news reporter came into the school with a cameraman following behind. She asked him about his defeat at the elections for mayor, which he had lost with 3% of the votes, the lowest number of votes in Paris's history. The news reporter was obviously there to ask him about his failure.
Once a janitor spotted the news reporter, and they went off, Armand declared that the lesson had finished, and went off, too. Adrien looked at Thiago, kind of concerned about his teacher, but Thiago shrugged his shoulders, not really knowing what else to do.
"I really hate those guys" said the white haired, as him and Adrien walked down the stairs of the school. Thiago still didn't feel like going home, so Adrien invited him over to his house.
"The news reporters?" asked Adrien, giving his friend a glance.
"Yeah" nodded the gamer "They are always trying to ruin people's lives. Sort of like Chloe, but not as much" Adrien chuckled a bit upon hearing that as they kept walking.
After some minutes, Thiago hit him slightly in the shoulder, fixing his gaze on Armand. Adrien looked at him curiously, and followed his gaze.
Armand had destroyed a poster of the mayor to shreds with his sword, and had turned into a black knight. Adrien raised his eyebrow, and so did Thiago.
"Anything you'd like to say about your...transformation, into a—" started the lady from the news once again, who had been waiting for him outside of the school.
"Darkblade!" the knight finished the phrase for her, making both guys open their eyes wide. Darkblade was Armand's ancestor "The lord of Paris!" then, red light came out from his sword, making both, the reporter and the cameraman, kneel down, as Darkblade turned them into his own personal knights.
Thiago sneaked away from Adrien and went behind the school building, to turn into Tigre Blanco.
Then, he jumped to the roofs, and followed Darkblade and his knights as they walked through Paris's streets. He saw Chat Noir in the distance, and immediately approached him.
"Well, you wasted no time!" said Chat Noir, talking about Tigre Blanco arriving very quickly to the scene.
"What can I say?" he replied shrugging "I have a hunger for justice!" he added, in a very dramatic voice, making Chat Noir give him a confused look "I'm kidding, I just didn't have anything better to do" his partner chuckled upon hearing that "So, you take the front and I take the back?"
"Sounds like a plan" nodded the cat, and both heroes jumped off to their respective positions "The people had their say, and they chose Bourgeois over you, D'Argencourt" he announced, pointing at him with his staff. Tigre Blanco didn't say anything, because he was the surprise attack.
"Those people matter not to me" said Darkblade, in a very medieval way, taking some steps forward "D'Argencourt was defeated, not Darkblade! En garde!" that being said, Chat Noir and Darkblade started to fight. Tigre Blanco took that chance to throw his boomerang to one row of the knights, knocking them down, and making the other row attack him.
Somehow, the fight continued all the way down to Pont Des Art, while Tigre Blanco stayed behind, fighting all the soldiers by himself, and when he had knocked down most of them, he hurried to the bridge, too. He arrived to see Chat Noir hiding underneath the bridge, with Darkblade and some other knights he had turned on the way there looking down, but not seeing anything.
When they were gone, Tigre Blanco threw his rope at him, and pulled him back.
"The knights?" he questioned upon seeing him.
"Defeated, most of them" replied Tigre Blanco "But I can see that Darkblade wasted no time in creating some more"
"They're heading for the city hall" replied Chat Noir "We have to get there quickly"
"Then let's get going"
When they arrived, they arrived just in time to see the knights heading straight for the city hall door, but Chat Noir and Tigre Blanco threw their respective weapons and knocked them down once more.
"Take them!" ordered Darkblade, and all the knights headed straight for them. They were mostly fighting them by hand, with no weapons.
Marinette and Arianne, both, who had been at the city hall because of Chloe's campaign, saw them fighting the knights on their own through the windows. Tigre spotted Arianne on the window, and they exchanged glances for a couple of seconds, before Tigre turned back towards the knights to keep on fighting them.
Arianne sneaked away from her classmates, and went upstairs.
