Papyrus POV

I watched as Sans walked forward. He seemed a bit on edge with the white coat flapping around his ankles. The coat reminded me of the coat Alphys always wears. The monster he called Owel was walking beside him as we made our way through the dark corridors. They kept talking about these experiments and a 'Beast' they needed to examine again. Sans was clearly excited when we walked into a larger chamber. At the far end there was a cage but that wasn't what Sans was excited about. There were 4 other monsters in the chamber. An orange snake looking thing, A small, blue human looking creature, A tall purple cat/man monster and finally a tall skeleton with 2 cracks in his eye sockets and wearing a black outfit. Sans grinned genuinely. "Val! Sprig! Reno! Gaster! Your back!" He exclaimed. This made the monsters jump and turn around from their work. They all smiled. "SANS! You're here!" They all said together. There was a big group hug and I stood a little bit back. I didn't know how to act. Sans looked at the other skeleton and beamed. The older skeleton gave a small smile and said,  <Sans It Has Been A Long Time Since We Last Got To Reunite, How Has Papyrus Been?> " Sans pointed at me and handed him a small device, "Ask him yourself G, remember he doesn't remember you but I'm glad your back dad." He said with a smile. I was shocked, Dad? We never had a Dad, did we? "BROTHER WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PULL? WE NEVER DID HAVE A DAD... DID WE?" I said. I was very confused but Gaster just chuckled. "I guess it is time for re-introductions. I am W.D Gaster. Before The CORE accident I was doing experiments with Sans. I am also your biological father. My comrades and I were working on the CORE bridge and Sans was checking the thermostat for signs of overheat. The CORE was steadily getting hotter. We were about to pack up and get out of there when the bridge started to collapse. We were falling and Sans, who was at the door, looked around just in time to see us fall." Gaster was saying, reliving the past. But then Sans spoke up, "That day was the day I lost a lot. You were falling, and I ran to the edge to try and grab you. But I was too slow. You, Owel, Val, Reno and Sprig were swallowed up by your own creation. I was defeated by something I had helped to create. I ran away, grieving over my loss. When I got home, I walked into the mini lab and went to grab a family photo we had. But it was just me and pap in it. I created a machine to restore it. I found that nobody remembered you and people kept forgetting me. So, my solution was to make myself common. You can't forget someone that is around you a lot." Sans said looking away. Before I could say anything, Val came up to Sans, "Shields are up Sans. It's time." I was confused when Sans nodded and turned towards the cage. "TIME FOR WHAT? SANS WHAT'S GOING ON? SANS!!!" I exclaimed when Gaster opened the cage and Sans stepped inside. When Gaster closed the cage door I ran towards it but when I touched the bards of the cage I was knocked back by a tremendous force. Sans looked at me and then looked at Reno "Hey Reno are we sure that amount of force is necessary, maybe turn it down a few notches before Paps dusts himself trying to get to me." He said. I got up and ran at the cage again, but something grabbed my soul. I heard a ping and looked down. My soul was blue.