"I gotta help them, Ayu" said Arianne "They can't fight the knights on their own" she shook her head with worry "I should have never yelled at Thiago like that. After all, he was just trying to help me, like he's always done"
"I'm sure he'll forgive you if you tell him that" assured Ayu "But right now, you need to worry about protecting Paris"
"You're right" nodded Arianne "Ayu, transform me!"
Loup d'Argent landed on the floor outside of the city hall, and used her bow to attack some of the nights coming her way. Her violin was a multi purpose tool, for it had many uses, like that one, for example, and she also had a pair of elastic violin strings she could tie anywhere to create a net.
She spotted some knights surrounding Tigre Blanco, and ran towards them. She also saw Tigre's boomerang lying on the floor far away from him, grabbed it, and used it to hit the surrounding knights. Her friend looked extremely surprised upon seeing her there.
She smiled at him, and stuck her hand out to help him, which he took, still surprised.
"You really should be more careful with your stuff" said the girl, handing him the boomerang, which he took.
"Thanks" he replied, smiling a bit, too "Listen, I'm sorry about—"
"It can wait" she cut him off "Right now, we have one priority, and that is to protect everyone in this place" her gaze stood on the window, and she smirked "Now we're all here" Tigre followed her gaze, and saw Ladybug pulling Chat Noir up one of the windows "Let's go" both friend ran towards the window next to that one, and used Tigre's rope to climb up.
Standing inside, it was easier to take down the knights trying to climb up the window.
But, then, Darkblade used the same method he had used to turn people into knights, to turn cars into catapults.
"Well, that's new" observed Tigre, as the catapults launched the knights to the roof "But why are they going up there?" one of the knights then crashed with a column.
"Some of them, at least" added Chat Noir humorously upon seeing that scene.
"The flag!" realised Ladybug, and the quartet went on the roof, too "The akuma must be in his sword!"
"How are we gonna get a hold of it?" asked Chat Noir, looking at her. Ladybug smirked.
"By getting me close to it!" that being said, she wrapped her yoyo around Darkblade's wrist and started to jump up, but she was thrown off "Guys, don't let him get his banner!"
Chat Noir sneaked up on the human tower that the knights were making, and threw some of them off, but the rest started to attack him.
"Kitty!" cried the wolf girl, just as other knights surrounded Loup d'Argent and Tigre Blanco. They both looked at each other, before standing back-to-back "Is in times like this that I wish I had a katana or sword instead of a violin"
"Who needs a weapon?" asked Tigre Blanco "We got our hands, and you can turn into a wolf and defeat all these people in seconds"
"You're right" she replied "Well, I guess I'll see you in a half an hour"
"But remember that you have to stay outside of the cloud, otherwise, you'll end up becoming a knight, too"
"Got it" nodded the wolf "Loup d'Argent!"
She turned into a silver wolf, and started to attack the knights with her claws and teeth, though she made sure not to hurt them, because they were still civilians.
Ladybug used her lucky charm, de-evilized the akuma, and turned everything back to normal.
With a howl, Loup d'Argent took off.
"I'm sorry about yelling at you earlier" Arianne apologised to Thiago later that night, at their house while they were having dinner "I know you were just trying to help me out, and I shouldn't get mad at you for that"
"It's really me who should be apologising" replied Thiago, looking at the girl, who was staring at him with curious eyes "You told me many times that you didn't want to do anything about your feelings for Adrien, but I just went ahead and did what I felt like. It was very selfish, and I'm sorry"
"It's okay" replied Arianne with a smile "We are brother and sister, after all, we will always make up" Thiago smiled upon hearing Adrien's mirrored words from earlier.
"Adrien said the exact same thing when I told him" Arianne looked at him surprised upon hearing that. She wasn't surprised about Thiago telling Adrien, since they were best friends, but about the fact that they had said the same thing.
"Really?"
"Yeah" nodded Thiago "You are truly meant to be"