I looked up to see Sans looking away. He had his hand stretched towards me and his eye was glowing. Suddenly I was moved backwards by magical force. Gaster grabbed me from behind. "Papyrus you should know better than to walk past the safety line. Now stay back because I can't guarantee Sans will be in control." He said looking at Sans worried. Sprig nodded to Sans and Sans nodded back. "I'm a little outa practice so no guarantees on me being in control. I'll give it my damnest to be in control, but it will be painful." He said closing his eyes. I was about to ask Gaster what was going to happen when I heard a loud crack. Sans winced and Gaster held my hand, we both squeezed hard. It would have hurt physically for Sans but for us it hurt emotionally. More cracks sounded, and Sans gritted his teeth. He seemed to be concentrating deeply about something. His legs were shaking and Gaster used his free hand to type up notes. Gaster was trying not to look but I could tell he was struggling not to cry from the pain Sans was clearly in. I was plain crying. Tears just running down my face like the rain in waterfall. There was more snapping sounds and Sans had to lean against the cage wall. I heard bone clacking and snapping more frequently now, and my soul turned back to normal again. I was going to step forward, but Sans put a hand out and said in a stranger than normal voice. "Pap... Don... argh... Don't come any closer... it's too... grrragh... dangerous..." I wanted to help but I stayed back with Gaster. I was scared, and Sans knew it. More cracking sounds and he air in front of me turned smokey. I looked at Owel who had hit a button with her tail. "The camera's still work but I don't want you to see what comes next. I sent in smoke, so you only have to see the outline. It will clear soon." She said in a soft voice. She was looking at a screen and kept wincing every now and then. I heard a deep roar and when the smoke finally cleared there was a beast. A tail with a sharp tip. Spines like razors. Eyes of blue flames, wait? Blue flames? Sans? Gaster sighed with relief when the beast looked up and winked.  What was going on? I had no clue. Gaster tapped my shoulder and I turned to look at him. "Papyrus you are clear to pass the safety line now, just if it gets dangerous you need to run towards me ok? I don't care if you have no recollection of me, I am still your father and responsible for you." He said sternly. He was very serious, I could tell the creature was dangerous but for a strange reason as it sat there watching me, I felt like I should be calm, and I was safe. I noticed on the ground next to it was a slightly torn up blue object. There was no dust or blood though. I slowly approached the beast, Gaster nodding in approval of my caution and the beast doing the same, following my movements. I saw that it was scratching something on the ground. I came over, keeping my caution till I could read it. It said: "Well I was feeling BONEly till you came over pap, TIBIA honest I need to put more BACKBONE into these experiments." I frowned because I knew what that meant. I didn't care that he might be in a little bit of physical and emotional pain, I had to deal with a whole day of puns and I don't want more. "SANS!!!!" I yelled at it and it fell onto the floor in a fit of yelps and barks that I could only assume as laughter. Gaster snorts and comes past the safety line, quicker than me but with more caution somehow. Gaster give a warm-hearted smile "Somethings will never change will they Sans?" He said. Sans shook his head. Suddenly a bright rectangle lit up in a pocket of the slightly beaten jacket. A song started to play, and Sans' face turned bright blue. Gaster looked a bit disapproving, "Do you ever turn your phone off in the labs Sans? Honestly, I thought you would know better, ahh well give it here so I can answer it." With careful practice Sans retrieved his phone and handed it to Gaster. Gaster answered the phone and put it on speaker phone. From the phone came the sound of a very angry fish. "ALRIGHT PUNK LISTEN HERE YOU'D BETTER TELL US WHERE YOUR HIDING SANS AND PAPYRUS OR ELSE I'M GET MY GIRLFRIEND TO TRACK THE PHONE CALL!!!" Undyne yelled through the phone. I sighed, "I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE LEFT A NOTE, UNDYNE I'M ALRIGHT AND... SANS IS KIND OF ALRIGHT I'M NOT SURE, SANS ARE YOU ALRIGHT? *sans gives a shrug* OK HE ISN'T SURE EITHER. I'LL ASK DAD, DAD IS SANS ALRIGHT? *Gaster doesn't know either* OK SO NONE OF US ARE SURE IF SANS IS OK OR NOT." Undyne took a few seconds to respond. "WHAT? PAPYRUS IS THAT YOU? WHERE ARE YOU? WHY ISN'T SANS ALRIGHT? AND WHY IS IT THAT YOU CALLED SOMEONE DAD? *Frisk buts into this* *(Papyrus we are scared for you and Sans. Can you tell us what happened?)" I looked at Gaster and then Sans. They give nods.

TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY LÉ TEM

"AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED." I said. No answer. Sans suddenly perked up and did something with his hands. Gaster nodded and then did something else with his hands. Owel nodded and Sans swished his tail. Suddenly Undyne, Alphys, Frisk, Toriel, Asgore, Mettaton, Chara, Asriel and Grillby were standing before them. Alphys was the first to react. "Woah! We're in the old labs?! Papyrus... Other skeleton. What is going on and WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!!!" She shouted, eyes wide and watching Sans. Sans tilted his head in confusion and looks around. After surmising that he was the only thing she could possibly be referring to he pointed a claw at himself. Alphys nodded in a bit of terror. I rolled his eyes, "I MUST HAVE NOT EXPLAINED IT CLEAR ENOUGH. LOOK IN THE CAGE." Toriel looked and saw the joke scratched into the ground and burst into laughter. Undyne was about to ask her what it was that was so funny but then saw the joke. She froze and turned to me. "Papyrus do I have permission to bash your brother for that. No doubt you scolded him on it but can I bash him?" I looked at Gaster and he nodded. "It is ok for Sans to be hit in this state. He has more defense, health and attack now. Just don't hit him in the skull. That might make him lose control." Undyne nodded and while San's back was turned, she summoned a spear and turned his soul green. He yelped and tried to leap away (even though he's trapped in a cage), he was stuck. Then Undyne clocked him in the leg with a spear. He growled, and she let go of the green soul mode. Alphys finally caught on and looked at Sans. "Wait do you mean?" she said. Gaster finished her sentence "Yes this is my son Sans. I'm Gaster by the way. Wing Ding Gaster. I was the past royal scientist." Alphys turned towards him "You were the past royal scientist? OMG you're the one that created The CORE!" "Now I don't deserve all the credit. My team helped. It was a team effort. I would like you to meet Val *Val steps forwards* Sprig *sprig steps forward* Owel *Owel stays put but nods her head* and Reno *Reno stays like a statue watching Sans*. Sans was my junior assistant and my son. Unfortunately, there was an accident involving the CORE. There had been one before that was similar. It is what gave Sans his odd powers. Anyway, I fell into the CORE. But not before we ran tests on Sans and found he had a strange ability before the accident that gave the other powers. And it was this." Gaster says, pointing to Sans. I sighed, it was sure going to be a long, confusing day.
